Everton will turn to Cardiff boss Malky Mackay if David Moyes leaves

Mackay is almost a carbon copy of Moyes. Both Scots, they share the same hard-graft, no-nonsense qualities. Mackay spent two years at Watford before joining Cardiff two seasons ago. He has one year left on his current contract.

Whoever we sign, if we do need to at the end of the season, I'm going to get behind them... As much as I can from New Zealand anyway.

On a side note, I heard Talk Sport mention this morning they have had a tip off Moyes will go as the funds offered to him this summer will not be enough in Moyes mind to progress any further than he has already taken us. Looks like the extra £20m TV money this season has already been 'ring fenced.'

Nightmare scenario A). Both will dither over the contract situation until the start of the new season when Moyes will inform BK that chesterfield, Alloa athletic and Crewe were the only teams to make him a firm offer during the summer and he now wants to stay, but only if his contract is improved and he is given funds to improve the squad.
BK offers Moyes a 12 shillings p/w increase (yes that's 12 bob in old money) in his contract plus 5% of what he can get from selling Fellaini, Baines and Mirallas.
Moyes finally discovers he has a pair of testicles and rejects BK's "generous offer" and immediately applies for JSA. Pip Neville is named interim manager for 5 years and offers his mate, David Beckham, a 15 year play whenever you feel like contract. Nev also decides to play until he's sixty.
Nightmare scenario B). Moyes decides to stay after losing most of our remaining games and finishing 7th behind the rs. Fellaini, Baines, Mirallas, Coleman, Barkley, Duffy and Pienaar are all sold for a combined total of £31.2m to old friend, Sir Alex ferguson as Moyes considered them to be "too flamboyant for my liking. I need grafters who can head the ball 100 yards and can run the London marathon in the morning and then play a game in the afternoon". Moyes makes huge offers for 8 scottish centre halves and a Moldovan goalie . Phil Neville is named captain for life and Naismith is named 1st choice striker.
Best case scenario. Moyes shows some dignity and fucks off in may, hopefully with bk, nev and fucking Naismith. Basil Brush is named interim chairman/manager until we can get a chairman ith some business acumen and a manager who has some fire in his belly and some tactical nous. Anyone interested?

A bigger worry is we will be left with Billy liar picking his next stooge. Expect a Mackay or similar as there will be no white knight with the next Klopp on it. Left upto Bill it will be someone who can manage expectations without exceeding them.

It would be better if we had so much money that it would be impossible to get relegated with anyone at the helm... but that's not the case right now is it.

If this is true of the man (I have no idea) it's terrifying news.
This club needs inspiration no more Mcleish, Mcarthy, Moyes fear driven football.
603 Posted 21/04/2013 at 16:01:52
If there's to be no trophies and no good footy played, then what is the point of any of it?

I would be happy with someone like Malky Mackay though. I would love us to get Gus Poyet tbh, has his teams play good football and always done well wherever he has been.

Moyes's dithering (where have we hard that before about the great man?) is humiliating for the club and confirms (if proof really be needed) that he always puts himself before us: no class.
Few chairmen, the timid and gutless Kenwright aside, would tolerate it.

My money's on David Jones - unless the buy-out is too high!
964 Posted 22/04/2013 at 10:57:42
They are offering 6/4 on Martinez, after that it's anyone's guess. Neville is next fav. @16/1, then Redknapp @ 20/1 - and as far as Mackay goes you can get 33/1.

No, no, no, not Jol for the love of God, I can't stand his voice, he's creepy, his face is too big, not great footie reasons, I know, cosmetic for sure, but NO.
Me? If only: one from Laudrup, Poyet, Zola?, an unknown Portuguese guy, the fat Spanish waiter (oops), anyone who doesn't sport dinky little grey waistcoats.
Reality? one from Martinez, Mackay, O'Neill, Hughes, Lennon, Lambert .......

I know this is the wrong thread, but I just want to say: COME ON BAYERN! I can't be doing with Barcelona. I hope the Germans smack their bottoms - quite hard.
276 Posted 23/04/2013 at 20:20:23
Barca are not the all dominating team of a few years ago and were lucky against PSG. The Germans are taking over, Bayern are by far the better team, and under Pep next season they could be the ones to beat for a few years to come.
I hope Heyneckes wins the Treble in his final season.
279 Posted 23/04/2013 at 20:32:32
Note: We need a German in our team. I've no idea who...

284 Posted 23/04/2013 at 20:43:50
For me, I'd go for the Peter Reid & Duncan Ferguson combination — Who needs Di Canio to lift a club?
We may not play like Brazil but it would fantastic to restore Blue pride.

I think Martinez or Zola would be good choices they both aspire to play attractive, attacking football rather playing not to lose. At a push that young guy who runs North Korea may be worth a punt as least he threatens to attack!

If a paper comes up with some bullshit story, then the bookies drop the odds in that individual, people will be convinced it's actually based on concrete evidence and part with their hard-earnt cash. Newspapers/Bookies 1, Idiots 0, I think.

Fellow Scot David Moyes is among the top-flight managers helping Malky Mackay plan for life at Premier League level.
The two men met in Liverpool and Mackay says: “I was privileged to be able to spend a couple of days with David (Moyes) at Everton. I watched him work at close quarters and it was great to be given that opportunity.
“Everton have had stability with their manager and he has done an amazing job for them considering the finances he has to work with. What he has done for that club is a tribute to his hard work and ability.
Perhaps the Journo put two and two together and got five...or ...?
