Conspiracy ahead of the Semi finals

Comments (12)

Is it only me who's racked off by the comments from little ol' wine drinker Ferguson? Apparently the "Great One" has named Moyes as his successor and Sky have duifully reported it. Well that's that then!

This annnoys me on a few levels. First, is the arrogance of the teacup thrower that he can make such pronouncements about another Club's manager. Of course he has previous with the Rooney saga and many other instances, but this doesn't make it right; surely there must be an appropriate FA charge for this kind of comment.

I know it shouldn't, but it also annoys me that Sky immediately stand square shouldered with Manure on this with any pretence at impartiality thrown out the window.

Finally, it seems like a bit of unsporting gamesmanship a fortnight before the semi-finals, to unsettle our manager and team with this kind of comment.

I am not stupid, I know Moyes will eventually move on and the link to Man U is not a new one, but for Ferguson to come out with it himself is, for me, not on.

First off the story needs to be taken with a pinch of salt as its coming from that rag the sun. Secondly, no where on anything I’ve read (apart from the heading) does Ferguson say anything apart from "he’s done a good job". Unless I’m looing at the wrong sites then i can’t find anything with him actually saying he wants Moyes to succeed him. Do you happen to have a link at all?

If he did say it then I’m certainly with you as that’s pretty arrogant of Ferguson...but we’ve come to expect such arrogance from the man.

Fergie and those mind games... aye, the best thing to do is ignore it.

I might be kidding myself but I honestly don't think David Moyes will leave Everton unless the day comes when he feels it is impossible for any team to beak the top 4.

I just feel that Liverpool have Shankly and Paisley and Utd have Busby and Ferguson. Moyes can have his own legacy at Everton ? particularly if he can break the top 4 and get Champions League money to spend.

I think any team in the top 4 can win the title and so why would Moyes move on if he has a chance of winning things with Everton? Moyes and Everton still have a long way to go but so did Man Utd before Ferguson took over up there.

I’m not sure how this is designed to upset us or Moyes. It’s a compliment. If anything, Moyes will take confidence from the comment. I think Moyes and all of us are sensible enough to both SAF attempts at mind games and that Moyes most definitely will not succeed him at Old Tryford.

9/11 - definite inside job. JFK definitely not shot by Oswald and Monroe definitely taken out by the CIA ? (all allegedly and in my opinion - legal disclaimers etc). SAF comments re Moyes, not one to add to the list sorry.

"Any supporters who have purchased tickets on more than one customer number should note that it will not be possible to merge records in order to reach the required sales criteria. "
Wembley tickets our club what a disgrace, as usual! So I have attended enough games but not on my customer order number although I have the stubs. I have to now, in future when booking tickets with my friends phone once each Time separte so we can prove our loyalty now I can’t get my wembley ticket pricks.

Why does he ever have to leave Everton??? If he breaks into the top 4 in the next few years then why go??? Before United had Fergie, they were a pathetic excuse for a big team... Christ, they hadn't won a league since the Best years!!!

re Dave Mathieson - sorry pal but why are you complaining? Every time you buy a ticket it says that you can not put the ’loyality’ points on afterwards.

The club have to be fair as the demand has way outstripped the supply.

For once I can’t see that they have done it too bad at all

Imagine I have a son, I go the game four times with him one adult ticket and one child four different home games. Then I would only be entitled to one ticket from monday because all of them would be under one customer order number. If this were to be the case It would be impossible for me to do anything about it unless I got my son a ticket in his name and he had his own customer refernce number how likely is that? That is why the system is flawed massivley! Every ticket at Goodison should therefor be accountable to the person who is sitting in it because it would be impossible for me to sit in two seats.
My friend has been to like 9 games this season an booked the tickets for me leaving me with just the stubs but in his name he has nine bookings of two or more tickets for different home games and is only allowed one ticket peoples club my ass sure there will be loads of free bees though for more loyal fans eh.

The story was rubbish if you actually read it then you would have recognised Fergie’s comments as having been the ones he made prior to our last meeting with Utd and nowhere did he say Moyes should replace him. The Sun just regurgitated these previously printed quotes and created an unrelated headline that gave a false impression.

Personally the way things are going north of the border at present, I am more worried that we might lose DM to Scotland in the next year or two ? I can?t see George Burley doing the business for them and Moyes might be hailed as their potential saviour for qualification to the Euros in 2012 should they fail to get to the World Cup in 2010. In my opinion, Mark Hughes would be more likely to be the next manager at Old Trafford.

Moyes lacks European pedigree. The first real time we came up against anyone who where not all that great and we get beaten. Zenit had an easier ride through to the final in my mind.

And his (Moyes's) tactics are embarrassing to say the least. Don?t kid yourself he master-minded the teams over the past 4 months... the only thing that happened is the team picked itself because of injuries. If he went to a top 4 club, you know as well as I do his tactics would be found out and he?d be kicked out the door.

Moyes was on TV ? I think it was the BBC earlier in the season, Football Focus or something. He said he had spoken with Bobby Robson when he said he was thinking he couldn't take Everton any further. Bobby Robson had told him it had taken him many years to find success with one of his first clubs... he needed to hang in there.

The truth is Moyes has it very easy with us, since we are meant to win nothing but mediocrity in 5th or 6th outside the Champions League slots. How long do you think Man Uts fans would put up with boring football, ie, hoofball and negative tactics from Moyes??

@Peter Wilkes:

We beat Zenit in the Group stages. They went on to win it. Not really getting your point.

So injures mean the team picks itself? The team comprise of players chosen by Moyes. Ergo It is testament to the squad of players he has assembled that they can still be competitive in the league.

Man U fans stuck with Ferguson well past his "Peter Wilkes sell by date". We haven?t competed for the league in 20 years and we have relatively piss all money yet in your eyes a half decent manager (assuming you think Moyes is less than that) could turn us in to a top 4 mainstay?

Hoofball or 40-yard pass ? style of play is always subjective. Let?s just stick to the facts. We have been in or about Euro spots for 4 out of the last 5 years. We had 3 players called up to the England squad in the last friendly. We are still in touching distance of 4th, almost cemented 6th, have a FAC semi upcoming and have a manager who has won the LMA MOTY twice.

I believe if we were a richer club, with a better pedigree over the last 20 years ? and not sharing a city with a big bloated red parasite ? then we "might" be able to attract a better manager than Moyes.

I couldn?t give a toss whether he is good enough for Man U, I just think he is more than good enough for us.

Moyesy and SAF are big buddies. Could be SAF was firing this particular warning shot across the bows of BK, reminding him that Moyes needs money in the summer. (An SAF favour for Moyes?)

SAF would rather be fighting for trophies with us than the Red Shite.... Just a thought.
