Shame, eternal shame, nothing but shame

Shame, eternal shame, nothing but shame. That really hurts... whatever happened in the 2nd half doesn't really matter

We all new this was a big game but the players CLEARLY where not motivated first half and had no ideas tactically.

This happens a lot and that is Moyes fault. 11 blokes run on the pitch and just hope for the best, or in this case had no fuckin' clue.

Pro, Anti or whatever else you can be its Moyes who motivates and instructs HIS team, no-one else.

And for tonight's result, he should be utterly ashamed.

What the fuck happend? Well I'll tell you. One simple reason why we where so poor in the first half tonight. The decision to play Rodwell on the right side of midfeild, of course. What was Moyes thinking about? It left us with Heitinga and Cahill in the centre providing no outlet through midfield to get the ball down and play the football we're capable of.

Cahill will always push up forward and support the front man, or men in this instance, and Heitinga is clearly not a centre midfield player and doesn't know what he's doing there. Hence our back line having to lump the ball forward for Yak and Louis to chase after!

Hull in turn end up taking the game to us. My evidence for this is when Moyes replaced Rodwell at half time with Gosling who should have started the game. The masterstroke came in bringing Jo on to the wing and moving Pienaar in the centre. I would like to see Pienaar play a more central role more often but alas we just dont have that option. God Help Us...

I live in Los Angeles. I work when games are on weekdays. I watch them at work and have to clear my schedule to watch most of the game. I sat down at my computer 20 minutes after the game started to see we were down to Hull 2-0. I promptly got up and went to eat lunch with coworkers. But I couldn't resist and came back for the second half.

Now 3-0 down I saw the fighting spirit again... but nothing of skill or ability... and not just a lack of creativity but a lack of common sense. We fought hard but got a lucky two goals. And while I prayed for a late equalizer... bottom line is we didn't deserve it.

This team is shit right now. David Moyes is shit right now. Anything can change but the fact is I was looking at our schedule and I pretty much saw if we didn't win here and somehow win in the derby we are in real trouble. And trouble is here. I'll be up at 5:30 in the AM cheering Sunday but I seriously wonder how much longer this charade of Bill and Moyes can last. Rodwell in a wide position.... seriously.

There was never a more red flag to take note of than the 6 goals conceded in the first game against Arsenal. We tended to blame Lescott but that has proved to be a poor excuse for what happened that day. Benfica 5, Manure 3 and poor teams like Bolton 3 and Hull 3 sum up how poor a defensive ''team'' we have become and that's not to blame the back 4 only no matter who has played there.

The tackling and closing down all over the park is so slipshod it has been rather easy for teams to attack Everton. DM must take the blame. He signed the players, he picks the team and he creates the system they play. He just doesn't cut it anymore. We will be in the bottom 3 very soon. We may not be in the same position as Pompey but we are not far off and they have acted already.

Does anyone think that maybe a Peter Reid is needed at the helm with Joe Royle or Brian Kidd as assistant? Surely someone can bring the school of science back to Goodison?

Yes I have to agree with some of the comments re David Moyes. He seems to act like he has been reading his own publicity. The lack of transfer activity in the summer was a disgrace. It was a matter of the greatest urgency that we added to the squad BEFORE the season started. We had 4 players with long term injuries and Jacobsen, Valente and Castillo had been released. That meant we needed to add 7 just to keep up the squad numbers. Nothing but rumours and speculation - just as in the summer of 2008. The lessons had clearly not been learned.
In my opinion the lack of transfer activity in the summer of 2008 until the very end of the transfer window cost us a decent crack at 4th place. I fear that the repeat we got this summer may have cost us more.
Heitinga and Lucas are 2 experienced players - good signings I think - but why were they signed TOO LATE to play in the Europa League group games!!!!
It’s time for Moyes to take responsibilty. It’s time for him to show some LEADERSHIP. He gets paid a handsome salary - which took quite a long time to negotiate - let’s see DM show us that he is worth that big salary.Back in the dark days of 1983 Howard Kendall didn’t hide behind criticising others. He showed leadership - It’s time for Moyes to show us what he’s made of, time for him to up his game.

I couldn’t agree more with your title. Shame.
Definitely shame.
I think add damnation to the list as well and it completes our lot. Condemed to rot as a has been club unfortunately.
Our only salvation??? Well actually I can’t think of one. Ground sharing? Rich arab? Massive push for Asian fan base? Unfortunately all 3 leave a bitter taste in my mouth, selling the soul of the club. So as far as I see it now, we’re fucked if we do, fucked if we don’t, and get to watch shite in between. Excellent.

It was a bit of a miss mash of a team. Reminded me a bit of the walter smith era though we have quite got to the point of playing someone like Tony Hibbert upfront!

Lets not make any bones about it we have has a disaster with injuries, but we still had enough available to of had a balanced team, capable of beating Hull.

Moyes as ever has insisted on staying loyal to players by keeping them in the team even if it is out of position.

For me sunday is a massive one (more so than ever). with Bily and Pienaar we have balance on the wings, and two creative players.

What I am worried about is who Liverpool play. I wouldnt be suprised if Mr Torres turned up.

That had to be the worst performance of an Everton team for as long as I can remember, this is down to the opposition we were facing. Moyes got everything wrong in that first half, tactics, position of players, long ball, it was embarrassing. Their are far too many players within the team who are coasting through games because their is no competition for places, and their are players who are just not good for Everton Football Club, and players playing in positions they can’t.

Dreading Sunday.

Carl are you sure that is the worst Everton performance for as long as you can remember? I can recall loads of terrible performances; Burnley, Fulham, Stoke, Wolves, Arsenal (6-1), Benfica (what did that end up 6-0?). It’s not good enough, Moyes has too many players in the team now that don’t even fight like players in other teams and don’t throw their bodys on the line for the cause.

How much space and time were the Hull players given to score last night? Thats were we miss Jagielka and Neville who fight for the cause. It’s obvious to me that Heitinga is not a centre mid, he’s a centre back so this begs the question why did Moyes buy him? We don’t need a centre back, we need midfielders!

I increasingly wonder why Moyes signed Heitinga when he could have signed Lucas Neill on a free at the start of the summer. He then could have used that money and wages to buy a player who would add some natural width or a forward thinking and energetic box to box player, something we actually needed rather than another ultility jack of all trades-esque player (what position was he signed to play in and what is his preferred postion?!). Not wanting to bash the lad as our predicament is not his fault but other than on Pro Evo i don’t think Heitinga was ever that good and the lack of leadership last night from an experienced player of an apperant high calibre was terrible. We genuinely miss Pip on that front, derbies are when you need commitment and leaders and at the minute we are really missing some both on and off the pitch.

I wonder if Moyes has lost the dressing room? after watching the display last night, It makes you think that there is something wrong, in players attitudes.
We do have injury problems, and with having a very small squad, players are expected to fill in, but in Cahills case, he is really only effective in a role just behind the strikers.
In recent games he has been on the right of midfield, and then on the left, and he looks
really out of place.
Regardless of what some fans think, we do miss Neville, as we seem to change the captain as often as we change the strip.
There is NO leader on the pitch, and in my opinion, the team spirit is very low.

On Sunday we will have Fellaini and Billy Dean available, and hopefully Pienaar is fit, as we need to get back on track, asap.

Our next three league fixtures could not be
any more difficult, free scoring Spurs and then, the little trip to Chelsea, coming up after
the derby.
