As Dame Caroline Dineage, Chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, launches an inquest into why the Premier League and Richard Masters have seemingly reneged on a pledge not to lobby against the Bill that would establish an independent regulator of English football, a Change.org petition has been started demanding that the Chief Executive resign.

"We demand Richard Masters' resignation from his position as CEO of the Premier League. It's time for leadership that values fairness, transparency and respects all clubs equally."

Only 7,000 bothered to sign the petition against Masters. Some fan base eh?

Les,

"Only 7000 bothered to sign the petition against Masters. Some fan base eh?"

This smells of a stitch-up by the Premier League. Can't trust the bastards.

Les, maybe we need to wait for the "adjusted" figures (what's the threshold?).

10,000 for a government response.

100,000 for a question in parliament.

Signed two petitions. Time to get these shysters out of football biased and corrupt making rules up to suit their agenda.

Quicker he's gone and an independent regulator comes in, the better. Hopefully they will be more transparent and take fans views on matters.

Masters is a servant. A servant of the big six. The petition will be ignored.

The regulatory body will be another example of a government body making bad things worse.

Masters is best described as the servant of Liverpool and Manchester United, the two clubs that actually chose him.

I have just signed the petition, nearly 8,900 now, well worth a couple of minutes to do so.

For all the criticism we read of Masters on here, only 9000 of our general public fan base can be bothered signing the petition. Shame.

I've just read on a change.org page the Premier League are dishing out freebies to MPs ahead of the bill – you can't fight corruption with corruption. 😡
