Where is Idrissa Gueye?

Is Idrissa Gueye actually coming back to Goodison? I can not find any reference to how supposed negotiations are proceeding. Is this a red herring or what?

The latest reports suggest he's ironing out the final details of what Paris Saint-Germain still owe him in terms of loyalty bonuses or something and that the deal should be done by the end of the week.

Whether that's in time to be eligible to face Villa remains to be seen, of course...

Appears he wants a severance payment he's due from PSG. That appears to be the hold up.

Get on the case, Trevor! We need answers! We need a No 6.

Wait, is it still a No 6 if he plays in a 3-5-2? Let's call it a CDM.

I’d give them till Friday and then tell them, au revoir!

Colin, I agree, it's gonna cost us also. I'm not that bothered about him TBH.

Thees is a peeefect case for the legendary Inspector Clouseau.

Thing is, if he doesn't come to us, then it's highly unlikely he will go anywhere, cos he will still want his severance payment off PSG, and at the moment it appears they are unwilling to pay it.

Also, PSG want rid, so it is really a Catch-22 situation for Gana Gueye. Forego the severance payment and move on, or return to PSG and sit on your arse and do nothing!!

I know where he is - Limbo.

Now reported that Everton have been unable to find a mutual agreement with PSG for Gueye and have turned their attention to Red Bull Salzburg's Mohamed Camara.

Perhaps we weren't prepared to pay the asking price or wanted him on the never-never?

So I'm in the clear to start calling him a hater again?

Joking... c'mon, you know I am.

I wonder if we had been lining up Gueye only in the event that we didn't sign Onana and now that we have Onana are not that interested?

I still would like to see us sign Gueye.

It’s never done, till it’s done, but it seems that this transfer epic is, running out of time.

But who knows what will happen, the next few days.

Now to beat Villa.

I haven't heard anything from a reputable source that there's any issue beyond the haggling for severance pay, but who knows?

Until the player's actually wearing the shirt, I tend to take everything with a sizable grain of salt.

Bill, I can't even find very much conclusive about that, there's usually much more "Noise". Quite strange.

Mohamed Camara in coming! Now that's the defensive midfielder we should get.

PSG are demanding £9M... lol. Why should anyone cough up so much money for a soon-to-be 33-year-old geezer!?

Saw the rumour about switching to Camara because Everton & PSG can't agree terms of the deal.

Hopefully we'll get Camara and tell Gueye to fuck off.

Thanks for the loyalty we showed you...

Danny, in my opinion, he wants the money he's losing in the last year of his contract, leave him there.

Anyone seen Camara play? He seems very highly regarded and another young massive potential player. It may just be that we have decided to stop the haggling over Gana because we have learned that Camara is positive about coming to Everton.

Who knows what is going on.

This is Everton after all.

The thing that has concerned me is that this has been running for a few weeks now so we either want him or we don't or he wants to come or he doesn't.

Red herrings like "He is waiting for his visa" and "He is just negotiating his payoff from PSG" are just bullshit.

I suspected that, after we got Onana and discovered Calvert-Lewin's injury, we realized the cupboard might be getting a bit bare and put his move on hold. He may then have decided to stay put and get the windfall of his last €5M this season and then go to MLS for an easy life next season.

Pity because he would have slotted straight in and knows the club so well.

Camara seems to be very well thought of and at 22 one to grow with the team.

36 games last season no injuries as a defensive midfielder. 24 the season before, 17 as a DM. Was banned for 3 months due to the Mali team doctor giving him and another team member some anti-altitude-sickness medication, which contained a banned substance. Tribunal ruled it was not the players' fault but they must take responsibility for what substances enter the body.

This could be one of those moves that comes off when it seems most unlikely.

Jay #20,

In my opinion, it's nothing to do with Everton; he wants the money he's losing in the last year of his contract. Leave him there.

In answer to your question. He's with Riquelme, looking after the Arteta money.

John, he’s with Riquelme, looking after the Arteta money with Moutinho watching the space, while Fernandes searches for the biro Bill nicked off him.

It seems as the deal between Everton and PSG is agreed and Everton have agreed personal terms with Gana, but the stumbling block seems to be the pay off Gana thinks he is entitled to from PSG.

Now I think Everton have to give Gana a deadline and say if you cant get agreement over this dispute by next Wednesday then the club will have no alternative to walk away and look elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if Everton haven't already put a timescale on getting this done.

Camara has signed for Monaco, for £15m. I don't know if he was any good. I've never seen him play. I also don't know if having him and Onana being 19 and 22 scared or excited me. Either way it's done now.

Sounds like a greedy bugger to me who wants a kick-back from both clubs. No doubt, his attitude is encouraged by his ever grasping agent!
