"Anyone else watch that Luton fan on YouTube: I can't believe we're signing Ross Barkley, this is our signature signing, if you had said this a year ago I would have said it was impossible. Ross is a hatter." Kieran Kinsella 2 Posted 25/08/2023 at 19:27:56 I hope Luton lose 500-0. My old Headmaster in primary school was a Hhatter. Awful, horrible man who wouldn't be allowed to "teach" these days. Paul Ferry 3 Posted 25/08/2023 at 19:30:16 And Moyes signs Kudus, subject to a medical, who bagged a hat-trick yesterday and we… Jeff Armstrong 4 Posted 25/08/2023 at 19:35:08 #5 ……Don'tDespite identifying him last year at 㾸million! Paul Ferry 5 Posted 25/08/2023 at 19:40:05 I know Jeff, sorry, I was thinking that too, this fella is top 4 quality, Soren Moyer 6 Posted 25/08/2023 at 19:45:28 Imagine if we had got this Kudus fella last season! Meanwhile, Hudson-Odoi is off to Forrest. Also, does anyone else think that Armel Bella-Kotchap could have been a perfect replacement for Keane? Paul Ferry 7 Posted 25/08/2023 at 19:54:48 Forest picked up three players last two days, including another Chelsea lad on loan, Andrey Santos, Brazillian lad, 19, creative midfielder, considered to be a great prospect. Kieran Kinsella 8 Posted 25/08/2023 at 20:02:49 Soren,If we'd bought Kuddus last year how could we have afforded to stockpile more central midfielders that can't score onto the crowd we already had? Paul Ferry 9 Posted 25/08/2023 at 20:18:26 Great goal, he's doing well under Potchettino. Mike Doyle 10 Posted 25/08/2023 at 20:39:06 Kieran #3,I'd settle for Luton losing by a 3-goal margin – that would be enough to get us off the bottom of the table tonight!Defeats for Burnley and Sheffield Utd over the weekend would be most welcome too. Can't believe I'm thinking like this after only 2 games. Soren Moyer 11 Posted 25/08/2023 at 20:53:03 Kieran, You're right mate. I didn't think of that. 😠Paul Ferry 12 Posted 25/08/2023 at 21:37:09 Ross was not very good was he? Mind you Luton have been awful with that look of 20th. James Marshall 13 Posted 25/08/2023 at 21:41:07 We're not bottom anymore! Rob Halligan 14 Posted 25/08/2023 at 21:42:13 How poor are Luton? A decent Sunday league team would give them a game. James Marshall 15 Posted 25/08/2023 at 21:44:49 Rob - why do I have a feeling that comment will come back to haunt us? Rob Halligan 16 Posted 25/08/2023 at 21:46:49 James, it won't, trust me, they are shite. If they get more than 10 points this season, I will be surprised. Kieran Kinsella 17 Posted 25/08/2023 at 21:49:18 497 goals fewer than I was hoping for but 3 will have to do. Denver Daniels 18 Posted 25/08/2023 at 21:50:18 Looks like the plan is "hope that we're better than the 3 promoted teams". What could possibly go wrong? Michael Kenrick 27 Posted 26/08/2023 at 13:52:02 Richarlison – petulant pillock pulled by Postecoglou after getting the stupidest yellow card. Dale Self 28 Posted 26/08/2023 at 13:56:14 I feel genuinely bad for Richarlison but that is cancelled out completely by knowing we stuck it to Levy on a deal he thought was a steal. Dale Self 29 Posted 26/08/2023 at 14:05:32 Are there any golfers watching who think Bournemouth's manager looks like a Seve Ballesteros clone? Billy Shears 30 Posted 26/08/2023 at 14:19:16 It's not working out for Richy in the Smoke is it!No doubt we'll end up taking him back at some point (which we shouldn't imho). Jeff Armstrong 31 Posted 26/08/2023 at 23:45:19 I must have been watching a different match cos Luton will definitely give us a game at Kenilworth Road.Of the 10 points they will get this season, 3-6 are guaranteed. 😠Tony Everan 32 Posted 27/08/2023 at 14:57:11 Sheffield Utd not rolling over for Man City, they've got plenty of fight in them, not much quality but fit and fighting. Looks like their main outlet is attacking the left-back. Traore looks pacy and lively, maybe Mykolenko would be better against him than Young? We are in for a scrap next week which we will have to expect and be up for to win, there can be no excuses on that score. Andy Meighan 33 Posted 27/08/2023 at 15:07:21 Sheffield Utd will bounce us next week. Our players are mental cowards, they'll piss themselves when they hear that atmosphere. Obviously this isn't over yet but Sheff Utd seem to have more fight in them than us.Oh and whoever said Luton would only get about 10 points, I think got mistaken for us. Because under this dinosaur it'll be Everton that'll be lucky to get 10 points. Brian Williams 34 Posted 27/08/2023 at 15:13:14 City have caught the Everton disease at the moment (50 minutes in) though build-up symptoms are of a much higher level. 