Went the hall of fame do last night in the adelphi hotel. It was the best night ever. Big Dunc was there and gave a speech about the club and the fans. See link below to see the Big Man speak:

What a legend! Thanks for sharing that Andy, Big Dunc certainly livens up the place. Shame he isn’t interested in being a pundit or something, he’s a witty and intelligent bloke as well and would offer a bit of balance to the usual ex-shite wongers.

Absolutely brilliant. Watching that made me swell with pride. The Duncan chant took me right back to the Gwladys Street and the many memories both good and bad!

Agree with you Andrew it would be nice to see or hear more from the big fella, maybe on matchday coverage on the radio. (I don't want to use the term 'pundit' as that term doesn't seem appropriate when it comes to the big fella).

Thank you so much, Andy. I started going to Goodison as a lad just after the war ended, have seen most of the Legends but I must say this guy is something special. Once again, thank you Andy.

Love the guy to bits - one thing that I’ve always wanted to know about the "Big Man" though, and that is........What does he think about Everton fans singing a Village People song to him?

What a great tribute. I admit I found it hard to watch without the tears welling in my eyes and a large lump in my throat. What the big guy captures perfectly is how special it is to be an Evertonian and especially how proud he was to have been captain. This is a guy from Scotland, not a born and bred scouser; but like so many non-natives who have been priviledged to wear the royal blue, he fell in love with the club and considers it his home.

All Evertonians will empathise with him. We know how special it is to be a part of this great club, no matter how small that part may be. I know all supporters have a love and loyalty to their club, but I really do believe that the bond that exists amongst Evertonians is unique. Yes, they drive us mad with frustration and we have to put up with the cack that eminates from across the park, but we do, because we are Evertonians. We know we are special.

I have supported them all my life, like my dad before me (God rest him), and my son will after me and I would support them through any amount of bad times as well as the hoped-for return of the good times, because they are Everton, they are my team and they have more history and pride than any of the other so-called "Big teams".

I will put my soapbox away now!

I have watched this video a couple of times now and listening to Big Dunc speak gives me goose bumps. The man is a REAL LEGEND and its this sort of thing that makes us Evertonians far superior than any other footy fan on Earth. God Bless Dunc, we effin love you.

God bless you Duncan.

What makes Duncan a legend is that he totally understood as a player and still now in retirement 100% understands what it means to be an Everton player.

The Pride, The Privelidge and The Passion!

The guy bleeds Blue, just like every Evertonian.

That made me fill with pride and passion. God I love my club

Blees you duncan you are a true Everton general I salute you.

Duncan on fire was unmanagable for any defence and I’ve no doubt he was a very good player... unfortunately he squandered much of his career by trying to be the hardest forward in the world instead of the best.

I was enthralled and infuriated by Ferguson in equal measure... enthralled at his ability in the air and his eye for goal... infuriated by his needless red cards and violent antics which all too often left us bereft up-front when he should have been leading the line.

A canny defender would pull and niggle Dunc knowing that his reputation as a football hardman would cause referees to see Ferguson’s retaliation.. all too often pre-emptive.

He’s a legend... yes... but flawed. It could.. it should have been so better.

Good luck big yin

Well, all I need is a translation into English. I could barely understand what he was saying but no doubt it was better hearing it "live". Nevertheless, a great guy and I?ll never foget that goal he scored against Man Utd in the Park End and also that fantastic header he scored against Villarreal only for the bald one to disallow it... for reasons we still can only guess at.
