Peel Holdings

Gratuitous rumour mongering session #1:

Anyone give any credibility to rumours that Peel Holdings, in exchange for council support for their ambitious, multi-billion-pound plans for the north docks ?in the face of a threat that UNESCO will remove 'World Heritage Site' status from the Three Graces site ? have offered to meet with the owners of EFC to discuss plans for a new stadium in or around Bankhall Street?

Cough .... bollocks

Am working on the close down of Royal Liver at the moment and just seeing that crash landed Borg cube next to the graces is shocking especially after the furore over the cloud a few years ago but money talks and its not stopped it happening.

Why isn't Goodison a World Heritage site? It's worthy of at least Grade II listed status.

I'm not sure it would be in our best interests to apply for listing.... it could severely hinder future development of the site. If the heritage people ever get round to it you can probably expect a sudden fire before the cert. Arrives. Haha. Heard nothing on the Peel front.... they have blown hot and very cold on it in the past. I havve very little. If any aversion to their proposals for the docks.... and know of several similar edge of downtown developments which have been arranged around new stadia. We'll have to see if they've changed tack once again.....

I'm pretty sure Peel have made it known that they will consider a stadium somewhere around the Central Docks site, but they won't deal with the current custodians, as somehow they have the impression that the current board couldn't deliver a pizza.

It could be the current custodians ineptitude or the shite that would be publicly spouted by BK that would put off a publicly listed company like Peel from partnering with EFC. I can just see the blog from Elstone now, spin spin spin, whilst Kenwright talks about ring-fenced funds and a GBP 500m stadium costing the club 50k.

I bet Tesco's PR dept were tearing their hair out during the DK episode.

I?ve seen articles on Toffeeweb from people purporting to have inside information about Everton Football Club?s dealings with the City Council, Knowsley Council, Tesco, architects, planners, etc, but I don?t think I?ve seen any serious claims about negotiations (failed, ongoing or otherwise) between Everton and Peel Holdings.

Can any of our ?resident experts? shed light on whether discussions have been held with Peel Holdings over the inclusion of a stadium in their development plans for the North Docks area?
