Moyes looking for elusive balance

David Moyes is looking for his team to find some winning consistency after seeing them drop more points with defeat at Reading last weekend.

Everton have been creating plenty of chances in a season that has seen an attacking shift in their style of play but profligacy in front of goal and some slack defending has cost them the points that fans and manager alike believe their performances have merited.

"There's been a couple of games where we maybe should have scored more but we've also got to make sure when we're not scoring that we don't concede," Moyes says.

"Our play has been good enough to have merited more goals and everybody's got to make sure they chip in, the goals have got to come from all departments.

"I'm going out to score and I'm going out to try to win. The best teams get the balance exactly right. But I would still quite happily settle for winning games 1-0, because the job is to win, that's always the priority."

The Blues have back-to-back home games against Norwich and Arsenal in the coming week before a trip to Champions Manchester City on 1st December.

I see improvements coming, hopefully when Norwich visit our ground. COYB.

Talk is cheap, Moyes. Start by dropping the shite who haven't performed for 6 weeks. Any manager worth his salt would. Do you think the likes of Ferguson would tolerate a player under performing? Not a chance... Moyes does though, season after season.

The way he's lauded by the media makes me fucking retch. The man is a coward, loyal to under-performing imposters. I said after the Leeds game our season is over and I've seen nothing since [Fulham apart] to make me change my opinion. Not a chance of Europe and forget the FA Cup — his record in that is dismal. Even when we've got our strongest 11 out, we're still prone to conceding silly goals. No I'm afraid it's same old, same old.
