Manchester United away

Just seen that the replay will be played on Feb 4th. Does this mean the United game is postponed as it's scheduled to be played two days earlier on the Monday.

I'm led to believe it reverts to the preceding Saturday, kick-off time to be decided, but have no confirmation of that.

Let’s rest everyone against Man U for the Liverpool game, if we get beat so what. Man U will go further ahead of Liverpool and then we can knock them out the cup too! COYB!

Earlier this evening Radio Merseyside announced that the game at Old Trafford will be played next Saturday. Details of kick-off time and any live coverage have yet to be revealed.

Anthony, posts like yours really get on my nerves! Are you an Everton fan or just anti-Liverpool! Liverpool are just another team! We should never do what you suggest to harm their chances as that would mean in the long term it also harms our chances!

I think Anthony may be getting a little carried away!! You mean well lad!! I do agree with Michael though. The focus should be on us. We have now shown we can compete even without our best XI! I think we are going to have good run here now! Home draw round 5, and i know we have the kopites to beat, but i think screech owes us here and can see him making the difference! COYB!!

Liverpool is the big game, not Man U away. I’d rather we had everyone in top condition for that game to make sure we have the best possible chance of winning without picking up more injuries to key players against Man U so that we have to play youngsters in the derby. It’s our only chance this season of winning a trophy and it would be silly to jeopardise our chances by risking more injuries. At the end of the day Moyes needs to bring in players desperately.

I openly admit it, I hate Liverpool and don’t want them to win the league and every die hard everton fan is the same. I would love it if we knock them out of the cup and end their season!

Agree with Antony. Gonna get slated here but lets face it, We rarely take anything away from Old Trafford other than a confidence blow. Why risk players like Jag, Mikel, Cahill etc, and lose (90% of the time) when we can focus all our energies into beating the shite in our last chance of bringin home any silverware this season. I'm not saying roll over and give United 3 points, maybe hand chances to youngsters etc...

Fire away ...

So, rest our players against Utd? And lose about 12 - 0, hammering our goal difference. Or we could be positive, get a result at OT, which would be a massive confidence boost! Set us up for the RS! ... easy!

One game at a time.

Suppose DM rests several players for the Old Trafford-match, and we lose. And then we get knocked out of the cup by the RS. I?m not saying it will happen, but it could happen. People will be all over DM for throwing points away, changing the team and getting these guys out of their rythm and all.

Moreover, with all these injuries I don?t feel we have the room to rest players. Yesterday, Yobo was the only player on the bench who I could see playing 90 mins at Old Trafford.

Erik, In fairness people might be all over him, but the odds on us getting a result at OT (Just look at the stats for x number of years on our results at OT)... Our chance of winning is slim at best. I agree with Si Kirwan, anyway a loss at Old Tarfford wouldn't be all gloom and doom would it? It would further hurt the RS?s fading chances of that elusive Premier League Title!!!!!!

One mate of mine suggested we should play the ladies at Old Trafford and keep the lads ready for Wednesday. Imagine the RS?s reaction to that, if nothing else it would be funny!!

Moyes will play his strongest team at Old Trafford ? make no mistake. He proved that in playing Fellaini against Hull and will only concentrate on his next game. Much as I agree with Anthony, I can?t see Moyes doing anything other than play his strongest 11.