🤣 Tony Everan 35 Posted 27/08/2023 at 15:24:00 It's like the Alamo now, surely they'll score at least one in the next 30 minutes. Brian Williams 36 Posted 27/08/2023 at 15:25:12 I know it's wrong but Haaland's reaction to the City supporter who ran on to celebrate with him after scoring is priceless! Soren Moyer 37 Posted 27/08/2023 at 15:48:29 1-1 and 1-2! Paul Ferry 38 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:25:34 As much as I do not like Newcastle FC, the shitty city, the average weight 23 stone shirtless skunk in the stands, I do admire the way they have done their transfer business.Tonali will be one of the best buys of the season. I fear that Gordon will be a success there and that 40 milionish will turn out to be decent trade. Livramento is a very astute buy. In fact, they did not buy many - steady ship is good - and brought in a couple of interesting looking loan lads. They have not gone Moshiri crazy with the cash. I can't bear the thought of celebrations if they win something - it will make the Hammers party look like an AA no meat mid-morning get-together. 2-2 Rob Halligan 39 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:38:02 Fucking shithouse of a referee. Trent Arnold should have been sent off after 5 minutes. Tony Everan 40 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:39:01 If he wasn't on a yellow he'd a got booked, ref shit himself. Paul Ferry 41 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:41:34 The sons of Dean are at it again and while we're on it how the fuck was that third Villa goal allowed to stand, how was Watkins not interfering with play? Dale Self 42 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:41:56 Fair enough Paul. I despise them anyway across the board. The italian style of midfielder with physicality (Kulusevic) does breakthrough more often than not. TAA foul was just extended arm no shirt pull. Paul Ferry 43 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:46:03 I don't like it one bit Dale - are you really bald? - but I see the skunk slime writing on the wall. I know that Rob hates them too (almost as much as he hates Spurs), but I have a sneaking admiration for the Evertonian in charge of 'em! Paul Ferry 44 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:46:53 and who the feck taught the thick twats how to spell? Rob Halligan 46 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:55:31 Can't believe the skunks aren't getting the ball out wide left to Gordon, and let him have another run at Trent Arnold… Fuck me, he's only gone and scored! Trent Arnold fuck up, giving Gordon a clear run on goal, and even then he tried to pull Gordon's shirt off him. I can see Arnold being subbed soon. Dale Self 47 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:55:43 Gordinho. 1-0 Andrew McLawrence 48 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:56:19 Tosspot Gordon just scored Dale Self 49 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:56:58 TAA tried to grab shirt. Red for intent. VAR that Paul Ferry 50 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:57:33 What did I say about Gordon! He has been slaughtering TAA all the match. That was a brilliant finish – 㿔M looking cheap! Brent Stephens 51 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:57:53 Gordon, you're forgiven (for now!).And a red! Brent Stephens 52 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:58:27 And red card to be withdrawn? Paul Ferry 53 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:58:28 VVD and TAA imploding Rob Halligan 54 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:59:00 Van Dijk sent off. Should be down to nine! Brian Williams 55 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:59:10 Brent. No.Rather him sent off than that clown TAA.....though he'll follow soon hopefully. Brent Stephens 56 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:59:21 How sad! Dale Self 57 Posted 27/08/2023 at 16:59:59 That was a brill pass by Gordon no doubt. St Virgil just called the ref a fucking joke. That can't be allowed. Brent Stephens 58 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:00:30 Nailed on penalty. Tony Everan 59 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:00:33 Why is Van Dijk still on the pitch? He's been sent off…Get off and come back if the VAR overturns it. Brent Stephens 60 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:00:57 Sorry - nailled on red! Dale Self 61 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:01:52 Van Dijk got his card's worth on that kick to Isak. Fucker. Rob Halligan 62 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:02:13 Straight red card, so no doubt the gobshites will appeal it. Brian Williams 63 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:02:54 Shall we start the