Everton U18s 1 - 3 Derby County U18s
Everton U18s lost at home to Derby County at Finch Farm today in the U18 Premier League, after kicking off at 12:00 noon.
Leighton Baines's side are sitting next to bottom of the Northern league table, having now won only one of their opening eight games.
There was a new name in the squad: midfielder Melvin Matos on the bench.
By half-time, the visitors had taken a 2-goal lead. Baines made an unprecedented triple change at the break and Everton clawed a goal back through Joel Catesby inside 10 minutes of the second half.
But the Blues could not trouble the Rams further, with a third goal conceded in the final 10 minutes.
Everton U18s: G Pickford, Finney, Van Schoor, O Samuels-Smith (46' Davis), Thomas, Butler (46' Gardner), Beaumont-Clark, Bates (46' Martos), Sherif (61' Wren), Morgan, Catesby.
