I don't know what kind of TV coverage you get in the UK but here in Oz it is almost a case of too much of a good thing.

Not so long ago we were lucky to see our game mentioned in general news bulletins. Nowadays, on Sky we have the choice of all Premier League and World Cup games. Free to air SBS shows all Champions League games plus others from around the world. We also get world youth and ladies tournaments plus all A league games.

That brings me to the Confederation Cup currently being played in South Africa where our Steven Pienaar has just put in a best on field performance in SA's 2-0 win over New Zealand.

It was great to see Pienaar playing an eyecatching game, in the middle, not on the wing. Moyes would have been taking notes... hopefully, nobody else did and lodges a bid.

What's your point, Richard me old son?!! You're lucky to have such wonderful coverage ? I'm currently in NZ with your not so illustrious neighbours across the ditch and they get fuck all over here!!! I couldn't believe it when they showed the Cup Final!!

Anyway, pleased to hear Stevie P played well ? damn fine player ? but I'm getting a little tetchy to say the least ? we need to start procuring players before the pre-season games and as fucking usual there ain't no action in the Everton purchasing department!!

Also, I've noticed a distinct lack of activity from our fellow webites... has this new registration thing caused problems?? Personally, I think it's a must ? too many dicks before just wanting to stir up shit then leave the site...

I just think its the fact that there isn’t a lot to talk about Sam, as proved with this post. A guy moaning that there is too much football on telly!! There is no such thing as too much football on telly!!

On the matter of too much football on the tele...i do agree that outside of the UK, we do get a lot. Will the day every come when I only need to subscribe to EvertonTV and get to watch only Everton matches because quite frankly, I don’t care about the Confederation Cup, Italian/Spanish/Scottish/German/French leagues...etc

Why does professional overpaid athletics need need a 3 months break anyway? They should be made to play 11 months every year. I hate summer breaks

I have to say, what I’ve seen of the confederations cup so far, I’m not sure it’s worthy of being called ’football’. Some pretty poor stuff - maybe I’ve missed the good games??

Oh I don’t know Joeynkoo, that moment when the hapless SA striker managed to clear a team mates shot off the goal line in their opening 0-0 game was pure comedy.

Back to Dick’s original post, which like others I couldn’t see what the "problem" is, here in Singapore it’s heavily covered.

As well as ESPN STAR Sports (who no longer have BPL here & Thailand, but broadcast out to 24 other countries), there’s the Football Channel.

So as well as most games being shown live, there’s loads of pundit shows (big turn off) and other shows interviewing managers / players etc.

Pound for pound, a lot better value than Sky / Setanta.

No more Nokia Football Crazy though from next season, so where will we get our fix of Jamie Yeo? (She’s a girl by the way for the un-initiated!)

Dick, you obviously don?t remember the sad old days in Oz of getting a single one-hour highlights show on SBS for your weekly football coverage and the Cup Final at the end of the season! Thankfully these were our Walter Smith days so I didn?t miss much but waiting for the phone call from my sister to tell me whether it's Liverpool or Tranmere in the derby next season is something I hope to never experience again!

Not only have I been able to witness almost every game of my beloved blues season this year but I?ve reallly enjoyed watching the French, German, SPL and Dutch leagues, as well as the league play-offs and the Blue Square Premier, which I would add have shown me some of the most exciting games of the year. Currently I?m getting my fix through the Uefa Under-21s as the CONFED Cup is always a bit of a non-event I find, although I will try and catch the SA semi so I can witness what damage Peanuts can do in the middle.

Saturation Point? Keep me drenched please!