petition on behalf of the shite?Saint Virgil is innocent. Paul Ferry 64 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:03:06 Gordon is running this game. Saint Vigil van Dijk will not be at Liverpool next season, Roma perhaps. Poor fella, he's never been the same same Pickford assaulted him. I didn't fuck know that TAA went to my old school in Crosby, the PE teacher didn't teach him how to defend. Andy Meighan 65 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:03:53 The devil's bastards will come back and draw this. Vile club. Paul Ferry 66 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:04:04 No way that one gets Maccalistered, that's 3 games out, problem is that most shite fans might well be pleased about that Kieran Kinsella 67 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:05:13 How is that a red card? Ridiculous? Yes it was a foul and against the rules but it was done by a Liverpool player so is supposed to be exempt from punishment. What next? Klopp being held to the same behavior standards as other managers? Paul Ferry 68 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:05:21 Can someone tell Brent what the difference is between a penalty and a sending off. Brent Stephens 69 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:06:34 Haha, Paul! Typing too quickly and excitedly!BTW, what is the difference? Brent Stephens 70 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:07:13 Anyway, Paul, it should have been a penalty as well!!! Rob Halligan 71 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:07:26 Was only joking, Paul. They certainly wouldn't get that one rescinded, but won't it just be a one match ban? Paul Ferry 72 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:08:25 It's nice and exciting watching Liverpool implode. Andrew Ellams 73 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:09:05 If that was a penalty then it's not a red card is it under the ridiculous double jeopardy rules. Brent Stephens 74 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:09:12 One match it will be, Rob. Dale Self 75 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:10:16 Does Joelinton have a card yet? Hope not because he is good for a few contact kicks. Paul Ferry 76 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:10:17 Cheers Rob! Hope you weren't too deflated yesterday and saw some bright things. Gerry Quinn 77 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:16:17 On the BBC page...Sam: Trent booked for being shoved, Van Dijk sent off for getting the ball? Are we going to get an explanation for this one?Anyone have a guess who this wanker called "Sam" supports - even if it is not a Norwegian sounding name? Paul Ferry 78 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:16:58 Sammy shithouse Lee? Gerry Quinn 79 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:17:33 Ha, never thought of that, PF - good one Dale Self 80 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:19:23 Fuckin Tonali. That was a Bernardo level dance. Anthony A Hughes 82 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:23:47 Justice done, Alexander Armold should have been off earlier. Dale Self 83 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:26:56 Somewhat let down Liverpool aren't down by more already. Brian Williams 84 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:30:29 Spit the Dog on Sky. "No red card, how do we know it's a goal scoring opportunity"?Why the fuck the rest of the pundits didn't burst out laughing I don't know!Err, its a goal scoring opportunity because he's through on goal with only the keeper to beat you fuckwit! Simon Dalzell 85 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:30:45 Carragher talking utter shite as usual. ''We don't know if it was a goal scoring opportunity.'' lol. Brent Stephens 86 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:37:00 Gordon terrifying that left flank. Bill Gall 87 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:37:19 Never thought I would hear it but Michael Owen agreed that it was a red card, and he also said that if Anthony Gordon had gone down with the shirt pull, it would have been a second yellow and a sending off. Liverpool will most probably try to get him removed from Match of the Day analysis. Brian Williams 88 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:39:50 Jeez that shoulda been two!Klopp grinding those gnashers looks like a fuckin' horse with an apple! Paul Ferry 89 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:49:10 The oldest fecker in Britain lives in Southport apparently - you know where this is going - and it's his birthday today. I thought it was Brent but he supports the red