Everton U21s 0 - 2 Wolverhampton Wanderers U21s

Everton U21s lost their Premier League 2 match-up with Wolves at Finch Farm this afternoon after falling behind to an early goal from the visitors on just 11 minutes.

The visitors added a second goal to seal the win after the hour mark.

Everton U21s: Barnsley, Dixon, John, Welch, Jones, Djankpata [Y:45'], Whitaker, Onyango [Y:77'], Kouyate (80' Heath), Metcalfe, Armstrong (80' Ebere).

Subs not Used: G Pickford, O Samuels-Smith, Barker.

Ebere is on the bench for the U21s v Wolves at Finch Farm this afternoon, they are losing 1-0 after 11 minutes,.

I don’t think this game is being made available to season ticket holders as once was the case.

These games are a hard watch at the best of times, Dave, and I was asleep at the wheel for this one, so thanks for the heads up.

Ebere apparently came on for 10 minutes at the end. According to my records, I think this is his first showing at this exalted level in our esteemed Academy.

There should be a match report posted on the official website soon enough, along with so-called highlights consisting of Wolves knocking in their two goals. Ho hum.

No sign again of Kingsford Boakye, ominously, after just one outing for the U21s and one for the U18s. Perhaps they've figured out they've been sold a pup!

Sorry… the stench of perennial defeat is getting to me.

Cheer up, Michael — we now have a couple of weeks looming without defeat, at senior level at least!

Yes, Michael, it's hard to get excited about the Academy teams but I thought a look at the lad who has scored quite a few recently would have been an interesting look, but 10 minutes is not so much and they never showed anything of it at all.

Like Dave says above, we can relax, to a certain extent, with the first team not playing for a couple of weeks and Luton might draw with Forest tomorrow which might cheer a lot of us up and let us be grateful for small mercies!!

If Ebere was knocking them in left right and centre for the U18s, U21' and England youngsters, Dyche would still have him as an unused sub in favour of our non-scoring Calvert-Lewin, Beto, and Chermiti, until the lad turned 22, then he might get 15 minutes here and there.

As there were a couple missing tonight, notably Lewis Warrington and Mackenzie Hunt, I was going to ask about the U21s who were reported to have travelled with the big boys to Portugal.

Then I saw that someone on Twitter has posted that Lewis Warrington is out there with the first team.

Reminder: Coby Ebere has been scoring goals for the U18s. Tonight was his first exposure at the elevated level of the U21s. He did not score. He has not scored any goals yet for the U21s.
