Away End

Comments (11)

In our upcoming away trip to Anfield in the league we have been given 2,948 seats from 45,362 (6.5% of the capacity of Anfield) and in the cup we have 6,100 seats (13.4% of capacity). So are the percentage rules different from the cup and league? (I assume so).

But then our trip to Old Trafford we are given 2,460 seats from 76,212 (3.2%). So are Liverpool being extra-generous, which I doubt, or are we only getting 50% of the proper away capacity for the Manchester United game? I can only think that we?re not confident we?ll sell more seats at Old Trafford, but in this case why are the criteria to get tickets for people with all kinds of away credits? I must be missing something crucial!?

We are giving Arsenal fans 2,800 tickets in Goodison which is 7%.

Dont know the exact figures, but the home team are required to give over 10% of seats to the away club during the FA Cup.

In the league, it's at the home clubs discretion, but over a certain percentage of the overall capacity of the stadium must be given.

I know it's not the same subject but while were running inquiries... can anyone say why Pavlyuchenko (you know who I mean) for Spurs was not booked for running into the crowd after scoring against Burnley on Tuesday?

Are there different rules in the League Cup?

I think the running into crowd taking shirt off style bookings are a Premier League ?initiative? to take any true emotion out of the sport and potentially ?offend? someone. The league cup is run by the Football League so they would have a differing view.

I think it’s 5% for league games and it’s 15% for cup matches.

Smaller percentages can be given for reasons of segregation or on ’police advice’.

Didn't see the incident in question, but Fifa rules REQUIRE a yellow card for shirt removal. And any sanctioned match is under FIFA rules. Leaving the pitch is also high on the list too, but there seems to be leniency.

What is the difference in price for the Prem derby v FA Cup?

You can have up tp 15% for away fans but police can have a say in it to.

Alex don?t be an idiot, as if we wouldn?t be able to fill United away!! We always fill our away end we took 5,000 to Boro and regularly take similar amounts to Blackburn/Wigan when we get that sort of allocation. As stated above it is 5% for league games and 10% for cup games but usually it cannot exceed 6,000 for security reasons.

Kevin, I know we can fill more than that, my point is, why are we only being given 2460 at Old Trafford?

And do you mean 15% for cup games? If it is 10% then the rule of 6000 as a max wouldn?t really apply to us: The Emirates being second biggest with a capacity of 60,000.

I too picked up on the very same point. How can they justifiably give us such a small allocation? ? it seems ridiculous? However, if these extra few fans are enough to take the title from under the noses of our neighbours again, then who am I to argue?

Colin, as far as I?m aware, Everton get the maximum away allocation at Man Utd. They?re just not generous with their away fan allocation for league matches. In fact one season, when a stand was being rebuild, I believe there was no allocation at all for away fans.

Everton could easily sell twice the allocation for Old Trafford so it?s not a case of us our being unable to sell out.

For FA Cup Games the rule is 15% of capacity, clearly there is some leeway due to how you are able to segregate parts of stands.

For league games it always used to be that the club had to offer you 10% up to a max of 3,000, of which the first half were sale and return and if you took them all the club had to pay for them all. Obviously they can give you more if they/police agree, or less if we don?t think they would be sold.