shite and advises to do everything in moderation, so I'm pretty sure I got that wrong Brent Stephens 90 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:51:21 Cheeky bugger, Paul! Ian Styles 94 Posted 27/08/2023 at 17:57:39 These fuckers will steel a point here in the 95th minute, the Geordies always go to pieces against these at some point. Brent Stephens 99 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:11:10 Sucker punch for Newcastle. Paul Ferry 100 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:11:58 Only good thing is Skunks are drawing. Andrew Ellams 101 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:13:30 I think the commentator on Sky just wet himself… Ian Styles 102 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:16:09 Newcastle still haven't got that winning mentality, they should have put this to bed when they were bang on top. They will either become a Man City or Chelsea with their billions or another Tottenham, who could never topple that final hurdle to get that silverware in the Kane & Son years. Andrew Ellams 103 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:16:26 How the fuck is Nunez arguing that? The entitlement is off the scale and the people running the game are completely to blame. Jim Bennings 104 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:17:58 To be fair, when you have players that cost millions and millions of pounds, like Nunez, they can pull out finishes like that.I mean at Everton we haven't spent millions and millions on players… oh hang on, mmmm...Move on, lol Brent Stephens 105 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:21:15 Jim, there is a serious point there, though. We're just not in the same league in terms of player quality. Added to which, all those injuries Rob alludes to in #91. I share Rob's positivity about when injured players return. Brent Stephens 106 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:23:00 Wouldn't ya just know it. Anthony A Hughes 107 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:23:10 Fuckers Will Mabon 108 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:25:11 Devil lives at Anfield, never comes to Goodison. Paul Gallagher 109 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:25:15 I wish Everton could do that. Jim Bennings 110 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:25:47 Geordie melts crumble again against these fuckers. Ian styles 111 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:26:38 Geordies have only lost 5 home games in last 2 years and three of them are against Liverpool. As I said earlier, they always go to pieces against Liverpool at some point. Jeff Armstrong 112 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:26:52 St Virgil being sent off was the worst thing to happen to The Skunks, battering them until that happens. Gerry Quinn 113 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:27:01 Never hated a team so much as the Media over-adored redshite!!!! God, why did we not pay the chuffing rent for Anal-Field when asked... Anthony A Hughes 114 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:27:06 When you can spend 䀁M on a forward… Brent Stephens 115 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:28:31 Yes, Anthony. We swim in a different ocean, in terms of player quality. Paul Hewitt 116 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:28:38 First time I'm happy Liverpool won. I can't stand them Geordie fans. Think they're bigger than they are. Gerry Quinn 117 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:29:01 ...and him not spend so many games injured Jim Bennings 119 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:29:11 WillNot really. It's just that the gap and the standards on and off the pitch at both clubs in this city is astronomical now.Remember Moshiri saying that we shouldn't expect to beat the top four? That was at the start of all the spunking away of millions upon millions on players and managers. In our minds, we think it's bad luck and good luck for that lot, but really it's what you aim for.For decades we've aimed too low, it's just that now after all the money we've spent, it's showing itself up much more clearer. Kevin Molloy 120 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:29:29 Prepare for the hullabaloo about this to continue for days, weeks, months. Gary Brown 121 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:32:20 As we've all known ever since Rom left, there's so much power in a genuine striker. We've had 42 chances and scored none. Enough said. Will Mabon 122 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:32:21 Jim,all true - and that's the work of the devil :-) Neil Tyrrell 123 