Just when you thought it might be a definate conspiracy your worst fears are realised. Not expecting too much help to beat the Mancs and if the BBC's version of Fellaini the hatchet couldnt have come at a worse time... what else could they throw at us? Mike Riley is to officiate on Sunday... COYBs

Can?t really see what the fuss is about..... Over the last 2 seasons Riley has reffed 9 Man Utd matches ? 16 Utd bookings(and 1 sending off) opposing teams 13 bookings
Reffing Everton 7 times he has booked 5 Everton players (with 1 sending off) and booked 15 opposition.
Hardly biased in my opinion, even then though I can?t stand the weedy sod either!
I would like to think that the referees are above that kind of bias. However, I think that this situation should be avoided by the FA. It would save them any bother should there be any contentious decisions. It’s one thing for the FA to try and defend a decision that fans claim the referee got wrong, but when people start claiming that he didn’t just get it wrong, he in some way cheated, the FA will really be in the shit. But then again, they’ve never given a rat’s ass about what people think before have they?
I don’t see the point in discussing refs anyway. Let’s face it, we would be able to pick fault with most of them. Given the choice I would have probably gone for Howard Webb, but he didn’t do us many favours on Sunday. I still think he’s one of the better refs though.
One thing I do hope is that Mr Riley is not spending too much of his time on Sunday watching Fellaini, after the shameful piece on MOTD2. I know it’s been said on other threads (and the Big Fella does need to watch his swinging arms) but after a hum dinger like that, all they could do was pick at Hibbert and draw attention to Fellaini. I mean FFS pulling archive footage from games months back to prove their point. I wonder if they’d have done that if Shearer had been one of the pundits. Remember his frequent offences with the elbow? We could have sent an hour long montage of some of his transgressions I’m sure!
Anyway, who gives a crap, I prefer us being the underdog anyway. We never have been the best when we’re favourites.
COYB!!
Likewise last season Andy Johnson was singled out for a review of his ’diving’.
I wouldn’t call that positive and fair!
Anyway we may just have to enjoy our day out on Sunday as it may be another 14 years before we play at Wembley again.
They consistently put us on MOTD as one of last two games (I?d love to see the stats since the PL was formed) and if Sunday nights display was what you describe as positive and fair then I hope I never have to play in a side that you?re captaining or managing!!!
Anyway...Old Mother Riley or not here?s hoping the lads display the togetherness and fighting spirit (and a little class) that we need to win at the weekend and stuff the media right where it hurts.
COYB!
They may mention Arteta being an ’arsenal type’ player, what the fuc does that mean - because he’s good he cant be considered an everton type player i.e. hardworking, talented and effective.
Of course the bbc are against us, they cant possibly want us to win anything, it would confuse people if we finished ahead of villa and won silerware and the billionaire villa won nowt.
It is never mentioned that in total Everton have outpplayed villa in all 3 meetings, that we have played better football over the season and we are without 2 of our best players (yak and arteta). yet if villa lost young and carew it never fails to be mentioned.
You get praise if you have money, becasue they can easily say they will be the next challenges, if you dont have money they dont like it. The creation of the premier league was to dismantle the unpredictability and have a few duperpowers to concentrate and maximise profits, just like in international business. Everton, currently, are against that and that is bad for the Premier League.
If we get a billionaire owner, everyone will all of a sudden go ’well, weve always thought they are the team to break the top 4’.
But personally, Fuck the BBC, Fuck Sky and Fuck the Premier League.
Its all gonna blow up and go bust sooner rather than later, and UTD, Liverpool and Chelski with their 500mil+ debts will be fudged.
Perhaps then we will see some real football.
What is Mike Riley’s full record when refereeing Man United matches?" asks Benjamin Thomas.
With Mike Riley seemingly giving at least one penalty every time he sets foot inside Old Trafford, he was accused of pro-Manchester United bias long before his erratic performance in the Arsenal game ten days ago. But a leaf through the record books shows that United’s record in matches that Riley has refereed is surprisingly modest.
According to our research, which goes to back to the beginning of the 1997-98 season, Riley has refereed 23 United games in all competitions. In that time, their record is: W13 D3 L7. Of more interest to the conspiracy theorists, however, is the fact that he has given 12 penalties for United in that time, but only three against them. And he has sent off five of United’s opponents, while booking 44, as opposed to dismissing two United players - Roy Keane for raking his studs down Gustavo Poyet’s leg in the 2000-01 Charity Shield, and Luke Chadwick for a professional foul at home to Liverpool in the same season - while booking 36.
At Old Trafford, Riley’s record is weighted more heavily in favour of United, though that is to be expected given that they dominate more games at home. United’s record is: P14 W10 D1 L3, with ten penalties for United and one against (again Liverpool were the beneficiaries, this time when Gary Neville took Steven Gerrard out last season), and with three red cards and 26 bookings for United’s opponents as against one and 14 for United.
Yet a look at the penalties Riley has given United suggest only two were truly dubious: the one against Arsenal last week, and another in a 7-1 thrashing of West Ham in April 2000 when Nicky Butt appeared to trip over his own feet as he went round the goalkeeper Craig Forrest. Many have been pedantic-but-correct decisions: in the 2002-03 season alone, for example, when Riley gave United seven penalties in five games, Everton’s Alan Stubbs and David Weir, Liverpool’s Sami Hyypia and Middlesbrough’s Ugo Ehiogu were all penalised for shirt-tugs.

If we loose, he is dirty cheating red bastard that should be banned from ever refereeing another game of football... this should be passed on to his children and their children.
It's all a Sky 4 conspiracy and Everton should make a stand and resign from the Premier League and never enter the FA Cup again.
