Earlybird Season tickets

 12 Comments: First  |  Last

Why is it getting earlier and earlier every year for fans renewing season tickets?

20 April for the earlybird prices. I am sure it was June last year, while corporate seats get till 13 May. It's as if we are the fans with the ready money available...

I sent two e.mails to the club and got a reply after the second one. This was the reply:

Corporate members are given until the 13th May to renew lounge membership as there is no direct debit option available to them.

Season ticket holders can pay for their season ticket in monthly direct debit instalments, the early bird offer was available to purchase over 5 months, 4 months, 3 months or 2 months.

Although the early bird deadline has passed the option to purchase a season ticket over direct debit is still available, if you would like more information regarding this then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards.

They call us the Everton family... HA HA HA!

Colin, I'm sure it wasn't June last year. Even though I wasn't in the country, I'm sure I remember early bird deadline was around Easter.

I think it's good that the club offers Direct Debit instalments as a way of paying for the season ticket. It makes it a lot easier with the e-tickets. I remember they tried this years ago but abandoned it due to a high default rate and difficulties in "repossessing" the tickets. I'm sure they were among the first to offer instalment tickets.

I think the next time they tried it was with an affiliate credit card where the loyalty points accrued to the club. Maybe that's how they sign players!

That could be an innovative way forward of signing players. Do a deal with the Traffic Police, and convert your penalty points for speeding into pounds towards Pienaar's transfer fee.

Or get Chang to run a beer promotion with points towards signing Drenthe. Maybe not.

Anyone remember when Keijan signed Li Tie and Li Wei Feng for us?

It was April last year too.

We will be paying a season ahead of ourselves if we are not careful.

Tony, they have already tried that strategy in sorts with disastrous decision a few years back to borrow with securitisation on future season ticket sales. You name it, Uncle Bill will have surely tried it!

My point is, What is good for one set of supporters, is good for the other set of supporters. I cannot afford prawn sarnies.

Does it really matter this.....?

The sooner we can get cash - no matter how it's done - the better.

We're skint.

Simple as that.

Yes, it does matter. I'd say 70% of match going supporters have to scrimp and save to get their season ticket.

Don't devalue the hardcore supporters ? we have not got accountants.

Colin,
Your argument makes no sense. you could take up the early bird offer and pay over the following five months, therefore only paying one fifth of the cost of the ticket during the early bird period.
I would say it's a much better deal than trying to find all the money at once, in fact, I don't think I could afford one this year unless i could pay in this manner.

I think if you look at it they are trying to help you out.

Pay a small payment over 5 months via DD and get a big discount for doing so OR pay a bigger sum in one big hit.

It's easy: get Moyes to trot out some line to give sheep-like idiot fans some hope, such as "I want to do my business as early as possible and get things to work with Jelavic."

Then, when the early bird window closes, release another statement along the lines of "Yea, we need to trade players before we can buy, ie, take a United reject, because things are tighter than ever, but Bill is a great chairman doing all he can."

Then, next year, we can do the whole thing again in the knowledge that the same sheep-like idiot fans will complain about it on forums but ultimately go along for the ride again and bury their heads in sand.

These sheep-like idiot fans....who are they then? Do you mean fans of Everton, who stick by their team through thick and thin?, they stick by Everton, not by Moyes or Kenwright or the next "big signing"

These "sheep-like idiot fans" who have had season tickets for decades? Nugget!

Idiotic comment Andy. I'm sure fans can read through the cracks, and our financial situation is beyond well documented. Congratulations on being the idiot in the room though.
