Yellow fever

Given the dark shadow of a two-game ban hanging over Fellaini, does Moyes keep the 'big Fella' on the bench against Hull or risk him missing both games against the Dark Side, should we be lumbered with some card-happy ref on Saturday?

Whatever happens, he's bound to pick up a yellow sooner rather than later over the next five games. We're far from a one-man team but I'd like him in for the League game at least so my reluctant choice is let him sit it out against the Tigers.

Hull are beatable without Screech, the RS are a much more formidable force, we also have the Arse and Manure straight after, so I?d leave him out for Hull and hope to keep him in for the next 4 games. It's 14 years since our last cup and I think that should be a priority.

I think he?ll play against Hull and if we?re up with 60/70 mins on the clock he?ll come off.... if he gets booked early doors, so be it ? he?ll be available for the games against Arsenal/Man Utd.

Well, what an effing FA Cup draw, eh? The very first two teams out, us and that load of shite! But that?s besides the point!

Regarding Fellaini ... we can definitely rest him against Hull but we need him against Liverpool in the league game. That should be a greater priority than the cup although I would shit a brick if we beat them in the cup but a league placing should be the higher priority (of course saying that implies we are extremely reliant on the young Belgium Fella-ini, which is true to a certain extent but not totally).

That said, if there was ever a game where he was going to be booked, it?s going to be the game against them ? probably along with half of the rest of the lads too!

I hate the draw but we can beat them, I wasn?t impressed with their performance against Preston and, as much as I hate to say it, they?ve done well so far this season so it?s about time they got knocked down a peg or (preferably) two pegs!

So who do we fancy in the 5th round then?

Fair point. I?d rest him up and give Gosling another run-out ? he deserves it. We need all the weapons at our disposal against the red shite.

Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Lescott Baines
Gosling Arteta Neville Osman Pienaar
Cahill

I?ve got to say as well that I?m not generally a Hibbert fan, but I thought he had the best game I?ve seen him play in a blue shirt against Chelsea. He could still do with pushing to get to the bye-line a bit more though, like Baines has been doing down the left.

Lescott is one booking away from a one-game suspension also; which game shall be get him to miss? How long is Yobo out for?

Good question. But perhaps just as important is: Can Moyes get someone in on loan of decent quality and quickly enough? Assuming there is someone out there who is cheap!

It may be that our needs and urgency have suddenly increased.

I would guess that he will play his strongest starting line-up against Hull ? that means the Big Fella from the start ? to ensure (in his mind) 3 points. After that, he will sit in the lap of the gods depending on availability.

I think it will be wise to play Fellaini against Hull, considering that we have a better chance in beating them than the other lot. Can you imagine everyone’s reaction if Moyes left him out against Hull and we dropped points? Don’t think it’s going to happen. Fellaini will play.

Fair comments above. We should at least keep playing Fellaini so he can build better understanding with his teammates. Need to think long term. We would be showing too much respect for Liverpool in benching Fellaini solely for those games. Having Cahill playing the derbies is more important.

As a local-level manager and former player, my opinion is you never set your team up based on pending suspensions. You play your best 11 for the game and if you're 1 card away then so be it.

What is just as worrying is that Lescott is on four yellows so we could potentially face the Shite at their gaff without Felliaini and Roger.

I know it?s against the rules, but I went to the Sunderland game hoping Moyes would have had a word in Fellaini?s ear about this. Pick up a booking in that match and he misses Macc away and Hull at home, two very winnable games. A shirt tug at 70 minutes or petulantly kicking the ball away would have been ideal. Obviously at that point I didn?t know the Cup draw, and now I?m even more convinced we?ve missed a trick.

Alas, what is done is done, but I would just like to suggest that rather than the derbies, the match we will most miss Mo in is Arsenal. The fragility of that team is apparent at the best of times, but I can?t imagine that they are particularly looking forward to a midweek encouter at Goodison in deepest winter, particularly with the physical presence of Mo and his aerial threat.

Heres a question: Have we ever lost a Monday night televised game to the red shite? Off the top of my head, I remember us beating them 2-0 in Royle's 1st game, drawing 1-1 in 97 when they equalised with a couple of minutes to go, the Kanchelskis derby double, Super Kev winner at Anfield, and the draw when Madar missed a sitter! I wish Moyes could instill that 90s derby mentality we had.

Never mind debating what fucking match to drop him from, how about teaching the big lump how to play football without running into people and hacking the legs from under them. At £15m quid he should be available for 40 games a season at least!!

I don't get rested when I fuck up at work, I get bloody sacked!
