Who Is He Watching?

Comments (24)

Just watching the Spurs v Burnley game on Sky and noticed David Moyes sat in the stands. Was wondering who he is watching as we don't play either cub fairly soon. Also noticed Spurs' first XI and subs is nearly full strength apart from Darren Bent. I'd take him on loan but with Moyes being there and Bent ain't playing, he is obviously looking at someone else. So, who is he watching?

Hmmm... Perhaps he's just watching the game of football... I believe he sees that as an important part of his job description.

Dick
Moyes would love Eagles, I cant remember the exact amount , but Burnley raised plenty of eyebrows by paying Man U several million for him, It would take a lot of dosh to prize him away, we cant afford him.

Redknap has publically slaughtered Darren Bent this week - impressive management - and if Moyes wanted him, I think Redknap would drive him here personally, given our current predicament, we could do a lot worse than try to get Bent on lone until the end of the season

Who know he may have just been there to keep his eye on someone, then again he may have just been to have a chat to his old mate Big Sam. I would not read too much into anything, as he takes a lot of games in. I would like to think that he has a striker in mind, as we have some really big games coming up, after the shite!

Moyes apparently offerred Dundee a cheeky 75 grand a year or two ago for very young Kevin McDonald (now at Burnley), who is a high quality young midfielder who is being wrapped in cotton wool by their manager and (strangely) was not played last night. He scored two crackers to knock Arsenal out and would be a quality signing if we could get him. He’ll likely shine in the prem in the next year or two and hopefully in the Royal Blue...all FM speculation for now though :-(

I can?t remember where (may have been the BBC site) but some Burnley fan posted at the weekend that he heard that two of their players were about to come to Everton. Thought nothing of it until the cameras showed Moyes at the match last night. Just coincidence?

Last time Burnley got to Semis of League Cup, Everton picked up a certain Trevor Steven. When we have bought players with a Burnley connection, they usually do well at Goodison.

I reckon it is Eagles as well. There was some talk a few weeks ago about him coming to Everton in this transfer window...

You know it?s just possible he just hates being married (many people do). I mean I?m sure there are loads of chaps who, if they had to choose A or B, would choose B. I know I CERTAINLY would.

A) Stay at home and spend the evening listening to your possibly not particularly good-looking, possibly more than slightly pear-shaped wife, go on and on about ?Mary?s bad knee?, or what a bitch Linda is or what some woman on Jeremy kyle said to her son-in-law or how the new butcher doesn?t look as ?clean? as Mr Davis or..."

B) Be picked up in a nice car and driven to ground X. Couple of free beers before kick off (and a single malt maybe - keep the cold out), chat to a few old pals, listen to big Sam tell a few of his disgusting BUT hilarious jokes. Watch the first half, quite exciting. Half-time - few more bevs, sausages, butties. Full time. Great game - quick bevvy. Extra time! (phone home say you?ll be late). Final whistle, good game. Into the lounge for a bit of ?corporate?.

Midnightish, big Sam suggests the Raj for a lamb bhoona. Your protests are met with "Cum on Moyseh, don? be a fuggin ponce!" - so you go (peer pressure - it?s a bastard!). 2:30 am, the driver spills you out at Ginger Towers.

Next morning you get a few dirty looks but you know (and so does she!) that it was ?work?. Tea, toast, quick flick through the Star to see who you?re buying, then... off to training.

I?m not saying this is what happened, but it IS a possibility and when asking questions, we need to consider ALL possible answers.

Yep, plan B works for me... we do need some pace down the wings; so Raj Vindaloo could be a steal, explosive qualities, like shit off a shovel...

I wouldn?t be surprised if we get nobody in before the window shuts. A few little enquiries about players here and there isn?t getting anything done. Saviola was waiting for a concrete offer but nothing has been done since first contact. I very much doubt Spurs will allow any of their players out on loan to us.

EJ ? are you talking about Moyes's "pair-shaped" wife?? BNrave man!! Great read

Ped - I?ve never even seen Mrs Moyes so no, not talking specifically about anyone?s wife.

Just making sure all possibilities were covered in answer to the question "So who was he watching?"

Come to think of it though, as he was a pro footballer, he might (as some do ? eg: Mick Lyons) have copped for a ?Miss.. something?, or tapped for local looker who appeared on a Huntley & Palmers Calender in 1989 or something (mind you, that was a while back now so maybe I wasn?t far off).

Just been watching Sky Sports News and the reporter they have based in the northwest who is trying to find out all the transfer news claims to have heard from a good source that Everton are now interested in Miguel Veloso???

Very surprised to hear this one as Sky?s reporters who are sent out to get information usually get it from club officials, also we haven't got a pot to piss in and I can't see Sporting Lisbon letting him leave on loan.

Oh by the way, he also said the shite have joined the race along with ourselves for Hugo Almeida. Now we all know which of these two stories will come true, don't we!

Robbie Blake, best player on the pitch; Eagles flatters to deceive... Patterson, worth a look. IMO the best player outside the prem is Giles Barnes, Derby's right winger looked good to.... Delph at Leeds is getting rave reviews.

Michael, if Moyes was ?just watching? a game of football as you put it, couldn?t he just watch it from the comfort of his own warm armchair?

Thanks for that EJ.

You know for 60 grand a week I wouldn’t mind his job. I mean, all he does is pick his fav 11 each game until one of them gets injured, suspended or knackered. Maybe not the knackered. Substitution is completely alien to him, and 7 extra players each game takes too much thinking.

I have just seen on SPN that Wigan are in talks with Boro over a loan move for Mido. Why hasn't Moyes pulled the finger out? Ok he's not my favourite player but he's a decent option considering we only have Anichebe. Mido is fast, strong and can score! He would be a great short-term option in my opinion.

Rumour was Moyes was looking at Eagles and McCann at the game. I would be made up if we got Giles Barnes from Derby, I think he would be a good buy.

It looks as though Jimmy Bullard is on his way to Hull City in a £5m move. We are told that we have no money but I think JB would be a great signing. If I win the lottery at the week end I'll make a bid!!!!!!!!

Here's hoping for a win on Sunday. We can do it if we go with a positive attitude. COYB

Maybe he wanted to see what a cup round looked like past the first or second hurdle as he?s yet to get that far after six years...
