Everton are in meltdown, open your eyes people!

Everton FC are in a MAJOR meltdown.

Let me be clear, I am a fully fledged blue-blooded follower of the Everton reglion but I don't live in the city and never have. In fact there is no rhyme or reason why I support Everton, I just do. True love I suppose! For this reason I will confess upfront that I don't know enough about the ins and outs of the failed DK to have a strong/valid opinion as to whether this was right or wrong for the club and DK itself is not the point of this article.

The point is this: It really hurts me that the heads at Everton had such major losses today (although I understand that many may not see it as a loss). DM has again been show. up ON the field and BK has had the basket he kept all his eggs in trampled on OFF it.

What really terrifies and hurts me is not whether or not DK was a bad idea, or whether Rodwel should have been played in RM today. What really worries me is that the two head honchos at everton keep suffering such major defeats and consequently this failure filters down to the team on the field and our results. I have always been pro-Moyes and anti middle-eastern investors who are in it for the money, but what we have at this club at the moment does not work!

And yes, I'm sure people will harp on about injuries and reaching a cup final last year, but that's no excuse for all the failings we are seeing through the cracks. I said at the start of the year that we needed 7 or 8 good signings to get through the year and build on the success of last year, and I got shouted down so hard that one of the Toffeeweb staff banned someone for life for their offensive reply to me being 'negative' but look at us now: Our lack of funds from the top, our lack of ambition from DM and most importantly our lack of direction can only lead us (and I use the term 'lead' in the loosest possible way!) downwards. Thank you both for dragging us up from the repeted brink of relegation we used to have to suffer (I mean that from the bottom of my heart!), but BK: if you love this club so much, surely you can see that its time to go! Sell up and move on and take DM with you, as I for one would LOVE to see my beloved club achieve SOMETHING besides the 95 victory in my lifetime! With a Leader in charge of our business/future and a Leader in charge of our team/squad we have real chance of achiving the highs I can only read about! COYB

I’ve only been posting here for a few days and already I seem to have interested the pro-Moyes, religious statistics and progress brigade.

I can’t remember the last time I heard Ferguson and Manchester United talking about progress, still, if this is it then something is sadly amiss.

With the Kirkby decision and Moyes’s continual bad management of the team I think it’s time for a clearout. Hands up those who think that nothing, absolutely nothing will happen......because it won’t. If this Club won’t address the issues that face it then I can and probably many more are making their choice too, quietly drifting away.................

In the summer of 2008 there was no major transfer activity/squad strengthening until virtually the end of the transfer window. Because of that we had a poor start to last season. The fact that things turned round, the new players started to gell with the rest of the team and the great Cup run seems to have led those in the Goodison " corridors of power" to believe that they could get away with doing the same in summer 2009.
Whilst other clubs were busy adding to their squads all we got were rumours and speculation. With 4 key players on the long term injury list, it was surely a matter of great urgency that we brought in new players BEFORE the season started. If you add Jacobsen, Valente and Castillo we were in effect 7 players down in terms of squad numbers. Yet we waited and waited - nothing. Lucas and Heitinga- 2 good signings in my opinion - were signed TOO LATE to take part in the Europa League group matches !!!!!!! Lack of planning on somebody’s part wouldn’t you think ?
I fear that David Moyes has started to believe his own publicity. Utimately HE decides the tactics/formation/recruitment of players. It is time for David Moyes to "step up to the plate" . It’s time for David Moyes to show that he is worth that big salary that he earns. As somebody once said - " the best form of leadership is that of example". It’s time to show LEADERSHIP Mr Moyes.

Lets not forget this all really started the season afte we finished 4th.
The club sat back basking in the glory of getting into the CL without bringing in any reinforcements to the squad and we all know what happend the following season.
There is absolutely no ambition or ability (you choose) for this Board to take the Club forward, full stop.
Something has to change or make no mistake about it, the old relagation battles that BK said would ’never return’ will be back.

I am and ’chockingly’ remain a David Moyes fan. He dragged this club out of the depths, with limited resources and until this season has generally overseen year on year progress. This year.............. I accept injuries. I accept players not being fully fit. However, there is just no excuse to be 3-0 down at half time against such a poor oppposition as Hull City. The team Moyes put out on paper last night should have beaten Hull. It’s Moyes team. It’s his tactics. It’s his motivation. It’s his absolute fucking disaster. I am very very worried about what is now going to happen. We are staring into an abyss, and may be too deep to climb out by the time our players return to fitness / Moyes actually works out how to make the players play. Somebody for christ sake save us! Moyes walking would make things worse not better. Unfortunately, it’s the only thing I can see happening now the DK disaster has happened. Hope KEIOC enjoy watching the blues playing Colchester at their beloved Goodison Park.

Couldn’t agree more with the article and all the responses. I’ve reiterated all the same points before and now i’m sick and tired of repeating these numerous points to the Moyes and Kenwright worshippers.
It’s a total shambles from the top to bottom no question.
Moyes perhaps should consider as a goodwill gesture to refund tickets and travel costs to those that witnessed that first half debacle and also the capitulation at Benfica. Wigan had the decency to offer this to their fans who made the journey to london on sunday so maybe EFC should do the same to our committed and dedicated fans.

On a seperate to Viv Sharma - I see your not far from me based in Northampton. If ever you wanna drown your sorrows over a few pints do let me know. My email add is jigger_1999@yahoo.com

’I will confess upfront that I don’t know enough about the ins and outs of the failed DK ’

-------------------

Although you admit to not knowing about the failed move (which is shameful in itself)...you go on to categorically state that it’s a loss!

Shocking lack of logic in your article on the basis of DK..

It is not a loss...it is a godsend...we should be getting ticker tape and marching up and down everton valley in celebration...

Until you inform yourself about the content of your article..why bother even writing one?

Injuries, injuries, injuries. Apparently it’s okay to get relegated because we’ve got injuries. Moyes doesn’t have to do his job anymore because we’ve got injuries. The remaining players don’t have to put any effort in because of injuries. There is absolutely no accountability for the fucking mess that is Everton FC at the moment because we’ve got injuries.

I can just sit back and relax now.

I am so pleased that you have come to this realisation. The stress otherwise would be unbearable and you have to look after yourself.

We can all just wait, until that golden day, when the clouds shall wither away, and the full and total qoutient of Everton FC players will be fit and well and keen for selection prior to our next home game against Doncaster Rovers.........

Arteta, Neville, Bilaletdinov, Fellaini, Jags, Osman and to a lesser extent Anichebe, Vaughan all unavailable for selection last night.

What other team other than perhaps only Chelsea and Man U could cope without that many key players? Liverpool lose Gerrard and Torres - they are fucked.

Moyes simply has not had the money to build two first 11s - he has had to make do with paying on the never, never and taking chances on lesser players - why? To pad out the squad and hope that we stay in the Division - which we will do.

Stop panicking - lower your expectation for this season as it has been one of the worst for long-term injuries in the club’s history and stop trying to drive us into further turmoil.

I am a season ticke holder and always put my money where my mouth is and I am looking forward to us having a fully fit squad available in the New Year. This season , for me, is a bit of a write off for reasons stated above.
