Cahill next?

Comments (45)

Just read the gossip column on BBC sports page which says old baloon head Allardyce has asked refs to "keep an eye" on Cahill for cheating in the box to gain advantage without giving away a free kick. FFS, his sides have been dirty filthy pub teams for years... Cheeky bastard wants to look closer to home before he starts another anti-Everton player witchhunt with the FA.

I always thought Sam Allardyce was a good manager but I have to say after reading his comments in today's papers, he is a twat. I bet that Cahill gets a perfectly good goal ruled out tonight... I'm getting an Arsene Wenger slating Andy Johnson flash back here. We got no penalties for months and AJ got booked for diving. Allardyce, if you can't play fair... then fuck off!

The man is a charlatan and a born loser. He bigs himself up at every oppurtunity, he cannot understand why he isn't England manager and yet fails to realise that his team?s are no better than the Wimbledon side of the mid eighties in style. At least they won a fucking trophy.

Cahill will score tonight and we will win, I have no doubt. Can't wait to hear his moronic whinging in the aftermatch interviews. The fat twat.

Honestly, I think it will work in Cahill’s favour. The FA and refs hate Fat Sam. He’s dragged the name of the English game through the mud recently in tandem with his son. He’s always been on at refs complaining about them. Why does anyone think they’ll listen to him? The ref will most probably do the opposite and I’ll put money on Cahill winning a penalty tonight. I don’t think it would do us any harm for Moyes to talk about last year’s disallowed goal though.

Fat twat. I hope we make him eat his words tonight. I expect a physical game but Robinson won?t be in goal due to injury and Gamst Pedersen is suspended so it is a very good time for us to play them.

Hopefully Cahill can come up with a late winner. If we can keep Santa Cruz quiet we just might sneak it.

Wow, how easily Big Sam has wound you lot up. If you take what he is saying and turn it around then it is actually a compliment towards Cahill. It means Big Bomb Head is shitting his kecks at the thought of facing the TC. This can only spur our lads on and deflate his own players who will also start to worry about TC and his awesome reputation.

See, it's not so bad after all, I mean who ever listened to Allardyce anyhows?

Gavin summed it up in two words in the original post, "Cheeky Bastard". It really infuriates people like us Evertonians when fat pricks like him (Fat Sa,) come out with bile like this. If Timmy came out tonight with a fucking halo on his head, it's only human nature the ref is gonna watch him, all because of the rantings of a third rate manager like Allardyce. The next time he's at Goodison, we should give him some stick all game long... I'm so angry I could crush a grape.

I was going to post a mailbag article on this. What Fat Sam has done is bring the game into disrepute and the FA should sanction him. He is accusing Cahill of, in effect, cheating and also accusing FA referees of being unable to do their job. The FA should take action. Nothing short of a disgraceful and unsporting attempt to prejudice the referring ahead of tonight's game. If the FA allow such comments then how can you expect a game of 'respect' to the officials? Fat Sam clearly doesn't have any, and if he gets away with it, then why should any player?

I am not normally so incensed by press conference tittle tatter, but such is the obviousness of Fat Sam's ploy with this comment to prejudice tonight's game, I sincerely hope Blackburn go down, Fat Sam loses his job, and we never see either of them in the top flight again. No class whatsoever.

Allardyce is a sly one. Obviously he is looking to win. This game will be far from easy. I don?t care how ugly we win it, as long as we do!

My only concerns are that his comments might haunt Cahill beyond this evening (a la Johnson), and serve to unsettle the linesmen who will react to any infringement.

However, earmarking Cahill could distract the referee from Saha, Jô, Lescott and Fellaini who are equal threats to his underachieving defence. Further, referees? get frustrated when managers tell them what to do.

The game has already begun because Allardyce doesn?t believe his team can win it on merit. We should change nothing!

A bit off thread, but it never ceases to amaze me the fouls Carragher gets away with in a match. I have never seen a defender who wrestles and obstructs in a more sneaky way.

Of course the fact that our friend Alan Wiley is the Referee for tonight’s game doesn’t have anything to do with the outburst, it’s just the sort of excuse that that particular Referee needs to paper over his controversial decision making processes.

I’m sure I posted this earlier so not sure why it would be taken down, but this is no different to Moyes stating that he hoped Liverpool wouldn;t gain favourable treatment in a cup game. Granted Moyes didn’t stoop to name an individual though...

As for Wegner having a go at AJ... he had a point. Though AJ had cut out the diving by half compared to his time at CP.

I thought we were onto a looser here tonight with the ref anyway, Wiley. Does everyone remember his performance at Blackburn last year when he did not give AJ the penalty and then ruled out his goal for offside, and then his performance at Stoke earlier this season. He is one of the worst on the list, he does not need Big Fat Head Sam giving him any assistance.

Agree 100% Santosh, Jags has been a revelation in the center, I see no need to move him out of position just to accomodate Yobo. I would much rather have Neville at RB and Rodwell as holding mid (good to see him back in the side, by the way). I’m very confident about today

Tony Marsh, you ask who the fuck listens to Allardyce. Alan Wiley listens... and if what happened to AJ post Wenger is anything to go by, so will a lot of other refs. With both barrells blazing, Moyes should completely reject Allardice?s accusation and not do as he did over the AJ situation and hope it will blow over.

