Manchester City U18s 2 - 1 Everton U18s

Everton U18s lost narrowly at the City Academy on Saturday morning when Manchester City came back after Olayiwola scored the opening goal.

The team's form has improved slightly while a number of new names have been elevated to to this level from lower in the Academy. They currently sit in 5th place with 19 points in the U18 Premier League North, with today's opponents leading on 27 points.

And another new name on the bench today: Levi Okorie

The Young Blues kept the high-flying Citizens at bay all through the first half and past the hour mark before Malik Olayiwola put them ahead. But they were pegged back inside 5 minutes and then went behind to a penalty conceded. And that's how it finished.

Everton U18s: Lukjanciks [Y:42'], Matos, Poland, Evans, McEveley, Akarakiri, Stewart (61' Robert), Olayiwola, Loney, Pita, Wren.

Subs not Used: Patrick, Billington, Adud, Okorie.

That’s not a bad result against City who are a very good team, obviously I don’t know what the performance was like but we have got some lads coming through with excellent potential, I’ll be watching Akarakiri, no 6 in that squad with special attention if I can get to see him in action, no bleedin chance on Everton TV without paying through the nose for it.

I might try and go to see them v West Ham in the next round of the FA youth cup if it’s at Goodison.

In other news, just to keep you occupied Michael, Harrison Armstrong was on the winning side again as Preston won 2-1-at Oxford, he came off with five minutes left just after winning a free kick for Preston.

Stanley Mills came on for Oxford at the start of the second half.

Yea, it sounds like they were doing well until they scored... and coul keep them out no longer.

Still need to add the team while I wait for The Big Game.

Talking of Academy products, I watched Issac Price for West Brom last night. He was okay... but not enough to get me out of my seat. Mind you, I had the cat sat on my lap and he digs his massive claws in if disturb him.
