Can't wait to read this chapter...

 28 Comments: First  |  Last

If there's one thing that's got me excited over the last few weeks and months (and believe me like most Everton fans it's not the product on the pitch or the Muppets sitting in the EFC boardroom) it's the anticipation to read Moyes's autobiography when it comes out...

I really can't wait to find out what he was feeling and thinking over the last year.

Is he really this loyal to Kenwright?

Has he lost hope because of the lack of funds?

Was he trying to send a message to the board by continually playing players out of position?

Did he lose his passion and drive because he's been told he'll never be SAF's successor at Man U?

Is he biding his time because BK has told him there's an investor with an oil field in East Dagestan who is ready to extend the club a lifeline (or pipeline we?ll take both)?

Some questions we might get the answers to, others might remain a mystery forever; till then I will have these questions which I hope can be answered sooner rather than later:

  1. When will Tim Cahill quit International Football?
  2. When will Phil Neville quit football period?
  3. When will we stop bringing all our players back for corners?
  4. When will Louis Saha sign a ?pay as you score? contract? (I guarantee he would have more goals than Yakubu if he was on that type of contract.)
  5. When will Rodwell catch an injury break?!?
  6. When will Barkley get his chance? And finally
  7. When will we get to 40 points? (Because even Tamworth made us look pedestrian?) Apologies for the overload of questions but sometimes they can be more revealing than the answers?

NSNO

ps: I would like to apologize to all the Muppets of the world for comparing them with the EFC board. No one deserves that association?

Mohammed, your frustrations are felt by thousands of Evertonians and we all hope that one fine day the nightmare that is Moyes finally ends. He has no new ideas and really has shown such negativity as to reduce this once great footballing club to a mishmash of boring and unimpressive football strategies making us a match for teams like Tamworth on our own pitch.

The loyalty to players no longer up to standard borders on the insane and the reluctance to give newcomers and young players a decent run out is inexcusable. We are now a mediocre mid-table team but only just thanks to Moyes. Lack of funds is his excuse but really it is a lack of integrity and motivational skills that appear to affect this squad.

There is a lot of talent at this club but he doesn't seem to have what it takes to mould a decent eleven together or a decent positive strategy, more like he pulls the names from a hat before each game and wings it. It just isn't good enough and he is being well paid for achieving nothing.

Would he say anything about his current boss whilst still on the gravy train - highly unlikely. Could it contain dour tales of defence at all costs - highly likely.

I have seen a draft copy. It is tedious, going on and on and on. It was like 'War and Peace' and is still incomplete because, like the team he manages, he cannot finish.

Mohammed... There's no chance of a book at present, as despite a 24/7 search by his literary agent, no publisher could be found. It's the recession you see, no-one's interested in buying books at the moment.

And even if they were you have to be careful, one publisher turned out to be a student in Manchester with just a photocopier.

Anyways it's probably for the best. Any book by Moyes would be a confused mess with the Introduction at the end and the final chapter in the middle. In fact everything will be in the strangest places giving the book no shape or structure.

Indeed it's very construct would make readers constantly track back to previous chapters, in a vain and hopeless attempt to work out what's taking place before their eyes.

All-in-all, I'm sure this book would have no chance of reaching the 4th place in the bestsellers list he'll no doubt hope for.

Amazing isn't it? Warnock gets sacked after only 2 years at QPR after getting them promotion and beating Everton.
So how does Moyes get to last 10 years having achieved nothing but mediocrity?

Tom Bowers ? 10 years mediocrity... really? The whole 10 years?

By the way, Warnock spent more on players in 18 months than we have in nearly 3 years.

Tom # 6, Don't be so bloody cynical. Moyes took ten years to develop par excellence in mediocrity. No other manager has achieved that level of brain numbing ennui.
Nor might I add have they been allowed as much time as Davy.

Fulham at home next and for those of us old enough to have been there and witnessed the Viv Busby (think that was his name) nightmare in 75' this could be a case of deja vu.

If we lose this and our season is over (bar the relegation scrap) can we really say we are better off than the Smith era? At least we hammered West Ham 5-0 a few months before he got the bullet. Mike Walker was chopped not long after we whacked Swindon 6-2, yet we can't even get a striker to score against a non-league outfit!

I am dumbfounded as to why Moyes is so fireproof with the board, shareholders, owner and some fans. This has got to be the worst time to be a blue for as long as I can remember: at least in the 70's we had Latchford and the 90's Big Dunc and King Kev into the early 2000's, what have we got now? An ageing croc, a young croc who scores once every 2 years and a midfielder up front who hasn't scored for a year and carried the club (and his country) on his shoulders for 5 years.

A couple of foreigners who never seem to start a game and a lad who couldn't get a game in his 5 years here and has come back after being seriously injured for a year. Who have we let go? Last season's top scorer, one of the PL's leading strikers this season, and for a side in the bottom 3 plus the most creative midfielder at the club.

Nil Satisfaction, Nil Optimism, that's the motto under Moyes and Round, or Abbot and Costello or whoever they're trying to be

Marc Williams #5 - brilliant post mate. 100% spot on and had me in stitches so much I had to log in to applaud it!

Mick Davies #8 - exactly pal. Dreadful, dreadful times to be a Blue. Hate it right now.