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:33:10 Bizarre triple substitution from Howe when they were bossing it. He can only blame himself. Kevin Molloy 124 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:33:23 So they go to the team that beat 5-1 the team that beat us 4-0, go a goal down, and engineer a last-minute winner? Jim Bennings 125 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:38:44 Aye Will, probably right.Frankly as an Everton supporter, it's got to the stage now where you don't really care that much anymore, it's a passing feeling. If we do well then wonderful, shock me, surprise me.But the reality is, every season is the same, we struggle more and more and that lot across the park get more highs, but I'm just used to it now, numb to football in 2023 to be honest.I guess the new motto at the club should be Latin for "Put off until tomorrow what should be done today"Because that's what Everton as a club has even brainwashed as a fanbase now."it will all be ok when injured players are back"Reality is, you never have a fully fit team, not for long anyway. Then it's"Have patience, we are building something here, it takes time"Reality is, we never ever do build anything, and time at this club stands still, it certainly doesn't move on with any progression. But as I say, most long serving Everton fans are numb to it now. Barry Hesketh 126 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:39:26 Against my better judgement, I decided to watch the Newcastle game, but the Geordies are so ordinary, it's almost painful to watch, did they really have an extra man for almost an hour? I thought Everton were the only club to have a serious inferiority complex when facing the other lot, but it seems the Barcodes are vying to overtake us on that one. What it did prove, is if you have very good strikers, you're always in with a chance no matter how much of the ball you have or don't have. The other lot often score at least one a game, and usually more than one, that maximises their chances of taking one or three points from any given match. I won't be watching them again until they visit Goodison, it's almost as sickening watching them win as it is watching Everton fail to win. Joe McMahon 127 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:42:46 It pains me to say this, but across the park they are winners, that was one hell of a win with 10 men. They not only have good scouts with contacts but they find endless finishers, and have done for years.Sickening really and that's probably why we have a fanbase that still talk about the 60s and 80s, regularly. What would Everton do? They would splash something like a combined 𧴜 million on Pickford, Sigurdsson and Michael Keane. I can't work out why other clubs' Chairmen didn't copy this. Nick Page 128 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:44:51 Satans murderers at it again. Dear me, they're an utterly despicable shower. No other sports team anywhere in the known universe has the luck they do. Barry Rathbone 130 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:55:43 I did that thing of going to Anfield and Goodison for about 12 weeks back in the 70s to try and figure out why they kept winning and we didn't.Two things stood out – they were always busy, no player ever stopped harrying and chasing and no matter the score their belief never waivered. Getting beat at half-time 2-nil by Spurs who hadn't won there since Adam was a lad, a Liverpool fan said "We'll beat these 3-2" and they did. They were trained to be street fighters by Shankly and it remains with them to this day. Only Man Utd and Arsenal haven't been scared of them in my lifetime whereas our weird preoccupation with style over substance rather than win at all costs has fucked us right over. Tony Everan 131 Posted 27/08/2023 at 18:59:14 Geordies looked like they had nine men for the last 20 minutes. Those that were born from satan's arsehole can finish though, three shots on target and two goals. Jim Bennings 132 Posted 27/08/2023 at 19:02:03 Joe 127The winners/losers mentality and overall gulf was highlighted when their kids beat our seasoned pro's in the FA Cup under Carlo. We had international players out there and players costing millions of pounds but their kids schooled us (pardon the pun) in every area. There's a lot they are getting right but fundamentally it's Everton really that keep on getting it wrong. Will Mabon 133 Posted 27/08/2023 at 19:05:32 Jim,there comes at time, after seeing the same thing for so long, after seeing positive opportunities spurned and negative situations repeated and almost maximized; and getting to a point whereupon we here can predict what will happen next with near