Penalty miss a blessing?

Does anybody else think that the penalty miss by Saha last night was a blessing in disguise? I said to my old man on the game that if we had've scored that penalty, the team talk at half time for Chelsea would have been very straight forward: ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK.
As it was they probably thought our heads would be down and they would pick us off. As we all know, that's not how it happened, but I personally believe that if we had of scored the penalty then it would have been much more like the FA Cup final, where we definitely scored too early. We would have probably (as seems to be our way) tried to defend for the whole 2nd half.

Without a doubt it we went in 2-1 at half time we would have been beaten. We would have sat back further and further until the inevitable occurred and then conceeded a third and a fourth when chasing the game.
I mentioned during the ToffeeWeb live form that, after missing the penalty, Saha would have a good think to himself at half time and come out and score 3. He didn’t get 3 but the sentiment is the same. Would be impossible for that not to have an impact to a professional sports person, I think.
What a shame all of Saha’s other misses during a match don’t fire him up!
I couldn’t help but think the same thing after we scored in the last 10. I thought no way we’d have kept them out playing like this for 45.
You negative people. If we had scored that penalty then Chelsea heads would have been down and we would have thumped them second half. Saha would have got his hat-trick, then a couple for Tim and maybe Mikel's first goal and perhaps a couple for Donovan — how many's that!
I don't think we can be blamed for being negative or cynical, especially as we have not beaten Chelsea since 2000. The performance and result was a hugh welcome surprise. I thought we would concede an equaliser but delighted we hung on.
It might have all turned out nice again in the end, but that is two missed penalties for Saha now and Baines should take them in future he is 100% on them.
Exactly my half time cigerette sentiments. We score that pen and it would've all ended in tears...
Only reason I was glad he didn’t score the penalty was I would rather that happenned when we went on to a win but before he took it I thought to myself "He’s going to put this down the middle again." If I thought that you can bet your ass Cech thought it and so it proved to be. Maybe he will vary them a bit from now on. Can’t complain given a fantastic result.
I agree... said exactly same thing after the final whistle. Was only a blessing in so much as we did win in spite of it. If we had drawn, it would of course have been a negative. There is no way we would have held on defending all second half. We have seen it too many times in the past. We score and sit back trying to hold.
