Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall believes that the Hill Dickinson Stadium “is built for European nights” after helping Everton secure a 2-0 win over Burnley and taking another step in their push for European qualification.

Dewsbury-Hall scored the second goal after finishing off the move involving Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye while James Tarkowski headed home James Garner’s free-kick to open the scoring in the first half.

Victory on Tuesday allowed the Toffees to finally break their winless streak at home - a run of games that had begun since the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on December 6.

Speaking about rediscovering home comforts, Dewsbury-Hall said, “Look at the stadium, it is built for European nights. It is a massive club and that is one of the reasons why I wanted to come: to get the club back in to the European places. I believed with the new project it was possible. We are in a good position and it is about doing the business for the rest of the season.”

Speaking about his own performance as well as the team’s, the midfielder added, “I feel like I’m getting in to a nice rhythm," said Dewsbury-Hall. "I am confident, I am feeling the best I have ever felt physically and football-wise.

“I thought tonight we were really good – more like what we want to be at home: dominant and limiting our opponents to not many chances. It is a great reaction in the last four of five days to get back-to-back wins after two losses. It shows great character from the lads and puts us in a great position ahead of the run-in.”

Dewsbury-Hall’s maiden campaign with the Toffees has been very impressive. He has scored six goals and three assists and has been vital for David Moyes. His form has also given England manager Thomas Tuchel something to think about.

"Getting in to the England squad is a dream of mine. I know the competition is stacked, but I am having a really good season – it is probably the best season I have ever had in the Premier League. My main focus is getting in to Europe with this team. If we do that, it gives me a better chance internationally.”

Neil (7): 'It must be said, Ndiaye had one of his better games except when he went for his own score when he had two options -- the less was Beto on his left but McNeill was totally free on the right'.

If I may Neil:'It must be said, Ndiaye had one of his better games except when he made an utter twat of himself with his pathetic dive in the first half'. Knobhead.

Our club used to once exist to compete and try and win trophies Kieran. When the team was in real trouble then the coach welcomes were special, and when the team survived, the outpouring of relief was completely awe-inspiring.

You don’t really find out anything about anyone until things go bad, so when things were going very bad for Everton, I think it was clear to see how much the club means to the fans.

Get us in Europe by all means because I’m sure there are thousands of Evertonians, who can’t wait to go on a European tour, but if you can win us a trophy, then one thing I can promise you is off the scale celebrations, that will stay with everyone involved until their dying day.

Wait until you hear us singing we shall not be moved inside Wembley stadium, and then you will realise how special Everton Football Club, can be🤞
