Senegal beat Sudan in Last 16 of Afcon
After an early scare, Senegal beat out Sudan in the Last 16 of Afcon at the Grand Stade de Tanger, Morocco.
Senegal went behind to an early goal, but have fought their way back to a 2-1 lead at half-time, with a brace from Idrissa Gana Gueye's namesake, Villarreal's Papa Gueye.
PSG Teenager Ibrahim Mbaye made it certain for Senegal with a well-worked second-half goal that he finished superbly under pressure.
Idrissa Gana Gueye played the whole game but Iliman Ndiaye sat it out on the bench, presumed injured.

I see Ndiaye hasn't started for Senegal today and was subbed at HT in the previous game - is he injured?

Brilliant 3rd goal for Senegal from teenager Ibrahim Mbaye.
Superb finish!

Michael, if Ndiaye made the bench, thankfully his injury problem was greatly exaggerated.
I was also shouting for Sudan, Kevin!

Anybody know if Everton have any of their Transfer Committee (formerly known as Scouts) at this competition?
Or are we just awaiting the stats?

The scouts were going to go but their labradors are banned, so it's a no show!

Inconvenient as the timing is, I really hope that Senegal do go all the way. There's nothing better than having that winning mentality in the squad (look at the impact of the likes of Dewsbury-Hall and Grealish).
Hopefully they both come back in one piece though!

Hmm Chris #8,
After today, I'd sacrifice that intangible "winning mentality" for two of our first choice players back tomorrow... in a heartbeat.
