Oster joins Barnet FC

A name from Everton's past, still playing at 33, John Oster has joined Barnet. Last season he played for then-Championship side Doncaster Rovers but was released at the end of the season after his contract expired.

Another one of the younger lads who fluttered onto the scene, and just as quickly fluttered away. Cadamateri, Barlow, Branch and such like.

We seem to do a bit better now with bringing the younger lads on thankfully.

Gerrard, Oster, Ball, Short, Phelan, Farrelly, Clelland, O'Kane, Ward, Gemmill, Williamson, Jevons, Cadamateri, Bakayoko, Branch. Now that really was a squad before Dour Davie and that (insert expletive) BK took over and ripped the heart out of this great club.

Worms and cans Nick!!!

Always brown bread, other than a bacon or sausage sandwich, my good man.

Brown sauce, without fail, resides on those white bread bacon/sausage sandwiches.

And the white bread will be toasted under the grill, as thats how bread is properly toasted.

As for what was spread on my aforementioned brown toast.....it was Nutella.

I fucking love it.

Of a morning however, I shall be spreading marmalade or, peanut butter of the smooth variety on my brown toast.

If im going to work peanut butter, if im chilling marmalade.

Go......

I had a bevvy with Oster in town just after he signed and remember him being a lot taller than you would think.

Thanks Bobby. I might have to go and cook myself a bacon sandwich now.

Peanut butter and jelly on toast. Use apple jelly and sprinkle with cinnamon. Preferably brown bread.

Oster had a lot of energy, if I remember rightly. Unfortunately, that was all he had.

Breakfast insight: Today it was toasted granary bread and slightly salted butter, with two mugs of double-strength coffee. Oh yeah, and cigarettes, obviously.

Tony Grant was a decent player. In a better Everton side he might have improved more than he did. Google reveals he is now a coach at Blackburn. I didn't know they had coaches now. Thought they just ran round like headless chickens.

First saw him at Blundell Park when he broke into my home town's, Grimsby's, first team, and you can tell he was gonna go on to bigger things. I always remember him getting a Man of the Match award for Everton on Sky and they had to be careful about giving him the champagne as he was only 17 then!

The next Ryan Giggs wasn't he?

Probably still a couple of years before we see his best then.
