Panic yee not ? this is not the final league table... this is the number of professional players that each Premier League Club has in its squad. Considering we have Arteta, Yak, Vaughan, Anichebe, et al out injured, you can see why we are stretched.

Quality not quantity matters... I am sure magpie supporters would swap their position in the league with us for a few less donkeys on the books.

Utter bollox, Trevor ? if Kenwright would have pulled his finger out, we could have won something this year. He's failed to back Moyes once again... unforgivable!!

Mr Jones,

With a name like that why don’t you put your hand in your pocket.

I think most blues have known for a while that we need a bigger squad. We have been unlucky this season, with a plague of injuries and hats off to Moyes for doing his best to patch the side up with whats available. But i think in recent weeks we have just looked toothless.

We are in need of strength and depth in the squad and just hope we can get some decent players on board over the summer. Dig deep Mr Kenwright!

The fear is that rather than bringing in enough new blood to add the depth we need, instead we get treated to "like a new signing" spiel for every returning injured player.

I’d also say that though it would be great to have the back up we need for when injuries/suspension strike, 62 paid footballers in a squad is just crazy but that’s the RS for ’ya!

Utter bollox Rich. We still might win something, we are in the semi final of the FA cup. To forget that or simply presume we will lose is unforgivable mate.

If Kenwright is guilty of anything, it?s of not attracting wealthy investors. But that?s not the story here.

The story is that we are a club with nothing like the resources of Liverpool and Chelsea; even clubs like Sunderland and Blackburn can more than match us for money for players and wages; but, whereas our neighbours across the park have chronically underachieved, we are the great overachievers. And we?ve done that because of Moyes?s shrewdness in the transfer market and his determination to improve the quality of his squad year on year. But to achieve what he has done has meant paring down squad numbers to their current low levels.

This is an excellent statistic table Anthony and one that reflects admirably on Moyes and what he has to work with and what he has achieved. Sure, quality is what counts but you can have a lot more quality to choose from when you have 60 players and not 30 hence the top 4 in the table and why they have been the top 4 for several years now.

The more money you have to play around with the more top drawer players you can attract and use when the injuries happen. Teams like Everton have to use lesser quality players and inexperienced youngsters to get by.
