'Why are we still with JJB'

Comments (8)

After just watching the news and seeing the state JJB are in, why is our marketing department still using JJB to sell our shirts etc? Why can't we open our own stores instead of shutting them? Moyes states we have no money... surely at this level the club should realise there is a lot of money to be made from supporters' loyalties.

It's called a contract. Outsourcing. Terms and conditions no doubt prevent Everton from creating their own stores, even if they wanted to. Blame Mr Wyness... apparently it was his idea.

Opening and managing sports stores isn’t (and shouldn’t be...) one of the core functions of Everton FC.

I would rather they concentrated on the playing staff and performance within the stadium.

As for the future, well, that might depend on kirkby....imagine, everton merchandise in every tesco store in the area...everton shirts in every tesco superstore in the UK....

I heard little while back that Kitbag were going to be taking over the deal next year and that the shirts were going to be made by Le Coq Sportif.
Kit bag deal with Man Utd’s merch so I dont see how they could possibly do a worse job than JJB.

Contracts are contracts, but I’m always amazed it is always someone else’s fault that the club make no money from merchandise etc and not the fact that we as a fan base either aren’t really interested or don’t have the income to make it profitable for the club. I’m aware, and have experienced, the problems we can have obtaining goods, but the fact remains this might improve things marginally, but it will never be the cash cow some think.

I can tell you that JJB have lost the contract for next season, not a rumour.

Buzz is and its a good one , that as soon as the contract expires (or JJB go bust more likely) that they have a shop lined up in the city centre.

The contract with JJB expires on 30th June this summer.

By all accounts we have gone with a similar type deal with Kitbag (who hopefully can’t be as bad as JJB have been)

However I do hope that the rumours of LCS being the manufacturer next season are wide of the mark. They are woeful.

The club would make a heap more cash if they used a decent make (Nike, Adidas etc) How many times do you see people turn up to our matches in stuff made by them but belonging to other clubs??
