Both Everton players have seen their Premier League form suffer after the tournament but that hasn't treatened their places in national team.

Can’t see us giving Gueye a new contract, 37 shortly, hope they have a good World Cup. Watching Sky, Maguire not in squad, Toney included??

I've a Senegal flag alongside England and Scotland in my office (Mum from Scotland).

Due to the absence of "in their prime" world class stars (eg Messi, Modric, Ronaldo OAP club) I see Senegal as a dark horse to win it.

Would be great to see an Evertonian World Cup winner for the first time in 60 years although our old boy Materazzi post Everton obviously made or received his mark from Zinadine Zidane.

Is there a league in Senegal and would they be the only team at the World Cup that don't have any players actually playing in their own country?

And I always thought the idea of international sport was to compare the different styles some of the best examples being the Magic Magyars of the '50s, Brazil and Ramsey's wingless wonders.

Wasn't it Karl Marx who said the downfall of capitalism would be the movement of workers in following the money.

Have any of our "Transfer Committee" any contacts in Senegal or anywhere in Africa for that matter? Or do they remember signing the wrong Chinese or the Chang training camps in Thailland?

Alan, yes, there's a league and they're not the only one with no one from their domestic league selected.

DRC Congo just moved their pre-tournament training to Belgium as the USA has put a 21-day quarantine on anyone going to Congo visiting the USA due to Ebola. Luckily none of their players play domestically.

Ndiaye will be bladdered by the time the new season starts, he's had the Africa Cup of Nations, been blowing out of his arse now since March already.

I've a sneaky feeling that Argentina will retain it myself.

Morocco broke the mould last time around in what could only be best described in Qatar as a very bizarre World Cup, both location wise and the timing of it.

In the main, the African nations flatter to deceive for whatever reason, we've had some really top Nigeria sides over the years that haven't lived up to it for a clear example.
