I am so pleased about this. He will definelty be a future starting 11; he has so much promise. It just come down to what position he will play RB, CB or midfield I personly hope RB.

No offence to Ben (and welcome to the club) but I hope he's not one of the "one or two more" Moyes has just mentioned.

I am hoping for Lewis Holtby too but I doubt we'd be so lucky.

He's not first team so I'm guessing he's not one of two.
It's a right back though! Hibbo's long term successor.
Wait...I thought that was supposed to be Coleman.

Coleman is not good enough — he was okay for a couple of games out wide, but ran out of ideas (kind of like Ronaldo and that terrible scissors move).

Great news, so pleased that Dundalk feature - didn't we used to play pre-seasons there in the past. Seems we have agreed an Everton X1 V Dundalk sometime as part of the deal.

At least people should get a look at him with the new Under 21 Premier League. I don't know the legalities, but if it's possible, Everton would be wise to show every under 21 league game on Everton TV, for a small subscription fee. I'm sure the Chelsea and United fans wouldn't care for watching that league online. But for clubs like us, it would be great to be able to pay a small fee to be able to watch every Under 21 game and see the players we have coming through. The league probably want people at the matches though, and wouldn't allow it.

Mike, have read many a mention of Tiger in When Skies are Grey.

I'm 35, never saw him play and I fucking love him!!!

Mike I hope this lad has better hair! And maybe times the tackles a bit tighter. John would not have survived 20 minutes with the modern refereeing. Damn it I am getting sentimental for when football was a contact sport

Something right about dealing with our Irish, Welsh and Scots cousins, dunno what - just seems so.

Good luck lad.

This signing is strange, not a lot of good Irish right backs in the Premier League, are there?

I think he will be released along with the rest of our youth squad in the years to come. Just not good enough.

What are our scouts doing to earn their money? Would prefer a young German defender to an Irish one? Time will tell, but I think we should aim higher than Irish.

Mr Sorheim, your ability to write controversy rises again. This time you have over stepped the mark and MK I trust that you will step in and encourage this individual to be more circumspect in his comments.

Not sure that stating a preference for a German over an Irishman is borderline racist. I think It is insulting to Irish players and may offend.

Nations are associated rightly or wrongly with generalised qualities, Italian defending, German organisation, Brazilian flair, goal keepers in African teams, I could go on, maybe at team level, e.g. Liverpool cheating gits....

If I expressed a preference for a young Brazilian striker ahead of an English lad, I doubt this would be regarded as racist.

No idea however if Mr Sorheim is an idiot, sounds German!

Please knock the borderline racist nonsense on the head.

That is certainly more provocative than anything Jimmy has written, crudely or otherwise. He coulda been on his phone, in a rush....you don't know.

I actually took it to mean that a German may be an example of a player from a more established league, therefoe more chance of getting a player who will make the grade as the systems would be more professional. It also doesnt mean that this kid cant make it.

Anthonys is a good point. I was talking to a red once about Lucas. I ventured he was a hard working, industrious, non showy player who gave his all and was a decent holding player, no more, and that I couldnt understand the shit he got, other than for not being Alonso.

The red replied he didnt like him as he was Brazilian and didnt do any tricks!!

I took the conversation no further.