unerring accuracy... that one is left to wonder what's really going on. Colin Glassar 134 Posted 27/08/2023 at 19:07:11 Winners mentality showing through. Howe and his third tit need to learn some humility. Andrew Ellams 135 Posted 27/08/2023 at 19:11:12 Today showed Man City are so far ahead. Those below are all so so teams who will beat each other with nobody as an outstanding challenger. Ian Styles 136 Posted 27/08/2023 at 19:12:59 If it's any consolation, lads, at least they can't put us through another Champions League fairytale.Just expect 1 million twats in Dublin for the Europa League Final next May… Brian Williams 137 Posted 27/08/2023 at 19:13:22 Putting a slightly different perspective on things, Newcastle had the chances to have Liverpool dead and buried. Spurned chances galore. It's the same old story, if you don't take your chances you usually pay, just as we have twice so far this season. Mike Doyle 138 Posted 27/08/2023 at 19:16:38 Jim # 132] it seems to have been that way since they beat us in the 1971 cup semi-final.I was trying to recall how often we've beaten Liverpool since I started watching in 1970. The answer is depressingly few. Dave Lynch 140 Posted 27/08/2023 at 19:57:24 Newcastle are the north of England equivalent to Spurs.Always talked up by the media but never deliver on the hype.Saudi government will sack Howe for sure if results don't go their way. Colin Glassar 141 Posted 27/08/2023 at 20:00:15 We are only 3 points off trillionaires Newcastle. Just saying. It would be funny if they got relegated. He'll be lucky to escape with just a sacking, Dave. That MBS is just as lethal as Putin is. Brendan McLaughlin 142 Posted 27/08/2023 at 20:36:36 Jim #139Carlo wouldn't have come to Everton in 2016 and given his "get out" clause... he didn't really come on board in 2019 either. Barry Hesketh 143 Posted 27/08/2023 at 23:30:43 Robert Mancini has been appointed manager of Saudi Arabia and his first game in charge will be at home, sorry on neutral turf against Costa Rica at St. James' Park. Danny O’Neill 144 Posted 28/08/2023 at 08:48:58 Been offline for a few days.Howe got schooled by Klopp yesterday. He got over confident and made too many changes when it was going well. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Took off Gordon, who was giving the Liverpool full back a torrid time and on course to be man of the match. The game was there for the taking. Klopp's changes were more calculated when he could smell blood. And obviously, one was forced early doors. Howe was just throwing players on the pitch and it disrupted the balance of his team.I used to call Howe the English Roberto Martinez.I can see him being Newcastle's Mark Hughes. As soon as someone more prominent becomes available, they will replace him.I don't bet on football, but the odds on Ancelotti to Newcastle and Howe to Everton by next season?Meanwhile, I spent about 10 minutes debating the St Virgil red with a London Kopite dressed in his Liverpool shirt. Obviously he had a different view from mine.As the discussion evolved, he admitted to never having been to Liverpool let alone Anfield. My favourite comment on his football knowledge was when he shouted "break his legs". Honestly.I know I shouldn't get involved, but I can't help it and often have to educate them on their alleged club's background as they have no idea. I'm not proud of that by the way.Win the next one and we can be level with Newcastle on points. A long and winding road as the song went. Too early to look at the table. We've got Doncaster Wednesday. Joe McMahon 145 Posted 28/08/2023 at 09:11:34 Danny, I agree Howe was very lucky to get the Newcastle job, he'd be more of the same at Everton and would relegate us. Re London based kopites that have never been to Anfield. 30 years ago I was at Hull University, a few if us watching football in the students Union on the Huge screen. Someone from my course was there (she was from Hampshire). Liverpool lost to Southampton. The person in question looked glum, so I said to her cheer up the Saints won. She said to me, yeah but Joe I'm a Liverpool Fan! Rob Halligan 146 Posted 28/08/2023 at 09:43:02 Danny and Joe…Just a little sidestep from what you're saying, but I was absolutely mortified last night to read a text from a mate (Big Blue) which he had sent to a WhatsApp group chat. And his words were… “Just returned from Newcastle watching a very impressive Liverpool win.â€Now I haven't sent anything back as I'm in too much of shock to hear he would have gone to an away game to watch them. I don't know the reason as to why he went, but I've got a pretty good idea as to why, and if he done it once, he will do it again. I wouldn't watch them if they were playing in our back garden and yet here's a mate actually going to one of their away games. What next… Anfield? 