Upon his new appointment at Nottingham Forest, Sean Dyche has been talking about his highlights as Everton manager.

“The obvious game would be beating Liverpool in 2024 because that was so good for the people,” Dyche tells FourFourTwo. “Those derby games are for the fans.

“I didn’t grow up in the city so I don’t know about the depth of feeling, but I knew we had a bad record at Goodison against Liverpool, so it was nice for the supporters.”

That game saw Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin score to give the Toffees a 2-0 victory over Liverpool, their first at Goodison since October 2010. But there was another game which pipped even that.

“From a personal and professional point of view, it would be the last game of the 2022-23 season, when we beat Bournemouth 1-0 to stay up,” Dyche continues.

“Everybody was on us, doom and gloom everywhere – not from the fans, they were great – but we could have gone down and the media smelt a huge story.

“We worked all week and won 1-0.”

Good to see Sean Dyche back managing in the Premier League.

I'm not a betting man but here's my prediction.

Despite doing quite well at Forest, the owner will fall out with Dyche and sack him in January. A couple of weeks after that Burnley will be at the point of no return, need a new manager bump. Dyche back to Burnley. Burnley stay up.

Double it up with Forest to go down, but that's a very long shot.

As a fair few on here already want to see the back of Moyes, Burnley could sack Dyche and he could come home to Hill Dickinson.

Everyone happy! 😊

I very much doubt the owner is going to again play with fire and place into jeopardy Forest's Premier League position by sacking Dyche. They'll become a hard watch similar to us under his tenure, that's for sure.

I still believe it'll be two of the promoted clubs together with Wolves for the drop. Dyche will do enough... just about.

I think he has a better squad at Forest, compared to what he had to work with at Goodison.

So, very interested to see how he does.

I think Dyche deserves more credit that he gets for what he did at Everton.

He kept us up despite the points deductions and the upheaval in the boardroom, and for that, I'm thankful.

The more I read about Frank Lampard, the more I like the idea of him being our next manager.

Pity him having been in that role once before as maybe it muddies the waters somewhat but, given our current incumbent has too, it's not out of the question either.

I expect Dyche will have Forest fairly comfortable by the end of the season.

It'll be interesting to see how he does with better players and bigger budget.

Dyche? Lampard? Who next, Benitez? If we keep going down this road to perdition we’ll end up with Davey Moyes, oh wait…..
