Pathetic journalism from TeamTalk and really bad criticism of Tony Hibbert:

What have the press got against him?

Ben I can’t believe that article has riled you. He can’t score, he can’t cross and he can’t control the ball. Its all very true.

And how many games did the prick who wrote that play for Everton. Oh that’s right none, because he couldn’t trap a medicine ball, couldn’t cross himself if he was the Pope, and still wouldn’t score in a free brothel. Jealousy with a capital J

I think it’s pretty much a fair reflection, especially "couldn’t cross a bridge" bit.

Good try with the reverse psychology Ben.

Publish an article (or at least link to an article) where someone other then the TW readers are slating Tony Hibbert in the hope that the TW readers take offence to said article and stick up for Tony Hibbert.

When did Hibbert last play well for Everton?

When did Hibbert last play well for Everton?

I would say last month. The away fixture against Bate Borisov.

Hibbert played in the centre of defense and was my man of the match.

I think Hibbert was of Premier League quality BUT the as the league has improved, his limitations have been exposed. A bit cruel to put him in this list as he seems a nice lad, gives 100% effort & is very useful for cover as part of a squad.
One name on the list I wouldn’t argue with though is Alan Smith. Why oh Why Moyes has shown persistent interest in this over-rated player?

Comparatively as well, possibly Hibbert would be the lowest paid on that list... damn, dragged back into it again.

i’m happier to see Hibbert’s name on the team sheet than Jo; at least he does what he’s paid to do >80% of the time.

Hibbert may not be the best player but at least he gives his best week-in, week-out. I find it unfair to suggest he steals a living.

If you want to talk about players stealing a living then look no further then James Vaughan.

Vaughan has spent the last 4 years claiming earning a wage and giving next to nothing back.

Vaughan must be a millionaire by now and whats he done to deserve it? Played a dozen or games and scored a couple of goals.

That's stealing a living.

It might be cheap and shoddy journospeak, but Marc Williams, "a bit unfair because he seems a nice lad....WTF...if that’s the criteria for an Everton contract I’ll get me CV down to GP tomorrow.

Hibbert: Cannot Cross, Cannot Shoot, Cannot get more than 6 inches off the ground (how many times has he been targeted at the back post by the oppo?), has little sense of danger, cannot read or anticipate very well, he’s not savvy in his behaviour after a tackle (compared to the likes of say Jamie Carragher or John Terry).

On the plus side he can tackle very well. On balance he’s not stealing our money.. if Everton want to give him a contract, fair play to the lad. My view is he would be a decent Championship player, maybe with Newcastle.

Cannot understand the James Vaughan criticism... he cannot help being injured and potentially he could be a very good player... and if we terminate the contract we potentially kiss a transfer fee away... if you go off sick from work, do you think that you are stealing from your employer..? No, thought not...

If I’m off work 90% of the time over 4 years then yes and I’m stealing a living.

To be honest who could blame an employer for getting rid of an employee who doesn’t do his job for 4 years.

Everton cannot afford to carry passengers. If Vaughan is unable to contribute to the club then he has to go.

Nah, I’ve criticised him quite a lot in the past few months, but to put him in the worst EPL team is ridiculous! I mean, even Anton Ferdiannd’s there? It just shows it is shite.

I mean Tony Hibbert has his flaws, and I still think Neill is still a better right back, but to put him in that team is just annoying!

I’ve just read that again, and I’m not implying Ferdinand is that good, but I can think of loads more players to put in there over him.

Yep couldn’t agree more with Tony Hibberts inclusion in that team. Have to agree with Pete Sullivan on his assesment of Tony Hibbert. We have 3 better when fit in that position Lucas Neill, Phil Neville and Hetinga. If we have a full list of these players in the summer then perhaps we should offload Hibbert to a team in a division where he would be better suited like League 1 or 2.