😡😡😡.Oh, and by the way Danny, it's Doncaster Rovers, not Wednesday. Wednesday are in Sheffield, Sheffield Wednesday. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ Danny O’Neill 147 Posted 28/08/2023 at 09:51:39 I should have been more specific, Rob. Doncaster on Wednesday. I don't know what can help your mate. Hail Marys and confession may be beyond redemption. It might need a Bishop to exorcise him. Then again, a stern talking to from you might sort it out!!! Mark Murphy 148 Posted 28/08/2023 at 10:17:15 Nice one Rob! Hahaha…2 wins in Yorkshire this week and the world will be a brighter place.UTFT Mark Murphy 149 Posted 28/08/2023 at 10:23:36 Meanwhile, I'm on holiday in Bavaria, near the Austrian border and a town called Passau. When I was here last year, I left my Everton hat at my rellies so was glad to be reunited with it. On Saturday, me and the missus got a little train into Passau together for her birthday lunch. I moaned that I'd forgotten my hat and she said not to worry, no-one in Passau would know who Everton are! An after-lunch walk over one of the bridges over the river and I spy this bright yellow shirt coming towards me. As he got closer, I recognised the word “Sakes†(sp) so we stopped for a chat. After about 15 minutes, our respective wives were pulling us away like a pair of dog owners pulling at the leads! Always a pleasure to meet a fellow Blue. UTFT Rob Halligan 150 Posted 28/08/2023 at 10:35:11 Mark, I can actually beat that. A few years ago, me and the missus were on safari in Kenya, in a lodge in a national park (can't remember which one), which was up a mountain in the middle of nowhere. Now you wouldn't expect to see an Everton shirt, about 4,000 miles from home in such a remote location but, lo and behold, there we are at breakfast, and in walks a lad in an Everton shirt. He went to the food counter while his missus sat down. I looked at her and she looked back. In the end she came over and said that she knows me. Turned out they were both season ticket holders, about five or six rows behind me in the Upper Gwladys. Paul Birmingham 151 Posted 28/08/2023 at 10:38:46 Brilliant Mark, and a really nice part of the World. They'll be preparing the Oktober Fest, some great adventures were had, some of the best days.Brilliant memories of the 1985 semi, and trips to the Oktober Fest."Geshlossen"!Have a great holiday.UTFTs! Paul Birmingham 152 Posted 28/08/2023 at 10:46:12 Rob, it shows Evertonians are everywhere. UTFTs! Brian Williams 153 Posted 03/09/2023 at 17:53:37 Rob#150.Well I can actually beat that! There I was shivering like fuck at Everest base camp.......And this fella who sits by me in the top balcony strolls past asking "Anybody want a lolly ice?"Or was it Whetherspoons? 🤔 Paul Ferry 156 Posted 03/09/2023 at 17:57:28 Man Utd are not that very good really are they? Anthony? Martial? Paul Ferry 157 Posted 03/09/2023 at 17:58:08 That's what he told me Brian! Paul Ferry 158 Posted 03/09/2023 at 17:58:52 And we now have two Onana's to bug the crap out of us! Paul Ferry 159 Posted 03/09/2023 at 18:19:28 That's on Paul Ferry 160 Posted 03/09/2023 at 18:20:23 That looked on to me Tony Everan 161 Posted 03/09/2023 at 18:30:45 Difficult with the deflection but was the kind of goal that Pickford would have saved, not convinced that Onana is the better keeper. Tony Everan 162 Posted 03/09/2023 at 18:44:29 Paul, that offside was extremely close, I thought there was meant to be some margin of error. I would have also liked a second look at the Man U player getting hauled down in the area five minutes earlier, but not even a replay shown. Maybe there was nothing in it? Paul Ferry 163 Posted 03/09/2023 at 18:48:08 That, too, Tony, from our angle on TV he looked on or at the very worst it was marginal mate Barry Hesketh 164 Posted 03/09/2023 at 18:51:19 Why are you all on week 3? It's week 4. Anyway, having watched more matches than usual live on Sky, it's very apparent that the producers are very selective in what they replay and what they ignore, it really is a circus nowadays, hence the "greatest show on earth" tagline. Will Mabon 165 Posted 03/09/2023 at 18:52:40 Didn't watch but sounds an interesting finish.Rob @ 150, similar one:Many years back, a colleague from the same company (big outfit, not a direct work mate) stepped out in front of me from a shop in Bowness, Lake District. Weekend away with his family.Three weeks later, again steps out in front of me from a shop, with his family, on holiday in - Cape Town. He wasn't a Blue, but... Will Mabon 166 Posted 03/09/2023 at 18:54:10 Barry - sentimental reasons, we miss week 3...
