Column Changes are afoot at ToffeeWeb Michael Kenrick 19 August 2025 1comment (last) As many of you know, ToffeeWeb is under new ownership who have committed to maintaining it as a fully independent fan website dedicated to following everything about Everton Football Club. As we move into a new Premier League season on the back of a new era for the club itself at the fantastic Hill Dickinson Stadium, plans are well under way for the body and structure of the website to be rebuilt using the leading website generation software, Wordpress. In the meantime, the homepage news coverage and editorial columns that are operated from an integrated database system have been expanded with a new team of main contributors providing a stream of current and up-to-date content that continues to be the catalyst for the brilliant stream of comments from you, the readers —this is what really keeps the site alive and relevant. During this transition period since the new owners took over in February, a number of the 'static' pages on the rest of the site are in need of updating, as this recent post from Phil Roberts observes: ToffeeWeb is not what it was. Anyone checked the Players tab? 9 players no longer here shown on the 1st team squad Season tab. Still Season 2024-25 … and no results or goalscorers after 1 February. It would be better to get rid of all the bits that we use to answer questions rather than show it as being clearly out of date. Work is underway to get the new site up and running as soon as possible; it was expected to be done for the new season but some technical problems have delayed the roll-out. Please accept our apologies and bear with us as we endeavour to make substantial improvements to what we hope you will continue to see as your preferred online forum for reading and talking about Everton! Disclaimer () John Pendleton 1 Posted 20/08/2025 at 15:13:43 Michael, as a builder of commercial websites I can well imagine the tremendous effort that goes into building, maintaining and updating such a site as TW. We try to assign content as: Evergreen (no change required) Deciduous (seasonal changes after dust settles) and Infant (constant change required) TW content looks at first glance like it was a 40/20/40 mix of the above. Periods of transition might alter the mix to 60/20/20, which is still an unrelenting commitment. You have my admiration and sympathy in equal measure!