For proof of what I said about referee Wiley, watch a replay and note how many times Cahill is hammered to the ground from behind with any resulting free kick is awarded to his opponent. If nothing is done about this matter I would be very surprised if Cahill will survive more than a few more games.

In another throwback to the AJ case, I wonder how soon it will be before our own ?mailbag experts? start accusing Tim of diving.

Dick, the difference is that we are talking about Wenger and Allardyce. Wenger is a top respected manager, and Allardyce is just a fucking whinger.

If we are truthful, AJ did go down rather easy at times, and that went against him, even a lot of pundits were picking up on it. In Cahill's case, all the pundits love his style of play, and he is well respected, because of that, people will just shrug off the comments by Allardyce, just like the lads on Sky did tonight.

Good point Brian; however, I lost count of how many times Tim was flattened tonight or hit with an elbow first and got nothing from Wiley.

I am still wondering how they fouled Ossie, who had to go off and they then subbed their player and the sub was allowed to come straight on with Ossie stranded on the sidelines, how is that our advantage from a foul situation?

I am still fuming about last night.

I think Moyes should bring a charge of "bringing the game into disrepute" against both Big Fat Sam and Alan Willy. There was one incident last night which illustrated the evil plan. Cahill was back-pedalling, looking to control a long ball on his chest, when he was clattered from behind by 6’5" Chris Samba - who had taken a running jump and ending up booting Cahill in the back. The referee blows Cahill up for, the only reason I can think of is, throwing his body underneath an opposing player in an aggressive manner. The Sky cameras went to BFS and he was grinning like the Cheshire cat. Andy Gray’s only comment was that the free kick could easily have gone the other way.

Every time Cahill went near the ball, it appeared that he was either blown up for committing a foul, or he was fouled himself, but with no free-kick being awarded to the blues. It was a joke, but to be honest, how often do we any decisions at Ewok park? Remember AJ’s offside goal, when he was BEHIND the ball when it was passed to him, or when he was hacked down by Blackburn’s Georgian centre back (I can’t spell his name) in the penalty area, only for the ref to wave play on.

At the end of the day, the performance was as bad as I feared it would be without Mikky to pull the strings. My thoughts on the team’s performance:

Howard: Good save when Roberts broke through on goal and came for a few more crosses than he usually does. 7
Jags: Out of position and got caught napping a couple of times, but still played well. A couple of reasonable crosses too. 6
Yobo: I thought he did better than against WBA, when I thought he appeared a bit rusty and hesitant at times. 7
Lescott: Pretty solid at the back and almost scored in the dying minutes. 7
Baines: Defensively solid and tried to get forward as much as he could. Some dreadful free-kicks straight to their keeper though. 7
Osman: Too lightweight and hardly in the game. We need him to step up his game in Mikky’s absence 5
Neville: A good steady defensive performance, but the game passed him by a bit and he offered nothing going forward. 6
Rodwell: A tidy, if unspectacular game, some good defensive blocks. 6
Pienaar: Some good touches in the first half, but his final ball/shot is a real weak point. Disappeared completely in the second half when he look knackered. 5
Cahill: A huge effort from the victimised Aussie, where he was punished repeatedly for non-existent fouls. 7
Jo: Good effort early on, but disappeared from the game, only popping up to be flagged offside every now and then. I don’t think he is good enough for a team pushing to break into the top 4. 4
Subs
Saha: Didn’t get much of the ball, but looked more lively than Jo. 6
Fellaini: Actually looked ok when he came on - was it because the opposition were tired and his ’one pace’ game was less exposed. 6

Moyes: Not sure about moving our best centre half to right back, when we have a right back on the bench. Blackburn played a left back at left wing, so Jacobson should have been given a go. I also think he should have taken Jo off for Saha and played Cahill behind him, rather than going 4-4-2 with Cahill in midfield ? this takes Cahill away from their goal, where he is at his most dangerous. This will probably be the formation for the Cup match and so would give a heads up for that too. 5

We still have it all to play for, but we need to get Ozzie or Pienaar into the game more if we are going to create enough chances to keep the season alive. They are our most creative of our fit players.

I hope Big Sam chokes on his chewing gum. Did anyone else see him laughing his head off last night when his devious methods worked against Cahill?

As for Wiley, lay off him ? he didn?t give "mop-head" a yellow card ? that must be a first this month!! In fairness, Jo didn?t get the service to make any impression except in the first 13 seconds with that fantastic shot. If only that had gone in, it would have shut friend Sam up and made Blackburn play. The pitch was bad and slippery but we should have made more of an effort and Stevie P should have had a penalty.

Allardyce is a fat-headed, whinging, hypocritical wanker. He knew his plan had worked when he was spotted laughing after Samba had wrestled Cahill to the ground. Both Wiley (as per usual) and the linesman in front of the shed-like stand shafted us all evening. Clearly a penalty for the foul on Pienaar and, if I have got my timings right, it was never a foul that led to their shot against the bar.

The only good thing about last night was that this ale-house manager ended up back in the relegation zone.
