At any club, whether it be in the Football League or in the Premier League the manager is ultimately responsible for what transpires on the pitch.

I have always backed Moyes, because I believe him to be one of the best young managers there is in the game. However, for the first time I am questioning his motives & integrity. Our poor start of the season must be attributed to him. He has yet to sign his contract, which we were told was ready to go many times before. He asks for 100% commitment from his players on the pitch, it is not unfair for those players (or us fans) to ask the same commitment from him.

He seems to be hedging his bets a bit and playing a waiting game. If poor results continue & his contract remains unsigned the more & more fans will turn against him, making his position at the club all the more questionable.

We are told the players are committed... the fans certainly are. Are you David?

I guess it's at least a day since we had one of these threads... and Davey still hasn't signed on or walked away... so let's all take another run at it!

If Moyes doesn't want to sign then sack him. His contract hasn't got long left to run so the compo won't be that much. We could get shut on the cheap but if he does sign and we want rid of him in the futurewe are fooked. £16 million for four years???? You couldn't make it up could you? Only at Everton.

How many times does it have to be said before it sinks in!!! David Moyes said publicly that his contract was with the Board and he was waiting for it to come back to him from them.... therefore it isn?t him holding the contract up is it??

Up here in Glasgow, everyone knows that as soon as both Celtic and Everton have no further interest in Europe then David Moyes will be appointed Hoops? manager. Strachan?s had enough and Davey is just biding his time before he returns home for a ?head to head? with Walter!

Hopefully in this so called "heated" meeting with the manager, some of the players have got a few things of there chest and let rip into Moyes that there not happy with the shite hoofball tactics he seems to insist the players to play recently and that all of ’em have told him they want to play football properly and on the ground and that they want to play in there natural positions and that Moyesy should trust ’em to play the right way and produce positive results by playing the correct way, you know its a two way thing when it comes to how the team plays, its obvious Moyes likes the direct option more often than not but he should understand that the players surely want to play football the correct way, on the deck, Moyesy has got to stop being so stubborn and release the team from its reigns and let ’em play the way we know they all can instead of the shite he’s making them produce now!! if not then he can fuck off up to Celtic and take Neville and his Wimbledon tactics with him!!

John he may be off to Celtic and I know hes not signed on again but he is still being paid under his old contract. This means that he has got to do his upmost to keep us in the UEFA cup and also to get some reults hopefully with some attacking football. After that he can fook off north of the border if thats what he wants but they will soon wise up to him.

I’ve spoken with a few Celtic fans. They don’t want Moyes anywhere near their club. They’re all fully aware of his dour negative tactics. I’ve tried to persuade them otherwise and hope that word spreads just so he fucks off and leaves us and we don’t have to watch his crap.

Neville would be brilliant up there too.

John, If what you say is true couldn’t we simply do a swap. Strachan has achieved wonders with what is a fairly average team at little expense. He also encourages them to play attractive football in contrast to Walter Smith. He has worked minor miracles with Celtic in the champions league in past seasons and they’ve punched above their weight in my opinion. Which begs the question why on earth would you want Moyes?

Moyes has been shafted by Big Bill that is for sure. On transfer funds and probably contact.

Should he leave, there is only one former player I want to see managing a club. The legend, the man mountain, burglar beating, defense tormenting former striker....Mr Duncan Ferguson.

He is the only player I know who has the team logo tattooed on his arm. People think Roy Keane is straight talking, but just imagine the team talks, post match comments and transfer negotiations. We wouldn’t get mugged off on all these transfers. Big Bill wouldn’t be able to mug him off like he is with Moyes.

He might not want the job, but we as Everton fans would salute him knowing he’d give 100% 24/7

Big Dunc would certainly kick a few backsides and not settle for mediocrity and surrender tactics. We desperately need a change now. This manager is draining my passion to follow this club just like he is to all of those that walked out on Saturday when the second goal went in. When was the last time we had an attendance at a Derby game? Enough is enough. 5 more years of Moyes would probably have as many fans deserting as a move to Kirkby

John Moores got rid of Johnny Carey becuase results and performances weren’t up to it. Back in the seventies, I recall that in support of their decision to sack Billy Bingham, the directors argued that it was the manager who took ultimate rsponsibility for team performances.

Now I would love DM to turn the ship around, but he better do it quick before our season has turned into a complete disaster. Otherwise any normal businessman would get rid of him. Question is does BK have the balls?

I remember thinking the same regarding Walter Smith. Did BK have the balls to get rid? Then he was gone. The only positive thing I can take out of recent events is for some reason that contract doesn’t seem to be as forthcoming from the board as it once did. Maybe they have reassessed - the right thing would be to say to Moyes - ’we’ll talk contract at the end of the season. In the meantime earn your wages’

We finished 5th last season FFS. Not that i’m excusing the performances this season but there must be something that will click back into place. Having said that whilst Fellaini may come good after a while i still can’t quite believe we signed one player for 15m. Moutinho as good as he is and certainly more of a finished article would still have raised my eyebrows as i didn’t think we had the cash to risk on a move like that. We could be facing the inevitable "undisclosed fee" for Fellaini in the not too distant future, i just hope not.

FFS - read what Patty has said - and the problem is systemic, not starting with Davie, but ending there!

We need money, and a board that supports the manager’s ideas. There is no evidence otherwise.

Big Dunc as manager makes as much sense as having Dawn French as your hand gliding partner. The training sessions would be great, right lads grab your pint, now lift your right arm and drink, repeat this till your can’t walk. Anyone thought Bill Kenwright could be holding the contract back until he sees tonight’s result. £65,000 a week is a massive outlay for our club and one we might not be able to afford. For me I’d stick with DM but ask him to re-evaluate his demands.
