Everton Women goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan has signed a new deal which extends her stay with the club until June 2028.

The Republic of Ireland international has donned the gloves for the Blues since signing from West Ham United in 2021. She has established herself as one of the best goalkeepers in the country and Brosnan made the most saves in the Women’s Super League in the 2024/25 season.

“I'm really, really excited to be here and to continue my journey with Everton,” Brosnan told evertontv.

“I've had a great few years here and I'm looking forward to the future.

“The club means so much to me. I know how much the club means to the city and I think it just has such a family feel to it. It's a great club to be a part of.

“It is absolutely amazing to be able to play at Goodison Park. I think Goodison is such a historic stadium and has so much history there from the Men's team. It is really exciting for us to be able to write our own history there. We have loved our time there and can't wait to continue on in the future.

“The fans, they mean so much to us. They back us week-in and week-out and show up and support us so much. It means a lot to us to have them in our corner. I think it is important for us to get results for us, but for them as well.

“We want to create memories and exciting moments at Goodison and away from home as well. We are looking forward to pushing on now ahead of the end of the season and finishing on a high.”

Everton replaced Brian Sorensen with Scott Phelan as the new interim coach of the women’s team. Phelan led the side to a 1-0 win over London City Lionesses last week.

Brosnan was instrumental in that contest as she made a series of saves to secure a clean sheet and also picked up the Player of the Match award following a wonderful performance in the capital.

“Getting a clean sheet and three points on the road in this league is really difficult, so I am really proud of the team," Brosnan continued.

"Scott has been really good. I've really enjoyed working with him. It's really special to have someone that's been at the club for so long – played here and managed here. He really knows what it means to play for Everton and what it means to be part of Everton. It’s great for him to be able to instill those values in the squad. It's so important for us to bring that energy into our performances.

“It's a great group of girls – I feel really lucky. I have such good friends here and teammates. It's so great to turn up to work every day and enjoy each other's company. It’s amazing.

“I’ve been here for a while now, so I've been really lucky to have such good friends and meet so many people along the way and form friendships for life. It means a lot to me."
