MotD ? Again!

Comments (12)

Following on from the scandalous coverage on MOTD2 following the Villa game tonight I witnessed yet more anti-Everton slant by the BBC.

Whilst acknowledging that Man City fully deserved their victory today, the highlights package was yet again an absolute disgrace, showing next to no Everton attacks and surprisingly omitting the penalty appeal for the handball against Dunne amongst other contentious decisions by our favourite referee, Wiley.

How they failed to show some of the tackles going on and Given's reaction to Gosling's challenge I do not know. Best of all, the BBC website was carrying an absolute classic interview with Moyes after the game with that horrible cretin Tony Gubba (yes, I still remember you jumping up behind the goal after Whiteside's goal in the 85 Cup Final) where Moyes, in a dark mood, slated the BBC's anti-Fellaini stance amongst other things. How they then chose to edit the interview to show none of this is beyond belief.

Finally, to all the doubters and moaners, get off certain players' backs and remember where we were and how we were playing around the end of October. The players have done us proud this season with a wafer-thin squad.

Keep the faith.

I am yet to see MOD, but guessed that would happen. Apparently, according to Hansen, elbows are OK if you?re Carragher!

I also second your point about slagging players off ? particularly Ossie and Hibbert who are the usual scapegoats. All day behind me Osman was being slated ? calling for Gosling to come on. Yet did he say anything when Dan gave the ball away in a dangerous position that nearly led to another City goal (and no I?m not having a go).

Absolutely gutted for Jags ? let?s hope he recovers in time for next season

I never bother with MoTD anymore ? it's shite and biased beyond belief. The Man City fans stopped in their tracks and went silent after Given punched Gosling in the throat ? even they knew he should have walked and were just as amazed as the Park End when the ref did fuck all again for the umpteenth time. I?m almost amazed the ref allowed the fourth official to give 7 mins stoppage time as he overruled every other decision.

I have seen the full game back on BTvisions Premier League package ? I can't stand MoTD. I have to admit it would have been harsh to give a pen, Dunne knew nothing about it, it was ball to hand. Given, on the other hand, should have walked, how many players have seen straight red for putting their hands in another players face?

Wiley had a shocker no doubt, but he wasn?t as bad as we were yesterday, too many poor performances.

Given should of gone no doubt.
but I think a little credit should be given to young Danny G, how many players would off been rolling on the floor in agony after that?
if it happened at the other end do you think Elano would of reacted in the same way??

MOTD really should go out on CBBC as its coverage and analysis are sub-Shoot level. Lawrenson is as camp as an off-duty pantomime dame while Hansen has taken the art of the cliche to a new plane. It makes Sky?s Saturday pm show look like University Challenge.

Meh, what do you expect, two ex-Liverpool guys so we aren?t going to get much favour from them.

These guys are picked because they can say the most mundane, banal and superficial comment in a tone of voice and manner that conveys utmost importance and authority.

Public intellectuals they are not! Amazing how these people get a platform on prime time TV isn?t it?

As Moyes is so obviously pissed off with MoTD and we all hate it, why doesn?t he ?do a Ferguson / Allardyce" and boycott interviews with the BBC? Everton as a club should also not extend any hospitality towards the Beeb and make them feel wholly unwelcome inside Goodison.

With comprehensive Sky coverage and internet highlights available, we are not in any way dependent on Lineker / Hansen / "Lawro"/ or that fat faced twat Adrian Chiles, so fuck them off I say.

Not really sure why Gosling should be given credit for not falling on the floor - surely getting us an advantage is his job?

Not sporting I know but winning is the more important thing surely?

Did you notice too that the dick doing the comentary said that the crowd were booing Everton after they cheered them on the pitch and not mentioning that we were actually booing the (so-called) ref after he missed a blatant handball during the attack. Makes you want to barf.

Mike Valentino, look again, if it IS the trailing arm, well fair enough, no pen.

But Dunne is running in with his arms at the usual right angles bent at the elbow mode, gets in front of the ball and the lower arm flicks down... PENALTY.

Never, ever listen to the bellends on the couch after our game. They haven?t a clue most of them and are too busy tarting to big up their "own" clubs and favourite players.

Sky are not any better, last week we were playing the "ManUre Reserves" however on Wednesday after resting our players we were "Injecting fresh legs into the team", you couldn?t write that shit if you tried.

Pundits are useless and biased and do not want to upset the "bigger" teams for fear of reprisals a la Ferguson.

They didn’t show Osman fouling Robinho in the box either.
