Everton Women’s 2025/26 season begins with Merseyside Derby on opening day

Starting with Liverpool at Anfield will hopefully produce the usual win there.

Anjishnu, it's all well and good bringing many new players in, but they have to assimilate to the system, their new team mates etc. Not a quick process, as history has proved many a time !

Equally so, buying and/or playing 11 superstars rarely works, as there is an absence of workhorses !

I'd hate to see the Grand Old Lady looking deserted because fans are spread around everywhere.

All the upper stands will be closed off.

Surely they should stick to keeping Goodison Park open for the women's team, and not hand pick games that they think may bring in a bigger attendance, that's not really backing the women's game is it?

I'm just a bit confused. Me personally, I would have developed Goodison as a training facility for Everton and told the council to keep Finch Farm, and played all the women's games at BMD.

But still, if you have the game at Goodison, that would still be a good attendance.

Think that's open to debate. Should this really be news worthy? My answer to that is no.

I don't know one Evertonian — and I know quite a few — who's ever even mentioned the women's team. In fact, I doubt if anyone could even name me one single player.

Give it a rest — this site is about Everton and the men — and I really don't care if this comes across as sexist because women's football doesn't matter.

Also I suspect that people who are struggling to get a ticket for the men's games may be tempted to attend on 12 October if they're yet to experience the new stadium.

As for using BMD for the women's match, I did read somewhere that they have a rule whereby all the women's teams must play one match a season at the men's ground. Seems a bit silly for us though as they have Goodison.

This ties in nicely with our Women moving to Goodison and bringing in better players. I think season tickets for adults are about £100 (£50 for under 18) for the 11 home matches, including the one at the new stadium.

The potential is huge for Everton to really expand the local female fanbase and also take advantage of any sponsorship opportunities or partnerships to improve grassroots facilities for girls and women.
