Everton U21s got through to the Liverpool Senior Cup Final on Monday night, beating Warrington Rylands at Walton Hall Park.

The opening goal was a beauty. Harvey Foster slipped the ball through to Ceiran Loney on the halfway line and the big striker released Joel Catseby down the Blues left. Catesby delivered a lovely centre and Shea Pita (13') smacked it first time into the top corner of the net.

The second was even better. Catesby won a free-kick and Foster took it quickly, feeding the ball to Luca Davis (18'). The defender took a touch to steady himself and then unleashed an unstoppable 25-yard drive past the keeper. The visitors pulled one back before the break.

Everton’s two-goal cushion was restored early in the second half with another fine goal. This time, Catesby swung the ball in from the left, Loney directed his header back across goal and Demi Akarakiri (50') volleyed powerfully past the Rylands goalkeeper.

But the visitors stuck at it and pulled another one back, and could have levelled the score before the end. The Blues will play either Runcorn Linnets or Runcorn Town in the Final where they will look to lift the Liverpool Senior Cup for the 48th time in their long history in this competition.

Everton U21s: G Pickford, Davis, Samuels-Smith, Welch, Thomas, Foster (61' Bates), Pita (84' Lambert), Akarakiri (72' Benjamin), Loney (72' Matos [Y:84']), Olayiwola, Catesby (61' Graham).

Subs not Used: Patrick, Ebere.
