Yet again Everton's organisation comes into question

I have just seen the announcement for distribution of tickets for the Semi. I am glad to see that the most loyal of fans get priority of purchase of tickets ? the way it should be. However what does worry me is the amount of time that season ticket holders who have not attended any away games have to buy their ticket.
Let's face it, the majority of season ticket holders will not have been to an away game. Let's assume 50% have on the basis Everton's season ticket base is 25,000. So, on this assumption, 12,500 that have been to an away game get 13 days from 23/3 until 4/4 to get their tickets. I am OK with this...
Then the remainder, 12,500 from my assumptive figures have, ONE day on 5/4, which coincidentially is a home game with Wigan, to get their tickets. I can see a scrum of massive proportions happening, reminiscent of the scenes in 95 when many queued overnight for Cup Final tickets and being squashed in Bullens Road in the meantime.
Everton would be better announcing that the remainder of season ticket holders had, say, 7 further days to get their tickets.. spreading the load and the panic. I appreciate that they have provision of buying on the phone... but let's face it, the most robust of telephone systems will not cope with what is likely to happen to it on that Sunday! Season ticket holders going to the game in any case will panic and want to queue.
I don't want to be a whinger but simple organisation is lacking in the organisation of tickets.
Where are the online sales?? We are the forefront of technology and surely the technology they have can tell EXACTLY how many fans have gone to 13 away games, 12 away game, 10, 9 , 8 etc... to be able to organise something more effective.
I have e.mailed the customer service people but, going on past submissions from friends, they rarely get a response.... they just know we will come back for more no matter how poor the service!

The old system of selling the seats stand by stand was in my opinion an easier way of dealing with it. Also, it indicates that the best seats will go to those on a first come first served basis. That is fine if you happen to live nearby the ground, but what about those of us who live good distance away? Considering they have had plenty of time to come up with the arrangements they haven?t done a very professional job in what should be a relatively simple task.
Full marks for a prompt e.mail reply from the club clarifying re the slightly confusing website announcement text.
Monday 23 March ? the first day of Wembley ticket sales ? is NOT only for those who have attended all 13 home and away cup games.
Tickets ARE also available on that day to ALL those registered on the home auto-cup scheme ? and therefore only attended four games.
The bad stuff:
Wembley tickets for season ticket holders (who have not attended a cup game) available on Sunday 5 April ? the day of a home league game against Wigan ? surely some mistake??
You're going to look a right fool when Everton reply to your e.mail to tell you to look at the selling arrangements again. Instead of firing in e.mails of complaint and blaming everyone under the sun, why don't you sit down with a cup of tea (or something stronger) and read it again properly this time.
I am not too concerned about getting a ticket.... not actually getting it. Again I urge a response from them to sell to STH over a longer peiord... if it says that somewhere in the text, point it out to me as YES I have misread it but can?t see it anywhere!
So in my situation I can include going to the home cup games... that's Liverpool, Villa and Boro, and the home Uefa Cup game... so that's 4. I don't get to away games... wish I could!
Thanks gentlemen for urging me to read again and think about the interpretation. I just hope it is as I have now interpreted it! As for panicking... yep... defo. I am blue, I do it most weeks when I am sat watching them for 90 mins... that will never change!
If you have a look I would say the majority of STHs would've attended either 3 home cup ties or 4 (those being Standard Liege, Liverpool, Villa and Boro). In fact I suggest the club knows how many STHs will be eligible for tickets and on which day. That's why if you have 4 home cup ties you have got 2 days to get your ticket (Fri and Sat).
For the games against Liverpool, Villa and Boro, Evertonia members were given priority alongside season ticket holders to get their ticket, but now it's Wembley, Evertonia members have, so far, been given no mention. I don't think this is fair, and I especially take offence to the OS saying the most loyal fans will be given priority.
I dream about one day being able to afford to follow the blues home and away, but as yet my financial situation doesn't allow it. Does this make me any less loyal?
I thought I?d have a good chance at getting a Wembley ticket with an Evertonia membership and 3 FA Cup stubs. But when it matters, Evertonia members have been forgotten. The only reason I'm thinking about going to Wembley is because it's my birthday so my family are going to pay for it. Another dream dashed by EFC.
Does anybody realistically think I have chance to get a ticket living abroad? Any honest input, as sobering as it may be, is appreciated. Cheers lads/
COYB! Fuck Manure, the shite and just to be sure fuck Le Arse and Chelski, whoever we end up beating in the final...
Stop Panicking... although I know if it was me I would be too. The Club will be making a further announcement before April 6th and I suspect that will be concerning Evertonia members, ticket eligibility and any remaining tickets. The Club have a pecking order Shareholders, STHs, Evertonia then general public. I suspect that if you are in the last group you will be hard pushed to get a ticket.
If you don?t mind paying a bit extra, this can sometimes be the best way. For example when you want to get seats next to each other.
With all due respect to Evertonia members, that is not really comparable to a ST (I?m not interested in personal circumstance why and how people choose Evertonia over ST). Sort out the priority fans first ? look at how many tickets there?s likely to be, and then issue details for the next level.
And for those who live overseas, you?ve got no hope IMO, you get the nice weather, we get the tickets.....
It also makes complete sense that those who have been to the most matches, and therefore put more money in to the club should get priority. I do not understand how people think that because they live away and cannot get to many games, or cannot afford to go to games should mean they should have priority over people who go week in week and and pay upfront.
Also people say that loyalty should count. Does that mean my grandfather who is in his 80s and has supported Everton all his life should get priority as he has got 80 years of loyalty behind him despite not having been to a match for about 10 years? I thought not.
I have season ticket with 17 credits so I can get mine on Monday and will easily get one for the final (if we get there). But, as I said earlier, despite Everton’s problems in issuing tickets previously, they have got this one right.
I dont think those of us in the position you describe believe we should have priority. Believe you me, I understand why the club has done what it has, and a part of me agrees.
However, I do resent the fact that ?loyalty? has been equated with financial means. I have been an Everton fan all my life, but live in London, and am unemployed (god damn recession) and so simply cannot afford to travel up to Liverpool as often as I?d like. I am no less loyal to Everton because of this.
It just sucks that I stand absolutely no chance of being able to see my beloved Everton at the nation's stadium. It doesn't exactly make my situation at the moment any better.
But what could be done? Perhaps the FA not setting tickets aside for some phantom third team might help. lol.
I called Goodison today to confirm that I could buy both tickets at the same time so that we could sit together. I was staggered when the girl informed me that I could buy them together but only when my daughter became eligible.
As a single parent, I needed to buy the cheaper tickets to make it possible and my fear is that the people ahead of me (but by no means as "loyal") will now have a greater choice of location and ticket price. The response from Goodison was "So what?".
They need to understand that, although children are season tickets in their own right, under a certain age they are inextricably linked to the parent. I'm now in a position where I might not be able to go ? that's sad.
