Wasn't it delayed until November? Or am I thinking of Jagielka's return to full fitness...

Sorry, I've been lying in the sun...

Not that he’s the one to make the decision but, a mate of mine had a chat with Andy Burnham the other day. He is firmly of the opinion that the Kirkby proposal doesn’t stand a chance in it’s current form, and that any modifications that wil enable the SOS to give it the go ahead would make the stadium unfeasable.

We all knew that anyway, but nice to hear it from an official source.

The decision was delayed until November. Please no more "my mate" rumors ? people in positions of responsibility in these matters don?t talk openly about these things if they actually want to keep their jobs long enough to make those decisions.

Folks, Please discount this fund which Peter Reid has been appointed to as a football advisor ? it?s a non-runner for the purposes of taking over either ours or even a Championship club.

This is a yet to be launched investment trust which will depend on its ability to source third party investors in order to raise capital. Its investment remit looks to be much broader than would be the case were it to focus all of its investment funding on one club. Rather if (it's a big if at the moment), the fund gathers sufficient capital then its investors will demand a diversified portfolio... shares across a few clubs, shares in Sky, listed agent firms, sportswear companies etc etc.. A fund such as this is also not conducive to making large-scale funds available twice a year for transfers and increased wage costs either.

In short, this is not a viable proposition to buy one club in isolation ? be that Everton or Exeter.

The only thing "people in responsibility" don?t talk openly about is their expenses claims.

Sean Allinson. We will all be glad when we get some confirmation from an ?official source?. Funnily enough, though, you posting a comment on ToffeeWeb from your mate who had word with some MP is not, in some quarters, recognized as ?official?. That makes your statement contradictory and you a plonker.

There is every chance Kirkby will get thrown out but, if it does, trust me matem you (or your mate) were no more in the know than me. That is because I have a mate who?s uncle has a pet dog who knows Bill Kenwright's niece... and he told me.

Heard from a mate of mine who works for Knowsley that it has already been approved by the inspector looking after the case. Time will tell if he’s proved right.

Just so I know where to park my car next season, I take it there is no likelihood of New Anfield in the foreseeable? Does anybody know for sure?

Paul Connell - See the bit where I said - ’We all knew that anyway,’ - that’ll be because I was accepting that it wasn’t exactly new information, just confirmation of some widely held views.

Hmmm? ’Official’ , well that’ll be because the person you describe as ’some MP’ was, at the time of the Inquiry, Minister for Culture and SPORT. He is also a confident of Kenwright and I’m guessing knows a lot more than you or I.

I am not trying to pretend that I am ’in the know’, simply passing on some absolutely genuine information that some Evertonians might find interesting. If you don’t, just ignore it.

As for calling names, grow up.

With all the trouble that both Everton and Liverpool are having developing their own grounds and the City council more than willing to help in a shared effort I can't believe it hasn't been considered more!

Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that we have Goodison Park and all its history giving Everton its own identity. But I think that as things are we are moving into the next stage of football development.

So many clubs have or discussing a New ground to play in, that would accommodate its supporters to the expected level.

A ground shared is a ground halved, so it would be much better financially! It would mean less of a debt to each club in building a larger quality ground. Its the logical thing to do and hate and dislike shouldn't even be considered!

The San Siro is a massive footballing icon shared by two of the biggest teams in the World and if they can do it, why can't we?
