Good Naismith

 Comments (14) jump to end

I read today that Steven is using his own money this Christmas to help the homeless in Liverpool. Good for him.

At least he is using some of his own money to help the less fortunate in our community. Sure, other players are doing some similar but at least we know he is a good guy.

Well done, Steven.

Yeah nice guy, still not very good at football though,

Best thing he's done by a mile.

The 3 goals he's scored aren't bad either Mark.

Well done Steven, a true Evertonian.

He ought to have scored more than 3 by now — it's 7 December, FFS. Still, hats off to him.

Ted, when Naismith is moved from wide right, a position that Moyes appears to have designated as a career killer, and plays in his proper role behind Jelavic, then get yourself some humble pie ready.

Not forgetting of course that the lad is also trying to get to grips with the pace of the Prem while also getting over 2 very serious injuries!

'Tis the season of Goodwill, nah, fuck that, not like he's really earned it is it?

With the obscene wages footballers earn today, I doubt there'll be a need for a Former Players Foundation in the future. And if the likes of Ronaldo ever do fall on hard times, and you see him pan handling outside the Trafford Centre in 20 years, it'd be hard to feel sorry for him.

All that money and whilst there's some who provide millions to charities in Africa (one example, Drogba), there's others who'll wrap a brand new Lambo against a tunnel wall and just leave it and replace it (Ronaldo).

Does that mean Pienaar and Mirallas should also have scored more than 3 by now too?

How silly. Mirallas, have you noticed Mr Reddish, has not been playing for the best part of a month. Pienaar is a different sort of player with different expectations.

Silly playground comment and nowhere near the faintest glimmer of hope. Pull your short kecks up, soft lad!

Nice gesture from the lad. 3 goals from a player who has been used mainly as a sub or on the wing is not too bad. He'll be a decent squad man once he is fully up to speed with the Prem, and fully settled in. It took Rideout a while to settle when he came down here from Scotland...

Paul, Mirallas has made 10 starts to Naismith's 9. They've played a similar amount and Naismith does have more Premier League goals.

Pienaar is a set-up man, granted, but his goal tally is down from last season and previous seasons he's been with us. If memory serves me correctly, he scored 7 in 2009-10, his last full season with us, and 4 in the second half of last year.

Regardless of goals, Naismith isn't first team quality at the moment but Al makes a valid point: he has goals in him, perhaps more so than our starters. He doesn't appear to have the skill to start but if he can net a few coming off the bench, he's not useless.

I don't think talking down to people qualifies as forum abuse but Al made a discussion-worthy point and that comment ruined the discussion.
