Joao Silva Action

Here you'll see him go down in the box like a big girl's blouse, score a goal, do a trick before being tackled, and a failed assist. Note this massive passionate crowd. Full of Ultras.
Now in this match he scores the second goal. And I may be mistaken, but is this the ground of the famous 'keeper blunder where he goes to throw the ball out to a team mate but swings it round into his own net?

I'm not getting too excited to be honest. He could be another promising youngster who joins Everton but fails to step up. Kinda like Scott Spencer, Guillaume Plessis, Patrick Boyle, Bjarni Vidarsson, Lukas Jutkiewicz and John Ruddy. mOYEs invested in all of those but they failed to make the grade.
At least Dan Gosling made it and the current crop including Seamus Coleman, Shkodran Mustafi, Femi Orenuga, Luke Garbutt and Joao Silva have a chance... Don't they?
Rather then a youngster purchased like Gosling, Coleman, Mustafi, Orenuga, Garbutt and Silva.
I thought Duffy was homegrown like Rooney, Osman, Hibbert and Rodwell.
I have seen him numerous times: in pre-season, for the reserves, and of course for the first team, and I see no indication of a talent to back up this notion. A decent player, certainly... not one that has 'first team' stamped all over him by a long shot though.
It seems to me to be developing into one of these 'internet sheep' stories where everyone just follows along, afraid to point out that the emperor is in fact naked, for fear of ridicule!
Regards Senderos, though, I think the lad is being harshly treated. The only real shocker he had was out in Lisbon and I think, in his defence: (a) he wasn't fit; and (b) it is a challenge for anyone playing alongside that clown Yobo.
I was at Wigan when he made his debut and he was superb to be honest. Solid as a rock defensively and he had that Arsenal composure on the ball, dropping his shoulder in injury time and taking the sting out of things instead of hoofing like we normally do!!
For a free, I would be happy to take the lad to be honest. He's a good pro, he can do some translating as he speaks 5 languages, and he can do a job if called upon.
We shouldn't waste what little money we may have on another defender no matter how much Moyes loves them.
As far as I'm concerned, the only decent players play for the only decent teams Porto, Benefica, Sporting Lisbon and Braga. The rest of the teams are poor. Does this mean there is no hope for James Vaughan?
