Not sold out yet!

Please explain to me why tomorrow night's match still hasn't sold out. The hard core away following seems to increase in size each year and yet, seemingly, we can't sell out an FA Cup replay at home against Liverpool! What's going on? 50,000 at Kirkby seems more and more like an impossible dream.

The Norwegians can?t make it over for a midweek game.
I would imagine people dont want to pay full price ticket for obstructed views.. I paid £36 for a seat in the main stand for a derby game last season, top left hand corner. Row OO or something like that. The view was a complete joke and to see the pitch I had to stand on my seat. I would much rather watched it on TV.
I?ve also had the same view at the back of the Gwladys Street and Lower Bullens.
@ Eric: We’ve a lot of fans in Ireland who can’t make it too, due to work commitments.
I agree with John I am sick to the back to the back teeth of what Goodison offers in terms of its facilities. We are in the 21st century now and a full house will mean someone draws a short straw in a crappy seat. Not worth it.
I can understand the cashflow shout but obstructed views I cannot, not in a game like this. I had an obstructed view at their ground, front row right behind the goal, 3 ft below pitch level. It's our biggest game since the Coventry game when we could of gone down, but if that is people's reason for not not going tonight then save your cash for Saturday, there will be plenty of none obstructed views there but I suppose it will be boring Bolton and the type of football they play that will be the shout to stay in the boozer.
The out of towners will just watch it on ITV
I would love to go, but they arent on general sale yet. I went to a few games last season but none so far this season. I’ll be keeping an eye on the official website though. A Ticket to the Mersyside Derby, its what dreams are made of...
Graham Eaves, Why will the "out of towners" watch it on tv? Is the remark supposed to be insulting to "out of towners", please clarify.
I am a season ticket holder and rarely miss home games. However, I live in Dublin so can only afford the time and money to travel home once every couple of weeks. Plus in the present credit crunch/recession thing, taking days off in the week is probably not the smartest move (although I couldn?t resist coming back for Arsenal last week).
The fact is, there were hundreds, possibly thousands of Evertonians (and scousers generally) forced to ?do a Tebbit? in the 80s. Blues who ?work away?, who can travel at the weekends, but find it much more difficult during the week.
Oh and to Steve Bowls, I would LOVE to be there tonight, restricted view or not. Tip: Ever tried moving your head slightly to the left or right? Worked for me against Bayern in 85 and instead of my memory being "Tut! I kept having to move my head!" it is "I was there!"
EJ, I?m with you on the restricted view thing, how hard is it to move your head? It also bloody annoys me when people moan about the facilities, you're in the ground for 2 hours (approx) ? if you can't go without a pie and a pint for that long, there's something wrong with you. If you need a piss you have to stand in a queue! So what? Some people just enjoy moaning, i just enjoy going to Goodison, and enjoying the whole match day expierience.
I?m not going tonight as I?m working down in London all week. Lame excuse I know, but can?t get back in time for kick off tonight. I?m sure there are others who are in the same boat.
Before anyone accuses me of being a part-timer I?m a season ticket holder with 7 away creds from this season - including Liverpool in the league and the cup!
To Kevin Davies,
Not at all, calm down
I simply meant that the convenience of watching the match at home as oppose to a 2/3/4hr journey in the cold, rain etc would be the easiest choice
I myself live in London now so would not be arsed travelling up, especially during the week - having to leave work early, drive/train, hassle etc...
Given the importance of maximum backing from the stands for the lads tonight I fail to see how an obstructed view is reason enough to let a RS sit a toffee’s seat! FFS!!!

I'm an Irish Evertonian who will be at the match tonight and I know there will be plenty of others like me flying over during the day to attend. However, regardless of who or how many attend, us who are there MUST rock the old lady and make up for the remaining empty seats if it turns out not to be a sell-out. We got to bring our full POSITIVE vocal support, flags and banners and roar the boys on. I for one will be flying my red hand of ulster and going home without my voice ? I urge every other Evertonian who will be in attendance to do the same. COYB!!
Tried to book 2 tickets last night. It would only allow me 1 ticket as an Evertonia member and these were for obstructed seats!!?
The club’s ticketing policy is a joke. I understand the idea behind the season ticket holders and regular match goers being given preferance but to limit ticket sales on the day before the game is ridiculous.
Its on TV, I dont have to travel from Derbyshire and freeze my arse off, but I gladly would have.
COYB.
it will be full come kick-off.
I will be there in my usual seat, freezing my tits off and listening to the bellend in front of me pay more attention to the ref than the game; however I would not have a go at a person who did not want to pay £33 for a cup game, coming straight from work when it is on the telly.
@ Kev Davies, You better not score against us on Saturday!!
I think it is a combination of the match being on the TV and the fact that the remaining seats are probably restricted view. Why pay that amount when you get a clear view on the box? I was at Old Trafford to see us on Saturday. I was with a couple of Manc friends in the "North West Quadrant"(!), ie just above and to one side of the Stretford End. What a magnificent view and a superb stadium. I know it sticks a bit to praise them, but it was a superb site and I didn?t miss any on field action because of a daft pillar! How I wish Goodison could compete with it.
C’mon, it’ll be full tonight mate.
People who live out-of-town now - like me - might have difficulty getting to the game.
I had to take a days leave to get over in time and still got a 250 mile journey home after the game.
We’d fill 50k for agame like tonight’s, if it was a Saturday afternoon at 3pm, as all league games fuckin’ should be.......
The tickets only go on general sale today. Look on the OS.
I’m coming from Neptune to watch the match tonight...
At 250 Zoggs for a return space ship it aint cheap.. but it’s worth every Zurlonnie...
C.O.Y.B
Not to worry, Eric. We can.
COYB
Andy - THis isn’t a league game....
I bet some people in certain ITV areas a little pissed off now they didn’t go the game
