Who hurts most?

Comments (6)

Another defeat and another match from which positives can apparently be drawn. Does anyone wonder how the players feel tonight? Gutted I hope, but so gutted that they can't face the thought of heading out to spend some of their huge salaries? Now I don't expect players to be suicidal after a defeat but I would sincerely hope that their weekend is as fucked as mine is.

Tomorrow I'm going to lunch with the in-laws. My father-in-law is a fanatical Liverpool supporter, so... what fun awaits. Of course in the great scheme of things it doesn't matter at all. But... if I earned what our manager and players earn I'd think of the supporters who earn (like myself) shit, and I'd feel embarrassed.

Who hurts most? Quite frankly, I think the people who care enough to post on this site do.

Spot on Andy. I?m a source of fun and amusement for my in laws too and it is getting difficult to put a brave face on. I?m beginning to dread any family get together as those loveable reds certainly know how to kick you when you're down. I?ve had so many shit weekends lately I?m beginning to hate Fridays FFS.

Despite their hurt it wn?t stop them spouting stupidities about how Man Ure had better watch out etc.

Suggestions please on which nincompoop will be first to burst into print and what inanities will they spout.

The only positive I saw from yesterday's game was the final whistle.

Why is is that every time the team performs badly, some wag decides to throw in a mention of the size of the players? pay packets? As though 20 grand a week should magically up performance levels, improve skill, technique and ability? It?s all relative. Dissapointment is one thing, but envy shouldn?t come into it.

First half, we did well, but the players arses went at 1-1. There?s no confidence there, and never is when we play the back-page 4, and that I think stems from the leadership at the top (Moyes).

Andy,
I think you?ve nailed something with this contribution. There?s a lot of heat generated here with what appears to be a growing divide between the pro- and ant- Moyes crowds ? yet the bottom line is we probably all care.

What these players, this fucking manager (sic) and Kenwright et al need to understand is what it?s like to be us. The problem is they are not that interested, me thinks.

I?m old enough to remember players walking into the ground and around the pitch to go to the dressing room. They would wave and sometimes stop and chat. Some lived in local digs. We all felt part of the same world. This lot are a bunch of overpaid, questionably talented, self-centred bastards who show no care for the ?legend? of the club as we know it. Maybe some of them, including Moyes, should fuck off and just leave those who want to play for the club, not the fucking money. Won?t happen of course.
