Season 2011-12
The Mail Bag

Reduced Prices

 20 Comments: First  |  Last

Just had a note from Liverpool Chamber of Commerce:

Everton are offering discounted tickets through the Chamber:

£15 for Adults
£7.50 for Juniors

Okay, it is against Blackburn but at least they are trying to put bums on seats... or is it to try to keep the numbers up in case the Banks start getting more concerned because of falling attendances??

Unless season tickets are REDUCED next season, the lower admission prices (quite justified in my opinion) just strengthen the case for not renewing next season - purely on economic grounds I might add.

If the decision was based on entertainment value alone, well that has been discussed to death in other threads .....!

I can also purchase discounted tickets.
If i was still season ticket holder i would not be pleased if i had payed top batt, the fact is though, after my only outing against Bolton even the discounted ones are overpriced.

I think we are witnessing the beginning of the end for the dreary duo, Dave and Bill.

Ironically Bill's steadfast support for Dave may hasten his own departure as Moyes style of play will cost the club money as fans will no longer pay to be put through footballing torture.

As ever more desparate measures have to be taken to generate money the lower the clubs margins will go until the inevitable, player sales, which in turn leads to lower attendances etc.

Even though it's desperately sad that's reality for my club, it at least cheers me up that Bill being in control is not sustainable and will soon come to an end, by hook or crook.

I bet Dave's gone before Bill though!!!

Stephen,
They will still be here this time next year, I would lay money on it.
moyes thinks he,s the best man for the job, and kenwright still thinks he's the worlds best Evertonian, and won't let go of his train set

No doubt Colin.

I'd say the contract that Moyes is on will be his last here, there's only so long you can do a job your hearts not in.

With Bill I'd say 2/3 years until his house of cards has completely fell down round his ears.

Dave,

I can't remember hearing of many ways to get into a league game for 15 quid.

Funny thing is, the way this is going it is cheaper not to buy a season ticket as all us soft bastards end up paying more when with all these reduced rates and freebies I see getting offered in the pub by lads too pissed off to go, you can see as many games by spending far less.

Have to laugh actually at the situation we find ourselves in. Moyes supporters were telling me 2 years ago that he was a great manager and the majority of fans like him.

Now, attendances are dropping significantly home and away, GP is like a morgue for nearly every game. We play such boring football that we're last on MotD nearly every week, we sell a striker for £10 million less than came for... he then scores 5 times more goals than our top striker before Christmas. You couldn't make it up, could you?

The idiotic decision to put ticket prices up for 7 games and reduce the prices for 2 games really has backfired only the idiots in the board. The stupid early bird season tickets done before the end of the season so fans can't decide based on the number of signings we have made. Empty seats are a message to Moyes and his apologists that fans are sick of him and the board.

I'd rather go and watch the new Mission Impossible for half the price and be twice as entertained! (which I did the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it)

This is currently the most dour Everton team I have ever witnessed and I refuse to pay to watch them bore me to death!

Stephen

My neighbour regularly gets these discounted offers, he has two lads and its usually adult n child linked, no idea how much he pays though.

I think Paul is right, although your meant to get a couple iof matches free, its probably still cheaper to pick up these bargains during the course of the season than pay for an ST up front.

The only real benefit I can see of an ST is you get to sit in the same seat every week.
or in the event of getting to a cup final

"I'd rather go and watch the new Mission Impossible for half the price and be twice as entertained! (which I did the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it)" - but surely if you keep on going to see Mission Impossible instead of going to Goodison, it will be exactly the same?

You will know the plot/tactics and already know the actors/players and what they will do and know the outcome?

I suppose you would save some money though.

Tony,
I'd still be more surprised watching Mission Impossible for the 38th time than watching Everton!

All season ticket holders should get the same value at least refunded.

Oh no wait, they already have our money.

They don't give a shit about us

It's not just the chamber of commerce offering discounted tickets Everton in the Community have been offering reduced entry prices through the NHS for the last couple of years. Maybe the board are serving the community through its charitable benevolence, you could also argue that they are making some money as opposed to the seats being empty and the tickets unsold. The year after Rooney burst on the scene season ticket sales rocketed on the back of hope and optimism. A comment on here was posted the other day comparing the running of Everton to Waitrose, something tells me though that to be successful you cannot rely on charity.

Offer is also open to Merseyside police federation members for certain games , taking the mickey out of season ticket holders and members of official supporter clubs getting hammered for full price , the club is a joke

I never thought I'd say this, but I actually looked forward to going to Goodison more during the Walter Smith days than I do now.

£15 still seems a little steep to watch our embarrassing attempt at playing the beautiful game under Moyes this year.

Sod Mission Impossible though. I could probably buy the Die Hard quadrilogy box-set for that money... hours of fun!

Will re-assess once we say "Yippee Ki-Yay Dave & Bill!"

Davey, your mission, should you choose to accept it is to win football matches playing entertaining, attacking football.

This club will self destruct in 5 months.

v funny Craig...

if the banks are getting twitchy then tough s*%t they called in their money and left us without a pot to piss in, so this is as much down to them as the club..

I think the way the gates are falling then it will hurry along the selling of the next available asset

Fellaine £ 15m
Rodwell £ 10m
Bily £ £ 500k
