Arrogant Moyes

Comments (9)

What a start to the season. Out of both cup competitions in the first round. Three home league games all lost, scoring 2 and conceding 8. We have conceded more goals in the league than any other team. One derby already lost. Still playing players out of position, Cahill on the wing, Neville in midfield etc.

Despite all this Moyes is on the official website today reassuring us that he will sign a new contract. I must be missing something. In all his time he has never got us anywhere near winning anything, despite being allowed to repeatedly break our transfer record. This season we have played with no creativity at all and are very easy to score against. But for me the most damming inditement of Moyes leadership is the total lack of desire, effort and belief shown by the team.all season.

Bill, please have the courage to end this right now as this is not the Everton I have supported for over 30 years.

I will keep this short and to the point. Moyes should sign his contract or go. The stability we had is slowly getting eroded by the managers inability to sign his new contract. New players are wondering why they signed for him and the more established are asking him why he isn't signing when he's questioning their desire for Everton. .... Mr Moyes.... sign or go.....

As the post mortem begins as to why we have suddenly turned into a negative, and poor football team, can someone out there answer a few questions?

We were patently under-prepared for the start of the Premier League season, so much so, we struggled to name a full sub's bench. Was this Moyes' fault, or Kenwright's? Did Moyes have money to spend from the close of last season? Did Moyes only want to sign star names,on ridiculous wages? He did go on to say he only wanted players who could push us on to the top four, and this strategy left us with academy players for the Blackburn game. It was Moyes who invited Liverpool to play with three strikers at the Derby, while we had a pissed off Yak on his own up front! Someone is taking the piss with Moyes's contract negotiations, but who?

We still don't know why Wyness left the club, and probably never will. The players are clearly not happy, and it has shown on the pitch. We have no leadership on or off the pitch. Some posters have implied it is none of our business what happens behind the scenes, I say we are entitled to know who or what is our lives a misery at the moment, sort it out, or fuck off!

I?ve always supported Moyes in the past as despite his flaws, on balance I believed he had stabilised our club.

However, I think he?s started to believe his own ?press? from his far too uncritical media buddies. I feel he?s lost a grip on reality & lost his once famous humility and empathy with the match going public.

I now find his arrogance over this new contract sickening, he pisses us about, demands even more money & get out clauses on a more than generous contract, considering our finances & his lack of a trophy.
Then when his failings & ditherings catch up with him and impact on the team, he thinks he might sign as he?s no better offer.

I guess how I feel now is how the fat ugly girl feels at the end of a night out.
Her fella doesn?t want to be with her but as he?s had a good look round and hasn?t had a better offer he?ll just keep fucking her instead.

I am with you Marc, I think he has now realised that nobody else wants him, with continuous investment in the team no matter how little, we are having another yo-yo year. We can all hope that next year is the up cycle, maybe even with a better boss than we have now. People say who will we replace him with, well £17.5-20 million over 5 years will attract quite a few surprises i would bet, and maybe just one of them will teach them how to pass to there team mates during a game of football.

Andrew - I posted on here recently that Slaven Bilic is only on £70,000 a year plus bonuses. Now I’m not saying he’s that answer but surely we could get someone similar or even a proven european club manager for a fraction of what we are offering a very ’stale’ Moyes.

I'm not keen to see an end to the Moyes era at Everton, mainly because I don't see anyone that would both be willing to come to the club that could do a better job. However, if the contract isn't signed by the end of October and the performances continue to be this poor, he has to go. What kind of message does it send to the players when the manager is wondering whether he can take the club any further?

Moyes is probably a decent enough fellow but his game is tired at EFC. The players look disinterested, there is no rhythm on attack, the defense is leaking goals more than ever, zero points at home, dumped out of two cups, bossed by the RS - and by the way has anyone ever drunk a drop of Chang beer? WTF!
