Everton have agreed a new long-term deal with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, which is set to be signed this week.
Transfer journalists Fabrizio Romano and Paul Joyce of The Times confirmed the development that the club has reached a consensus with Pickford’s camp.
“Jordan Pickford set to sign his new, long-term Everton contract this week,” Joyce posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“Jordan Pickford has agreed to sign new long term deal at Everton, everything done and approved by player’s camp,” Romano added.
The 31-year-old, signed from Sunderland in 2017, has been one of the most influential players in the club’s modern history. He made his 300th Premier League appearance for the Toffees in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace just a week ago.
He has kept 85 clean sheets in the league and was named Everton Player of the Season four times –in 2017-18, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24.
Since signing for the Blues, he has also been the undisputed number 1 in goal for England. Pickford also surpassed Gordon Banks to become the first goalkeeper to keep eight consecutive clean sheets for the national team during the current international break.
James Tarkowski also signed a new deal with the club recently and once Pickford’s new contract is made official, the club is expected to address the future of James Garner who’s in the final year of his current contract.

His current contract runs out in 2027 and he will have only just turned 36 at the end of 2030 if we offer a 3-year extension so it looks like good business to me.

A brilliant keeper.

Keepers' stats are always skewed by how good the team in front of them is anyway. It's a bit pointless and misleading in many ways.

I just checked and he had 2 saves to make in 6 games. I stand corrected!
Still think he is a brilliant keeper though.

Not just a great shot stopper but also really good with his feet. Arguably the best in the world with his feet.
A a modern day keeper there aren't many close to my him in my view. I'm also a big fan of Donnaruma.

On the thread about Moyseys Nepobaby hiring of Wee Davie Jnr, Conor added a link for a media report that David Moyes departed WHU after the club withdrew their offer of a new contract.
That was challenged by his fanboys on the basis that we should not believe what the media write.
Here you ask us to believe what the media wrote as it favours our sainted manager.
Funny old world.
