Moyes Uncertainty

Don't know if it's just me but does anyone else think the reason Moyesey hasn't signed a new contract, is because he is being lined up to take over a number of other Premier league clubs i.e Spurs, Newcastle, Man Utd? With numerous clubs in the Premier League set to be takenover in the coming months by the collection of the billionaires in the Middle East, I believe he may have had secret talks ? with whom I don't know....

Wow, that's fantastic. The Moyesiah... lined up to take over not just one other club, but "a number of other Premier League clubs"???? So he's going to manage Spurs AND Newcastle AND Man Utd? This could be very interesting. I know he's really really good, highly rated by all and sundry pundits throughout the media, but are you sure he could get away with it?
Still, look at the wedge he would be able to earn! We know he's after a lotta mullah but three salaries for doing essentially the same job. You gotta love that!
Moyes has already signed the contract. I can tell you that certain people at Goodison are made up that, in the end, he settled for £3.5M a year rather than the £4M he was holding out for. The downside is that Kenwright has had to backdate the increase to last February ? so they?ve called it a draw!
Michael, I’m sorry but you just sounded like an idiot. You know what he meant.
I don’t think Moyes is worth what we’re about to pay him, considering he hasn’t won any silverware, and we just got knocked out of two competitions in the span of a week. Sure, we’ve improved a lot, and I think he COULD take us to the next level, but not until there’s some stability at the club, and that comes down to Kenwright.
For a moment let?s assume Moyes hasn?t signed the deal, the question we all want answered is why, so let?s also assume that you are someone interested in possibly buying Everton Football Club.
If you had a plan that included say, £100 million for transfers but wanted to appoint a ?world class? manager, would you then want to pay an additional, very large fee to terminate the current manager?s contract?
Is it perhaps possible that these rumours of a takeover may actually be right? Surely then, it would be in the interests of the board to keep things as simple as possible so that potential buyers are not faced with the additional expense of buying out Moyes?s deal?
Just a thought.......................
Hahahhahhaahha....
You’re clearly kidding right?
It wouldnt suprise me to see DM go and be second fiddle to Alex Ferguson at Man U for a season or two before taking over the reigns.
Lewis above, agreed mate. I have said many times on this site that I think DM will slot into the vacant No 2 position at Man Utd and will be groomed to take over from SAF when he retires.
Tom and Lewis, do you think after having complete autonomy in team affairs for 6 years at EFC, David Moyes is really going to sit and be a number two to SAF.

I don?t know where this speculation comes from but as I?ve often said, why would a club of the stature of Manchester United employ a manager who has only won a promotion from Division 2 to Division 1 with Preston?! There?s more chance of us being managed by Brett Angell and Stuart Barlow than David Moyes taking charge at Manchester United...
What about Mike Newell... he’s just taken over at Grimsby, but he did excellent with Luton before the board sold all his players... not that I want Moyes to go. As far as ex-players go, he’s top candidate no?
I thought SAF appointed a new number 2 a couple of months ago.....?
Rumour has it that, DM is/was holding out for a bigger & better contract in case potential buyers try to get get shut of him - he’ll be well reinbursed.
The letter above states MAN UNITED on the actual letter i put Newcastle "Y I Man,, United Not what mr kenrick has put ...i also ment Either club not all at the same time .DOH what were you thinking kenrick blah blah blah
David Moyes at Man Utd?Have you lost your mind? FFS a team like Man Utd wouldnt touch Moyes with a bargpole. They only have winners at that club and mangers who know how to play decent football.Imagine 78.000 cockneys and Irishmen putting up with hoofball at Old Trafford every week.OH and they would have to sell Rooney. Some of our lot are so thick it hurts.
Nick - I think Mike Newell needs to prove himself to a lot of people after his managerial absence before he even makes it onto any future pick list. His past outbursts were often inappropriate or badly timed, and his alleged reputation (from his Hartlepool days at least) of (how can I put this carefully) liking the odd social drink(!) might not go well with the stress of managing our great club (let’s face, one of our better past managers succumbed to something similar). I wish him all the best at the Mariners, though, and look forward to a successful managerial rehabilation. As a player he gave us some memorable moments!
What about Pat Nevin? he's always talking about us on Channel 5. He could be a good candidate, or Kevin Ratcliffe ? he can't say any of our players' names properly but he might be good... But Mike Newell can't manage himself let alone a football club. I don't know why some people are living in cloud cookoo land ie, Dave Edwards ? GIVE ME A BREAK and a KIT-KAT ....
Richard Harris above.
You make a fair point mate and I agree that DM’s track record is not good compared to SAF, but...........look at the rescources they have had at Manure and what DM has done with VERY limited spending power here. I maybe should have padded out my argument with the rider that he will be able to utilise his skills coupled to massive spending power, after having been shown the ropes of a huge club by Ferguson.
Look people, let’s just get this straight. David Moyes is a decent middle-ranking manager. He is NOT, I repeat NOT, going to be given a job at a club with a higher profile than Everton. Let’s face it, Moyes doesn’t have the mental capacity to manage at the top. Indeed, I would be surprised if any club with ambition would go down the Moyes route. All the crap and bewildering decisions we have to put up with at Everton and people still seem to think that everyone is about to come knocking on Moyes’ door with an offer he can’t refuse. It just winds me up. He’s no better than Allardyce and you don’t see people desperately trying to lure him to their clubs. Then again, maybe Moyes is about to take over as SAF’s number two in order that he be groomed for the biggest job in football. FFS!
I’m with Tony again on this one, Old Trafford "theatre of dreams"
I wouldn’t like to go down to the theatre with Moyes holding the scalpel.
Utd fans would not put up with Moyes shite, the place would be empty.
Lets just hope he hasn’t signed his new contract and pisses off as soon as possible.
There?s more chance of Tony being appointed manager of Manure.
Anyway, as stated recently, it?s not Moyes holding up the contract it?s Kenwright.
Moyes stated last week that "it?s been with board for a while now".
IMO and it?s only an opinion. Kenwright is in shit street with the bank and is holding on for as long as he can.
I think Moyes knows this and it is one of the reasons for his "pissed off", "I?m not going to motivate the team" moods.
I have reached the conlusion, which may surprise some of you out there that Tony Marsh only dislikes 2 things about David Moyes. They are: everything he says and secondly everything he does.
Unfortunately whilst he has a seemingly endless supply of rants and raves against Moyes, he appears to be incapable of suggesting a suitable alternative. As far as Tony goes as the great Led Zeppelin would put it ? "The song remains the same".
Jim Bowen - Read the posts properly and get your target right FFS. Nick was advocating Mike as a managerial option - I was trying to put that option down more subtley than your sledgehammer approach.
