“We can end Anfield wait”

Comments (11)

So once again the annual cry goes up. Who is it this time? As if we didn't know, if would be Captain Phil and his big mouth. How many more times do we have to listen to this cringeful crap.

Since watching Everton in 1973, we have won a mere 5 times on enemy soil. We must have played there over 40 times including cup games during that period.

You see, Phil, we don't do winning at Anfield very often. For a change, why don't the players keep their mouths shut and for once in their lives go there and perform and win in style. Instead of the usual let down and let's be honest we excel at that, give us all something to be proud of.

I'm sick of hard luck stories, I'm sick of false dawns, I'm sick of being let down in the most important game of the season.... Go on shock us and give us something to revel in for once in our suffering lives.

I found the push back on Neville’s comments by fans on the Everton official website pretty amusing and inspiring. Basically... stop giving those lame fucks so much credit. Actually, as you say, stop talking about the fixture or the history of the fixture at all and just go out and workmanlike dismantle this shit team.

Steven, I commented on Dick Fearon's slot earlier in the week, regarding the derby match. I understand fans comming on selecting the team that they would put out on Saturday. And as I said at the time, I am happy to leave it to the guy who matters.

Also, NO stupid interviews by players, making predictions. I just want the lads to go out and play to their best, and show the fans what they are capable of, and give Davie Moyes his first win at Anfield, and improve his CV. We have had fairly decent results away, but not the important one and that's a Victory.

So come on you Blues — make my weekend.

Yet to win away at any of the Sky four under Moyes... is it tempting fate to suggest that run has to end soon?

I would love to see the side just go for the throat, like they did at Goodison when they were very unlucky.

Note to Captain Pip .....

Shut the fuck up, as it always backfires on us. Just do a good job on em’, then you can waffle on all you like.

Oh... and if you get the ball within 30 yards, just fuckin... SHOOOOOT!

So Ossie has opened his big mouth about the derby result.

Well Ossie, if you have a good game, we may have a chance at winning. All too often, you disappear in big games.

Yes, we can win this game like any other but all too often something goes against the Blues and it’s over for another season. If we play as well as we have been doing in recent weeks, bar the Brum game, then we can nick it.

Hopefully they start like a house on fire and take them early but if they play a containing game then we will be in trouble. Yes, we need to be tighter at the back than we were against Wigan and if not they will punish us.

I am hoping for a big game from Ossie as he is the experienced derby player who can lead the rest if he knuckles down but his tackling is still a problem.

To be fair, they’ve only answered questions from an interviewer.

I doubt very much that either PN or LO want to spend their afternoons speaking to some chancer from the Echo/Everton TV/sky sports asking the same old meaningless questions.

I’ve done my fair share of complaining about this in the past but thinking a little more, the players have to go into games feeling that they’ll win or ultimately they won’t. From that perspective, Phil is right. That said, I don’t think there’s a need to shout about it in the press.

He would’ve been much better to come out and say we have no chance of winning at Anfield because we always lose there.

Nice one Steven.

Yer I agree, I posted something about this a few months ago, I’m sick to death of players coming out in the paper on the Friday before a match and telling us "what their going to do" or "how were going to do it" and the main culprit, ironically is the player who consistently least performs on the pitch - Phil Neville. When is he going to learn to shut his frigging mouth and just go on the pitch and have a good game?

Answer . Never. Its much easier for him to "jee" the supporters up in the paper than it is to perform on the pitch.

I can’t stand all that paper talk, it winds me up, why can’t they just keep quiet and play well in a big match for once.

Spot on Steve, and oh boy, with the cold hindsight of that dreadful performance behind us, how I wish Neville, Osman and the rest would just shut up.

’Your captains a Manc’ chant the gobshites - that doesnt bother me, the fact he isnt a very good footballer does.
