John-Paul Kissock

Has anyone out there seen much of this kid? Moyesy puts him on the bench quite a bit, but I think he's 19 now, so I'd say it's now or never. I heard the club had really high hopes for him???

Oh aye right... another opportunity for Baxter-esque repartee...
Now you might not believe this but, when I was in the Spanish Fire Station talking to Jose and his half brother Hose B, John Paul walked in wearing a monks outfit, apparently he?s changed his name to John-Paul Cassock.
What!!!
Sounds like a nasty habit...
I saw him in ?Teens and Twentys? in the precinct last week, getting some ripped snow washed denims, like his hero Robert Warzycha used to wear and he said Moyes won't pick him because of his Eastern European fashion faux-pas!
I actually did see him play for Gretna last season as I work in Scotland most weeks and he was by far their best player. He?s very similar to Osman size-wise and plays a similar role. Gretna and the SPL aren?t great to compare the EPL with but hope that helps. Oh and he desperately needs a haircut unless he?s had one since he left Gretna ? head like a burst couch!
19 years old, and it's now or never? Today's game is much about fitness and strength, which some people don't fully develop as quickly as others. He would probably have been back out on loan if our squad wasn't so tiny.
This lad is a good player, he can play alright. I think Man City wanted to buy him for a couple of million as he had impressed in reserves before he went to Gretna on loan. We have some really good youngsters on the fringes at the moment and looking forward to them pushing for places. The future is Blue.
What do they feed our youth team midfielders, they’re all so bloody tiny? Kissock and Osman must have a combinded height of 5ft 4.
Why are so many blues so eager to say ?now or never? for our youngsters! We have consistently let our kids leave to then see them a few years later doing the business for another side in the Premier League (Jags, Leighton, Dunne, Michael Johnson et al.).
The fact is John-Paul is young and small. He probably costs us 50p a week so why let him leave for nothing or next to nothing? We need squad players and he is just that.
Did anyone think Ossie would make it at 19? No ? but we kept him on the books (for 50p a week) and found that at 23 he was a man and ready for Premier League footy. Today he is a consistent Premier League performer, as Andy Townsend said on the TV the other night ? Ossie guarantees you a 7/10 week after week. He?s no world beater but he does his job.
In the future John-Paul could do the same. I say keep him and see what happens.
Luke Brooks - took the words out of my mouth mate. Why the hell is it now or never Paul? Who?s to say he won't develop over the next 3-4 years and he?ll still only be 22-23 then? Plus what else is Moyes supposed to do, leave one less player on the bench than he is supposed to?
We have always kicked out players before they have been tried out. Clarke scored against Chelsea for Southend. Moyes only gives the subs about three minutes at end of games... when will Rodwell play again?
He’s tiny.
Osman didn’t really make it til he was about 21-22 for pretty much the same reason.
Also, he’s on the bench because we have to name seven substitutes now, not five.
Have seen him several times now ? including in a Liverpool Senior Cup match in Warrington ? and I have to say that in my opinion, he looked minute. Not only that, he was one of those players who looked comfortable on the ball, buzzed around a lot but had little end product ? a bit like Owen Hargreaves used to be. Maybe I?m wrong but I couldn?t see why he was rated so highly.
Nice spot, Paul, we?ve seen him a few times this season, and my kids keep asking "Why is the mascot warming up with the first team dad?". Now, they just piss themselves and say how nice the manager is allowing a child to sit on the bench. In the last few games they have been screaming for Moyes to play him.
Kissock is an inspiration. My 10-year-old now brings his boots to the game as he might get a chance to have a pre-match kick about with the men who earn lots of money for working 6 hours a week.
Kissock is the driving force behind an upcoming Teleteubbies communism. My daughter says the club are about to launch a new set line of Kissock nappies in the shop to grab the young supporters before we move to Kirkby.
He?s a political pawn poor soul. lets take out a child protection order before its too late.