Now I wouldn't class myself as a 'fairweather supporter', but unfortunately I'm seriously thinking of boycotting the entire place and anything to do with it (merchandise etc) until things change ? ie Moyes/Round/Kenwright out the door. I'll be at the next Blue Union do and if Kenwright wants to call me a traitor or a betrayer, then so be it.

Unfortunately, speaking as a one-time fan of Moyes because has done well for us in the past, but he has clearly lost the plot now, the over-defensive mindset and insanely negative coaching of players cannot be tolerated any longer and the winds of change must be allowed to gust through Goodison. Kenwright managing Evertons finances is the same as me managing Tescos, we are both well out of our depth.

And as for that sycophant Round, Moyes can take with him aswell as anyone else that thinks its acceptable to start v Bolton with six defenders and have every man back at every single corner we've had for years.

SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE.

I agree that the football is shite and that it's boring to watch; it has been for years now.

HOWEVER what you have to reliase is that success for Everton FC these days is survival in the top-flight. That's it. Whatever you think of the shite on the pitch, Moyes delivers this 'success' every season. We simple can't compete with the big spenders in the league, so we have to just accept that it's going to be fuckin' shite until someone comes in with a huge wedge of cash for us to spend.

I think we all need to understand that while personally unacceptable (I like thousands of others am fuckin bored of how we're getting results these days), for the 'business' of Everton FC staying in the top flight has to be the priority at the moment, no matter how that's achieved.

The problem I'd have with a new manager coming in is that he'd still have no fuckin' money to spend ? and let's face it who'd want to come in to a club that can't buy anyone, for fuck's sake? ? and it might end up being a SHIT LOAD worse that it is now.

If we got relegated, that would be fuckin it; we'd end up like Sheff Wed.

It's shite and that's the way it's going to stay.......

Tony, I think you will find that Warnock has got the boot because he is not the man to take the club to greater heights even with the investment that is available. Do we think Moyes could revitalise Everton if he got similar investment now or has he gone too stale?

That's exactly what I'm currently doing Alex, I've been accused of being a fair-weather fan, not a true blue etc etc, water of a ducks back to be honest. I am fully behind the blue union campaign but at the moment it is the poor attendances and numbers of fans that are staying away from Goodison that appear to be making the headlines. The only way that Kenwright is going to get the message is mass protest.

I will be at WHL on Wednesday night (in the spurs end unfortunately).

I have gone to Goodison and had a season ticket in the Upper Bullens since I was 8... now 32. I haven't this year. I've picked and chosen my games and every time I've been it has been total dross, complete waste of time and money. I don't want to spend £70 odd quid every other weekend to be miserable.

I have also bought every shirt since the first NEC, endless other merchandise and put far too much emotional currency into supporting Everton for my health to cope.

I will go to WHL as I have tickets, I'm in London and want to have another look at Donovan.

Therafter it all ends until Kenwright has gone. I will not give this lying, cheating scheming scumbag any more of my money.

If that is deterimental to the club then so be it. He needs his hand to be played for him.

For the loyal fans who pay to watch this mediocrity every home game, I have every sympathy. It has never been this poor. I have seen every game admittedly from afar and have yet to see a game which left me in excited anticipation of the next game. The games won have been dour battles with very little passing flair or dominance. The Moyes strategy defies explanation what with his team selection and substitutions.

As I said earlier, there is a some real talent at this club but he seems unable to recognize it instead ploughing on with the same old tired and failed ideas. Barkley has real talent but doesn't get a fair shake. Who ahead of him is playing so great as to keep him out? Nobody! This lad will go the way of Rooney.

We will not get relegated so why doesn't Moyes show some guts and go for an attacking line-up?

James, apparantly you are not giving Kenwright your money. He doesn't take a wage remember!!!

Instead it is going into the players pockets, the same players who can't be arsed to do their jobs properly....(and Kenwright's banks)

If he had money, he'd be shown up for the journryman manager that he is.

He's by no means the worst manager. On the contrary, he does reasonably well with meager resources.

That's the whole point though. The man is happy where he is, and cannot have a lot of personal ambition if he's happy to just be mediocre.

"Having no money to spend is like a suit of armour to Moyes. It protects him, and deflects all of the brickbats that WOULD come his way, if he had money, and was shown for the very average manager that he is. It's easier for Moyes if someone else is getting the flack for lack of resources, and it also helps keep the press off his back."

That comment comes from RAWK, a Liverpool website, even they feel sorry for us.

When will Tim Cahill quit International Football?
Seems he's already quit domestic football.

When will Phil Neville quit football period?
1992.

When will we stop bringing all our players back for corners?
When Diana Ross does a duet with Nick Griffin ?

When will Louis Saha sign a ?pay as you score? contract? (I guarantee he would have more goals than Yakubu if he was on that type of contract.)
Always thought we should have sold him when we were offered silly money a couple of seasons ago.

When will Rodwell catch an injury break?!?
Seems a bit injury prone tbf, doesn't bode well for his or our future.

When will Barkley get his chance?
Diana and Nick looking more of a fav at the moment.

And finally
When will we get to 40 points? (Because even Tamworth made us look pedestrian?) Apologies for the overload of questions but sometimes they can be more revealing than the answers?
About April I reckon.
